BACKSTORY SHIT
A veteran Inquisitor, Irons has been all over the Imperium. Over the course of his many travels he has rooted out all manner evil and heretics, fought strange and frightful monsters and Xenos alike, and almost died in the process. Ravaged beyond recognition by tyranid bio-acid, Irons’ life and what was left of his body were saved by Astartes of the Imperial Fists chapter. Though the Astartes managed to save his life, Irons required extensive bionic augmentation to allow his ruined body to function. As a dubious honor, Irons now primarily selects Astartes from the Imperial Fists chapter for his retinue. Irons’ does not disclose his past to many, aside from this boilerplate statement:
“I am Silvanus Irons, hunter of heretical minds and slayer of witches. My skill is legendary, and my ire moreso, do not test me. “
As an inquisitor, Irons’ power is absolute and unlike many of his brother and sister Inquisitors, he is direct and straightforward in his work. He is, even at his advanced age, seen as a Puritan Inquisitor, a man who adheres to imperial tenants and ideals. The Emperor is his god and the Heretic is intolerable.
Irons’ latest mission sees him traveling to the Omega system on the western edge of Imperial controlled space, still within the Emperor’s sight through the Astronomican, but out of the way enough that Imperial control has slipped. The Omega system, like most systems that are forgotten and pushed to the wayside, has suffered from reported crime, piracy and has even been reported to harbor Xenos in their midst. Irons, sent by Lord Inquisitor Orlanuss of his own Ordos, selected a promising veteran of the Imperial Fists chapter, as per his preference, to aide and accompany him on his journey. The Astartes would prove an invaluable companion and certainly have more than his fair share of chances to prove his mettle in a place such as this.
