This RP is temporarily CLOSED, and covers a large expanse of land (the Eastern half of North Carolina and it's coast) so there is plenty of room for mayhem and chaos!
Please ask me in this OOC thread, in the Nexus Chat, or in PM if you wish to join. (Whether it be a faction, and old character, or a new one.)
All I ask is that you read over the guide and the RP to get brought up to speed on events, environment, and such.
Check back, as this OOC guide will be receiving updates as we go.
So, that being said, Welcome to the beautiful coastal getaway, The Broken Banks, North Carolina!
Keep all appendages inside the watercraft at all times, you'll need an umbrella and a gun, and don't feed the gators!

It's great that so many of you want to participate in the Banks RP, but I'm going to have to close it for now. Eight of us are active, and there is still a slot held open for GuardsGhost - which would bring us to a count of 9 members in the RP.
While 'the more the merrier' is usually true, anymore than this is going to slow the thread down to a crawl and possibly start to cause inconsistencies in the thread, which I would really like to avoid. So to anyone not on this list of active / planned active members, I am very sorry but the thread is full. : (

Basic Outline of Broken Banks. [Things to help set the mood and maintain consistency.]
O - The Wolves are the major power at the moment, controlling most of the Broken Banks peninsula and a few of the islands.
O - The wetlands and mainland are largely unsettled, and in some places even inhospitable.
O - The region is dangerous, dangerous people and dangerous wildlife. No 18 year old girl running through the swamp at night by herself is going to survive very long. Try to be realistic. Maybe she is traveling with a caravan, or maybe she has been taken as a slave, being sold to the Wolves. Or maybe she is an explorer, accompanied by hired mercenaries for protection. These are just examples.
O - This place is wet. Expect everything outside to be damp due to the constant rainfall, and expect the wetlands to be very muddy, murky, and nasty. Nine months out of the year it is very hot. Luckily, the constant wind usually makes this tolerable.
O - Wildlife is everywhere. Whether it's RadBeetles and Black-Water Flies, or large creatures like Swamp Thrashers, Blueshell Mirelurks, or Swamp Hounds, there are no places on the Banks that don't have life thriving around them.
O - The Atlantic ocean still has fish, crabs, ect. living in it. The swamps have frogs and fish as well.
O - The swamps are usually irradiated, with some of them faintly glowing due to Old World radioactive waste disposal.
O - Many boats and shipwrecks line the Coast and the sounds. Some of these have been converted into homes.
O - Many people who are not officially "Wolves" live on the Banks among the Wolves. These people are traders, merchants, skilled workers, ect. Anyone with a marketable skill is allowed entry in the Banks, and many are allowed a permanent residence there as long as they continue to be of use to the Wolves in some way. Benefits come with official membership, however.
O - Most people don't survive an attack from a DeathJaw, so it is unknown how many people are actually attacked by the creatures or how many of the monsters are actually swimming around out there.
Added Note: Several DeathJaws were killed during the attempted raid of Kitty Hawk. Both the Wolves and a contractor are studying the creatures via dissection.
O - The DeathJaws, like a few other species of creatures out West, are rumored to be man-made. Natives, Swamp Ghouls, and Shamblers are all products of exposure to FEV and/or Radiation. Most of the other species inhabiting the Banks were also mutated by Radiation and FEV. ( Mostly just radiation. )
