It all began on the fateful day of The Great War, 2077. The daughter of the owner, Sally Wilson ('Little Sally' to most people), had died under mysterious circumstances involving a new Giddy-Up Buttercup model and an unidentified object. Wilson himself had a team of experts checking on her in the maintenance levels of the theme park; this wasn't something that could be made known to the public. Just when they had began slicing up her remains, the bombs fell and the rotting remains of the team of researchers are all the remain... or so they say...
It was a big day for the mascots too, as today they were expecting a lot of visitors to the park what with the unveiling of the newest Giddy-Up model happening on that same day. Of course that unveiling never happened, as it disappeared after the death of Little Sally. Nevertheless, they were all prepared for a big day and were getting their suits on in the 'MASCOTS ONLY!' room beneath the park itself. When they were finally ready, the world had ended and the park was never going to receive anymore visitors. For six days, they were trapped in their dressing room and the radiation was taking it's toll on their brains; their sanity.
On the third day, they all took part in the murder of Bill the Buzzy Bee and ate his flesh as a means of sustenance. It only took three days for such an atrocity to occur. By the sixth day they all showed signs of mild ghoulification and were plagued with constant headaches and sores from the radioactive material seeping through the ceiling. However, they did not escape their room this day...
A circular hole was carved in the ceiling with what sounded like lasers and a blue eerie light shone down on them and made them freeze. They couldn't even scream when they were being pulled up into the air, suspended in the light and ascending to the stars. None of them could believe that they were kidnapped by aliens, some of them dismissing it the loss of their sanity.
Their alien abductors also took the remains of Little Sally and a few of the Buttercup robots, as well as the prototype Sheriff Pete. At first, they were interrogated by the aliens and beat up a little when they couldn't understand what it was the aliens wanted from them. The aliens were fascinated by the Giddy-Up Buttercup and were infuriated by the lack of advice the mascots gave. Eventually, they just began extracting their memories and trying to find the information they wanted, going so far as to take memories from the rotting mind of Little Sally. The mascots had nothing, but she had everything. Now, the mascots were just as expendable as any other humans.
They were subjected to horrific psychological experiments, in which they had to watch hyper-realistic holograms of their loved ones be raped, murdered and tortured, with the penalty for getting upset being a treatment similar to electroshock therapy. They were often left in isolation from one another to increase the speed of their descent into madness, leading them to become paranoid, hallucinating, insomniacs. One of the mascots was subjected to something slightly different...
The memories they took from Little Sally were merged with his. This, of course, had horrific effects on his psyche and lead him to believe that he was Little Sally and the others mascots began to believe it too. He began to wear Sally's dress and the aliens used a special glue to attach a blonde pigtail wig to his scalp to further escalate the illusion. After some further torture and experimentation they were dumped back at the theme park, along with a modified, disturbing Sheriff Pete, an 'Abomination' and the naked, rotting corpse of Sally Wilson. They didn't remember anything about the abduction, nor The Great War, and thus were almost frozen in time (doubly so since they were all ghouls). 50 years had passed during their time with the aliens and they had developed a variety of mental disorders: schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder, depression, psychopathy, etc.
They all continued to work in their various amusements, rides or other areas of work, welcoming the aliens when they occasionally visited the park and welcoming any human/ghoul visitors that approached the gate and got through the metal detector. Melvin the Mighty Mouse continued to work in Melvin's Shoe-Store, Billy the Kid continued to serve food up for the restaurant's skeletal patrons that had been frozen in time by the great war and 'Little Sally Wilson' (as he now liked to be called) became the general overseer of the park. Visitors came every now and then, some of them being brutally murdered, raped or tortured if they had weapons on their person or weren't tall enough to ride, but... the one quality they all shared is that none of them left the amusement park. The aliens had left warning signs written in blood all around the park's exterior and tried to keep any visitors away from it, but very few people heeded the warnings. They didn't want anyone getting in, but more importantly...
...They didn't want anyone getting out.
(I'd like to credit ThreeDawgs and Possessedcheddar as well as myself for the creation of this faction.)
(And, if you want to criticise anything about the Alien involvement then you should know the ThreeDawgs said it was fine.)
