Character Name: Pala Din (previously David Green)
Nickname(s): Pala
Race: Super Mutant
Sex: Male
Age: 146, born 5th of January 2135.
Birthplace: Lost Hill
Height: About a head taller then most Super Mutants thanks to both his armor and improved growth due to lack of radiation. Does not have an exact measurement...Never got around to measuring himself.
Weight: 1200 pounds, 1000 pounds by himself, and extra 200 from the armor.
Eye Color: green
Hair Color: Hairless
Hair Style: N/A
Facial Hair: N/A
Skin Color: muddy green.
Build: Muscular and bulky
Distinguishing Features: Remains of a T51-b power armor has been nailed, bolted and stapled to his body.
Profession: Gun for hire, though has a high moral standing.
Skills: (He is good at some fields of a skill, some worse, so instead of listing three overall skills I'll just describe my specialties in each field.)
Craftsmanship: Pala Din has spend decades repairing his laser rifle and fixing what parts of the armor that's still intact, however, that's where his skill ends. Generators, computers, doors and melee weapons he is useless at, with no idea how they even work let alone repair them.
Energy Weaponry: Spending most of his human life using laser and plasma rifles, and his time in the Master's army using plasma casters and gatling lasers, not to mention decades of using his laser rifle has made him a expert in energy weapons. He might not be able to shoot a birds eye with a laser pistol, but hand him anything powered by electricity and he will use it as if he had been training in it for months.
Explosives: He can pull a pin and throw a grenade alright but that's it. anything beyond that is out of his league. Using C4 is difficult with his hands, he has no awareness of arching for rocket launchers and grenade rifles, and if given a grenade machine gun he will hit the mountain behind the raiders much more then the raiders themselves. He isn't even very good at cooking a normal frag.
Firearms: He had experience with miniguns and other underslung heavy weapons from the Master's army. If thrown to him his size and training makes him fire it with pinpoint accuracy, acting more like a vehicle mounted weapon them one underslung. However any other weapons he is not very good at. Snipers, rifles and other long range weapons are too fickly for him, giving him lousy aim, and pistols crush in his grip. He can use assault rifles, but he tends to fire from the hip. Unless you have a minigun, best to just let him use his fists.
Science: While he was taught first aid but it was so long ago, and having relied on being a mutant with regeneration (And by regeneration I mean a bullet wound if left untreated will fix itself up in a few days, not instant regen like ghouls around glowing ones) means he's pretty bad at it, and doesn't have the hands for makeshift weapons. As for intelligence he has practically lived the fallout history out west and his access to brotherhood records meant he knows a lot about the world before the war including a once massive library. He knows the basics of science but that's it, not very good at maths, English, art or anything...Overall a master of history and he can understand basic science but he's about as avid in other fields as your average wastelander. Also due to the lack of communication, he also knows nothing about the east coast or any locations nearby.
hand to hand: A beast, his grip can rip a man in two, and while he is more a brawler when calm, his anger can make him come at you like a beast. He doesn't know any fancy tricks like moves or kung fu, but considering one punch and crush a mans skull he doesn't need it. If there is a weakness in his technique (if you can describe punching though walls a technique) it is when calm his blows tend to be slow and if ones swift and in light armor, can dodge blows easily. When angered, he can be lead into traps or just tricked into launching himself into a big hole.
Subterfuge: Pala can lay in wait for the perfect moment to open fire and knows how to remove a mine but that's it, useless at placing them, useless at stealth, useless at barter beyond threatening the merchant...Subterfuge is a major weakness of his.
Survival: Useless at this too. He knows how to cook meat...That's about it. Lucky he's a super mutant or he would have been poisoned or died of ingested radiation a long time ago.
Training: As a officer in the Master's army and a paladin in the brotherhood he was trained in a massive range of skills. These include the following: Weapon usage and maintenance in laser and plasma, Weapon usage with underslung heavy weapons e.g miniguns and M2 Brownings, power armor use and maintenance, training others, first aid (his hands making most of this skill useless) and hand to hand combat.
Other Abilities: Immune to radiation, has binocular vision due to a still working eyepiece. He also has a battle rage that can also be accessed out of combat by pushing certain subjects, namely the master, the war and while he has come accustomed to insults to super mutants, insulting the CREATION of mutants can also push him towards losing it. Battle range has some pros but also major cons. The pros involve a massive resistant to pain, taking gauess rounds in the crotch and still keep on coming! (Note: this is a figure of speech please to not try firing a gauess rifle at his crotch when enraged) he also becomes fearless and fights like a beast. The cons involve not having any control over himself, making him wild and unpredictable, attacking friend and foe alike. Another con is that while he can take a full blast of mini gun fire (once again a figure of speech, please do not fire a mini gun at him when enraged) before ripping the wielder apart, once the rage leaves every injury hits him like a ton of bricks. This can be very dangerous as he could be enraged by melee attackers only to run right out in the open against those with firearms, ending his thrashing with dozens of bullets wounds and falling flat on his face suffering from blood loss.
Apparel: chunks of T51-b power armor, still just as hard as a full set, but only covers about 65% percent of the body plus all electronics had been ripped out anyway, as such it is basically a fancy metal armor with the same stats and abilities. Damage wise small firearms like 9mm pistols and Vermont rifles sting quite a bit but are not fatal. However much larger caliber like .308 rounds can cause some serous damage to his exposed body and can make dents in his armor, a few in unison can leave even these areas exposed. Even larger caliber tends to have a one two punch to his armored body. One hit blasts the metal off the area exposing flesh, a second finishes the job. Armor piecing rounds are much more affective against him, his armor showing little resistance. He also has a fear of dogs, though with smaller ones this can result in him just getting angry at his fear and either crushing them or kicking them into the next state.
Weaponry: A Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle which is far more accurate and more power then the AER9 but has a much smaller clip (12 to 24) and has a smaller rate of fire, more akin to a large rifle then a smaller semi automatic one like the AER9. He has no side arm.
Other Equipment: He carries basic supplies in leather pouches, three dirty waters, five food pieces, five stimpacks, one super stimpack and one radaway (In case he comes across someone who needs it). In the ammo pockets of his armor he has twenty reloads. On top of his head is a eyepiece, common on T51-b armor before the brotherhood made the design simpler. It gives binocular vision though one eye.
Affiliation: None, trying to join the Brotherhood of Steel.
Religious Belief: Has a wide religious view, but calls himself Christian.
Sexual Preference: Bisexual before transformation, he honestly does not know if he even has a preference now.
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: From face value Pala does seem perfectly fine and logical, a bit quite at first but voicing opinion when subjects come up. He has strong leadership and strong opinions though enjoying a good debate and is very open minded especially to new ideas. However, he is not very good with social exchanges without goals in mind, staying focused on any objective or job. Despite having a cool personality he actually has a huge and violent temper, especially towards closed minded individuals and anyone who consider super mutants monsters. A good way to lose your arms is to talk bad about the Brotherhood, mutants or simply bring up the Master and the war full stop. These violet outbursts don't just end up with punches thrown, he can show animalistic traits if pushed fair enough and this rage can occur in combat if he suffers from enough physical pain. At this time he has no faction alliance despite attempting to re-join the brotherhood.
Pala Din's originally name was David green, born into the brotherhood, who had his upbringing in the safe and radiation free Lost Hills. His upbringing was pretty basic for a member of the brotherhood, though from an early age he had a big knack for the study of history, both from before and after the war, and though he grew to have a much wider view of the world then just the bunker and the technologies outside. He kept his views to himself however, and in time eventually achieved the rank of paladin, spending most of his time patrolling the hallways not seeing much if any of the outside world. Life was simple but enjoyable. He helped keep some knights in line, collected old history books, but overall he was left wanting, but understood what he had was the best in the wasteland. Things changed when news was heard of the master.
Mobilising for war, he was sent out like most of the brotherhood to act as a spearhead for a unity of settler communities (which after the crisis would form the NCR) all united to offer resistance to the masters army. He was given command of two squads of paladins and some knights due to his scores in VR testing on leadership and got a chance to see action on the coast. During the conflict many battles went sour for the humans and during one, it was such a long time ago he forgot which, he chose instead to set up a defendable position and stand his ground. Though his studies he found barbaric armies that used brute force were often defeated by well defended, well trained and technological superior forces. He would let them rush them, only to be cut down by heavy firepower.
However these were NOT the mutants of today. Equipped with modified combat armor, laser rifles, mini guns, plasma casters and rocket launchers, not to mention they were lead by the most intelligent minds in the wasteland meant he didn't stand a chance. Taken prisoner along with many of his men, he was confronted by the Master himself along with other officers, as he found it amusing debating the ideals and goals of other factions, especially the Brotherhood seeing their goal as pointless. What happened in his chambers is a guarded secret of his (There is a story I'm not just saying that to get out of it...Its called character mystery XD) but after an hour long conversation he willingly chose to change. As far as he knew, he was the first and only brotherhood member to be turned willingly.
Being raised radiation free, his intelligence was boosted, he kept his tall build and was even a head taller then most other mutants. He lead forces for the master against his former brothers but sadly he was in battle when the master was defeated, something he hasn't forgiven himself for. Still loyal to the Master, he continued to lead his troops into battle and while many other mutant leaders left the west coast he thought a gorilla war would see them victory, still believing that the Master still lived thinking he must have hid some of his body to slowly regenerate or that it was all a ploy for him to discover a cure to the sterility hidden and in peace. Sadly, this plan needed the other mutant forces to stand their ground. They didn't. He annoyed the brotherhood, NCR and even the Enclave for decades until with the Enclave removed and most of the NCR issues resolves thanks to the Chosen One the NCR gathered enough resources to track down their mountain base and wipe most of them out. Those who escaped refused to take any more orders and went their separate ways, some settling down, others going after the other mutant groups.
Spending time alone, he was eventually driven into hiding by NCR bounty hunters and spent a few decades in a bomb shelter that had its anti radiation shield made of cardboard and a note that said "You should have paid us Michael!" This resulted in a slow mental breakdown as he slowly came to realise what he had done to his brotherhood and his family. Eventually, he came to the conclusion that he had done nothing wrong. Both the Brotherhood and the Master had mutual goals which did not conflict, the Master wishing to better prepare humanity for the wasteland and the Brotherhood simply taking the tech from those who were not fit for its use. He chose a side during a war but now the war was over, by logic he should be free to return. Managing to collect an old battered suit of T-51b armor, and still showing cracks in his mind, he "Equipped it." This involved stapling the shattered arm plates and motor gear onto his arm, bolting the chest plate on and nailing the helmet onto his skull. He also started calling himself a paladin shortly after, and as some people thought it was a name as opposed to a title, Pala Din stuck, especially since he refused to use his previous name figuring he gave it up with his humanity.
From here he began exploring again hoping to find a Brotherhood chapter to re-join despite the fact their not exactly the biggest fans of what they see as outsiders, let alone mutants. He has engaged with people, even doing odd jobs such as ripping gangs of raiders apart with his bare hands for food and water, and this lead to a mental recovery, though he still shows deep cracks if one pushes on touchy subjects, and his original plan to re-join the Brotherhood has not changed.
His equipment includes a ruined T-51b power armor, the leg and arms attached to different areas of his limbs with thick veins of flesh in between giving the impression he was in the suit when changed, ballooning out and shattering it with only the crotch area and chest plate fitting over though with most of the electronics removed for space. The right shoulder plate shows a peeling Brotherhood emblem while the left shoulder having the words scratched onto it saying "The Master still lives!" and while the dome and face of the helmet are attached to his head the sides and back have been torn away. The helmet itself was an earlier version of the T-51b before the brotherhood managed to simplise many of its components meaning there's a lot more tubing coming from the mask along with an electronic eyepiece that normally rests on his forehead, though is still powered by a energy cell and is often used for binoculars. Overall its power armor without the power, less armor and covering MUCH less body, making it more the equal to metal armor.
