Abigail Whitlock was born to an aristocratic line of plantation owners in northern Arkansas (near Missouri and Tennessee). It is rumored that the plantation goes back hundreds of years, and was shielded from the bombs thanks to its remote location. The plantation survived a war in which soldiers from the north burned and razed the south, yet the plantation was majestically unscathed, and it later survived a nuclear holocaust, giving it the nickname of "The Lucky Plantation" Although unaffected in the beginning, escaping refugees eventually ended up at the doors of the Whitlock Plantation. Those with skills were left in, and those who didn't or were mutated were shot, and through that, the Whitlock Plantation begun its post-war prosperity. Those with strength were sent to do agricultural work, while those with intelligence begun to work on the teaching of the Whitlock Family and research. As such, the plantation not only became a place where Corn and Cotton were planted and farmed, but also a place where research of the post-war world is conducted. This aristocratic family would eventually enslave the descendants of the workers, but brainwash them and not abuse them, having learned the lessons of slave rebellions.
The Aristocratic Family eventually needed more members, and some intelligent wastelanders were allowed to marry into the family. This elite family however, dwindled despite the newcomers thanks to numerous unfortunate events involving miscarriages and premature deaths, and soon, Abigail was the only person who was young and intelligent enough to run the plantation, to the dismay of her patriarchal family, but the next person in line was then 16 year old Walter Whitlock, who is a distant cousin of Abigail, and although he is very intelligent for his age, he is still too young and has a lot to learn. Her ability to quickly learn and adapt allowed her to control her family's prosperous plantation. Under her rule, Abigail begun a brutal campaign to exterminate Ghouls and to conduct trade with larger factions in the wasteland. This was of mixed reception, as some anti-ghoul humans were very happy with this bloody crusade and some even aided the forces of the Whitlock Plantation, while others even begun brutal acts of terror against caravans carrying Whitlock Cargo, calling Abigail and others who run the plantation "balant racists".
Abigail, now a 31 Year Old woman, who is surprisingly not in a relationship or married is loved and hated throughout the wasteland. Some hate her for her ruthlessness and lack of mercy for ghouls, other hate her for enslaving other wastelanders, although she does maintain the Whitlock tradition of treating slaves nicely to avoid slave rebellion. She is loved for not only being able to provide salvation to many who lacked cotton and corn, but for indirectly creating dozens of jobs for many wastelanders, and also due to her relative benevolence towards the wastelanders, if they weren't to get on to her bad side.
There are a few who have attempted to assassinate Abigail, mainly those who sympathize with the plight of the ghouls persecuted by her. Attempts have ranged from a simple bullet to an elaborate bomb, all of which have left her unscathed due to luck. Those who assassinate her are usually publicly lynched outside her plantation, for the weary eyes of the Wasteland to see, and that has made some fear, and others hate her and her powerful family even more.
Regardless, Abigail continues on her dynamic rule over her plantation in what was rural Arkansas, and has plans to built a marvelous city around her plantation, with her plantation being the hallmark of the city.
