He is rather impartial compared to other men of the Legion, usually being fair even when dealing with NCR. Being a Frumentarius, he has learned to keep a cool head, but easily grows angry on the inside. Despite being so young, he is astute and cautious in his dealings, favoring tact rather than straightforwardness. He has a deity-like view of Caesar as the Son of Mars, and will do anything for the Legion, even if it means the killing of innocents and loved ones.
Cato was born into Caesar's Legion an unnamed child, and one of few Legion-born children. Destined to die for Caesar, he was relentlessly pressured by his instructor. When he turned sixteen, he was taken under the wing of a prominent Decanus named Cato. For four years, the unusually merciful Decanus taught him to be a leader, as well as to fight and survive in the Wasteland. However, when a group of Legion slaves escaped, Cato was blamed, and sentenced to crucifixion.
In honor of his former mentor, he renamed himself "Cato" and took on the role of a recruit Decanus, commanding a contubernium of ten men. For the next half of a year, his squad was mostly sent on patrol duty in Legion territory, but as things started heating up west of the Colorado they were sent to the Fort. Cato's contubernium was sent over the river, and his team, along with the Decanus Dead Sea and Alexus, was the driving force behind the Battle of Nelson. During the battle, his contubernium was able to flank the NCR soldiers focused on the other groups, and set fire to some of the barracks. In the confusion, the men killed many soldiers, dealing a massive blow that was perhaps the deciding factor in the battle.
For not following strict orders, his centurion wanted to execute him, but a high-ranking Legion officer intervened, and instead cut off three of Cato's fingers on his right hand, forcing him to have to use his left. For his ability to command a contubernium, and the victory at Nelson, Cato was promoted to a full Decanus in charge of Cottonwood Cove. Shortly after being promoted, however, the same high-ranking officer who had saved him came to him, and offered him a place in the Frumentarii. Cato accepted, knowing it probably wasn't an offer, and spent the next few years or so with the other Frumentarii, learning the "tools of the trade", so to speak. When they felt he was ready, he was assigned a task; wander the Mojave under the guise of a caravaneer, meanwhile keeping tabs on NCR operations.

Well hello there, I'm Zel. Nice to see a Legion character, we don't get much of those here. Nice to see. There are a few issues though...
For one your history is short. I usually ask for 3 paragraphs of history, 2 at an absolute minimum. Please expand your history.
You said in the history that he was taken under the wing of a prominent Decanus named Cato, was he named after this Cato or is that a mistake?
(I reread after I posted this and my next point does seem to be a bit... I dunno I can't really tell if this was the original Cato or not, so if you could specify whether it was or not that'd be great)
Also with the Legion, Legion is pretty god damn tough. Rules are rules, you don't just get out of not being crucified. If the Decanus didn't punish him in the correct way, I'm sure his superiors would find out about it and punish the Decanus for not living up to Caesar's code. I'd say change the crime of freeing slaves, 'cause you don't do that unless they've earned it in Caesar's Legion. It'd be more appropriate if he lost some slaves (that way it's sort of poetic justice and Caesar would love that).
Given that he's lost three fingers on his right hand, does he now use his left? Assuming he was right handed ('cause otherwise it's not really a punishment if he loses his right fingers 'cause he doesn't use them to fight with. So maybe write something about that in there.
I'd also give him some examples of great leader ship, the title of Decanus requires it afterall.

Hello, Cato! ( Aye yo Cato ) If I can echo Zel, good to see a new Legion Character. Cato's profile looks pretty good here. I see the changes have been made. History is still a little slim, but pretty well detailed so I can't complain. Like the character overall, and Cato's a welcome addition to Nexus. Now, one issue might be his age. The Battle of Nelson occurred in 2281. Cato is 21 according to his profile, and current time is generally 2283-2284. So, that means Cato Jr. would have been fighting the Battle of Nelson at around eighteen or nineteen years old. And then a Frumentarius by nineteen or twenty? Although I'm not denying that it could be done, I think it would be a little more easy to identify with Cato if he were a couple years older. Even placing his age at 23 or 24 would be a little more realistic and cut down on the prodigal son stereotype. Other than that, his profile looks good to me. So long as Zel accepts Cato's changes as well, age him a little and he's Approved!
( PS: Maybe Cato might want to get involved with GuardGhost's Oregon Legion in the future? : P )

Done, I hope! I'm not too good with years, so you'll have to excuse me for that : P
Also, I haven't participated in many RP's in the past, so if you have any tips that'd be great!

Looks good to me! As soon as Zel gives you the OK you can start Cato in a thread.
As far as tips, I'd say read over a few of the FAST paced threads to get a general idea how characters are interacting with eachother. The main thing is just to RP fairly, and communication with the people in your thread using chatbox, PMs, Steam, or even that KIK thingy goes a long way as well. Reading over the Fallout Guides is useful, too. Especially if your not familiar with Fallout lore or history.

Yeah he looks good to me now. Approved and moving. But yeah do what Meta said, and just wing it when you get into a thread properly. Everyone's gotta start from somewhere!
