He learned to herd cattle at young age and at his 8Th birthday his Father gave him a gun, so he learned basic shooting from his dad. at the age of 9 the ranch came under attack of a raiders, they managed to scare them of, but only after they killed his mother and stealing half the herd of brahims, after the lost of his mother they lived a poor life, Father lost himself in drinking Whiskey all day long and when he was drunk he punched the 2 younger brothers. and because of his Fathers Drinking problem John and his little brothers needed to run the ranch, that didn't go so well... at that moment he promised himself that he never was going to drink Alcohol, or use chems. when he was 17 he Joined the Ncr Military to get some good money to the Family, and to get away from his dad

So he and his Buddy Lars were sent out to Fiends Territory to rescue some captured troopers. but right from moment one its gone into a disaster. They got ambushed by Fiends they could escape but Lars, who become a real good friend had a bullet in his Lungs so he asked for the mercy shot, John shooted his best friend and that was one of the few moments he ever cried in his life, he took his friends .45 Pistol with Silencer encypted his Friends name on it and took it with him as an reminder of his best friend. he returned to base and he got out of his contract, Couple months after the battle of Hoover dam, He made an Agreement with the Ncr-Head guys that he couldn't take it no more and they understanded.
He now started to do what he wanted. Finding Adam after a few Months walking and tracking down his Brother he learned to live of the land and that went pretty good. around that same time he saved an injured Coyote pup who was attacked by a Radscorpion, he patched the little feller up with his basic medical training from the army and trained it to be his helper, but never gave it a name "because he was too scared of bonding to it and if it died he would be feeling terrible again" but he had an new friend, a true loyal friend who will follow him wherever he goes.
and now were in the present he still wanders looking for his little brother. but never could gave up the NCR he still got his Radio and Dogtag with him just like his Barret, Because the NCR was like a Father to him. and not the kind of father who drinks allot no a carring father and a big big family to help each other, and still helps troops if he sees them and radio important stuff over butt he is not Official a soldier no more.
[Ohio, The Wiskey Problem]
After he followed a track to Ohio he was ambushed and attacked by Legion, he was fixed at the Ohio casino and was forced to work for them, in search for Ammo he found Mr Phillip and he helped him with his Casino Problem, after Philip owned the Casino John had worked for him for awhile.
after some jobs for Philip he met Craig Durret and Willow, and then he found out what Phillips real plans where, they moved against him and in the battle that happened there they failed and needed to leave the city in a hurry. now he is back on the West coast trying to pick up the track of his lost brother again.
