Skin Color: White; faded-tan.
Build: Slim but fit
Distinguishing Features: Tattoo of a snake on his wrist.
Profession: Contract worker (Assassin, spy, terrorist, etc.)
Skills: He makes self-preservation an art form primarily and lives off subterfuge. He's good with explosives and just as well with hand-to-hand combat, often using his acrobatic abilities during combat. He's good with most firearms as well as energy weapons but has never been a big fan of lasers nor plasma, minus the Laser RCW he keeps locked up for a rainy day.
Training: He's trained himself to not only be self-sufficient to the best of his ability, but to know when and what he can exploit. His repair skill is decent though he rarely uses it. He also trained himself to know that when it comes to the decisions he makes, he knows to not dwell on them but to accept them and put them behind him. Long story short, he's trained himself to be as objective as possible.
Other Abilities: He's a great gambler, witty, and a hacker. He's a smooth talker and isn't afraid of playing dirty and under the table to get what he wants.
Apparel: Often times very well dressed in most circumstances, his Corneliani suits being among his personal favorites. On occasion, however, he can be seen in jeans, boots, a black t-shirt covered by a black leather jacket with a snake on the back that he religiously keeps in good condition.
Weaponry: 9mm pistol, 9mm submachine gun, Silenced .22 pistol, Marksman carbine, 12.7mm submachine gun, Laser RCW.
Other Equipment: His Stealth Boys as well as his Stimpaks never seem to diminish and his wealth has accumulated massively over the years.
Affiliation: Independent though he's done work for entities such as the Enclave, Brotherhood Outcasts, the Omertas, the Chairmen, Tenpenny and co., Lucky 38, etc.
Religious Belief: Indifferent to the concept of it.
Sexual Preference: Homosexual though he's feigned bisexuality for the sake of a job multiple times before.
Relationship Status: Single unless a job requires otherwise.
Personality: Oh Vance, he's a blast. Egotistical, arrogant but to an extent, often times very demeaning and condescending. Cold. Always keeps his emotions calm and controlled. Vance is a man who likes to toy with people. In every conversation, he's in control; viewing every encounter as a game. He likes to keep things simple, calm and does so by controlling every variable in a situation. Of course, we all know that's never 100% possible, nor is it a realistic expectation to have. Vance not only has the attitude, but the brains and skill to turn a disaster around in his favor, so even if calamity strikes, he's sure to come out on top smelling like roses, leaving everyone else in the ashes. Upon most appearances he makes, Vance strides through the room as if he owns the place whether it be a five star dining establishment or the most irradiated ruins of the wasteland. He looks down on those he feels to be inferior to himself, and his affection toward people is shown accordingly, often times creating enemies without even meeting them, although meaning no harm. Although selfish is an understatement, he does harbor compassion to a degree. He is compassionate toward those in suffering, although unless directly beneficial or relevant, he keeps his compassion on lock-down, keeping it from altering his judgment. Knowing struggle and suffering, perhaps more than most, Vance does, however, know when someone needs help. Although he sees himself as judge and juror as to who deserves to be saved, and who deserves to be left to fend for themselves. Or in other words, left to rot. Some things are better off not knowing, at least, that's what he always says as he keeps people second guessing everything he does. He always leaves people hanging, wanting to follow after to get the full story of just what he's up to when he happens to be seen. His motives are never clear, nor does he like to let that change as it ensures he gets just what he's gunnin' for out of life.
(Your characters history goes here.)
Vance Braun was a vault boy, living in the capital of former America in the depths of Vault 101. He never knew his parents and the story told to him was they died in a radroach invasion once upon a time, he never bought it but accepted that if nobody wanted to tell him, he was either going to figure it out on his own or just not let it phase him, which was the decision he ended up making. His thinking was that they were here, now they're not.. end of story. It was a lot for a kid to handle but he managed.
During the earlier part of his teen years, he and other residents friendly to the chem scene often times had late night "parties" that were mustered up to a hazy blur the next morning. These parties were well hidden secrets from the Overseer as well as his daughter and other do-gooders and were favored by the Tunnel Snakes, a gang of guys raising their own brand of hell in the tunnels of 101; this was when Vance met Butch Deloria. Butch, a sensitive topic for Vance and one that he reveals to nobody, much less himself to the best of his ability, was the leader of the Snakes.
The two met in these under-underground parties where they hated each other at first until one early morning radroach invasion threatened the incapacitated Butch's life. Knowing his deep-rooted fear of radroaches, Vance took his time to gloat, even threatening to let the roaches devour the greaser until some twinge of hidden infatuation took over and he exterminated the threats. As Butch swallowed his pride to thank Vance, Vance took the incentive to kiss Butch. This put a new light on their relationship as individuals. The two fronted their relationship as business; Vance being the stand-offish adviser to Tunnel Snake activity.. One example of his influence on the gang was when the gang had harassed Amata outside of school. The plan hit a bust when the vault's doctor's son interfered. He alone fought off the gang and landed a few decent blows on Butch. Vance, of course, had a chat with this guy late that night ensuring he wouldn't interfere with the Tunnel Snakes any further. Vance always had his stolen moments with Butch where they could be alone until late one night when a massive invasion of radroaches put the whole vault into a panic. The two were in the middle of sleeping together when the alarms went off. They clothed themselves and Vance helped the paralyzed Butch through the vault. Butch, feeling a little less pussy-shit and remembering he was the serpent king, told Vance that he'll catch up later, he just needed to check on his mom. Vance said "to hell" with her and that they needed to leave right then and there.
The two had always dreamed of escaping the vault but never had an adequate opportunity until that night.
Vance waited at one of the secret openings leading to the surface from the reactor levels but Butch never came. Cutting his losses and believing the roaches killed Butch, Vance got out of dodge and into the early morning light.
From that point, he took time to learn how to survive in the wasteland. As time and fate would have it, he found work among many factions in the capital and his skill set and resources only grew. Vance's career forced him to do many morally questionable things but he didn't care what his employers intentions were, despite the lives they affected. Vance always carried out the operation as he saw fit, even if it compromised the wishes of his employers. Either way, he got the job done... even if some feelings and egos were hurt by him in the process.
He relocated to the Mojave when a job took him to the Vault 101 area. Seeing that the vault door was still standing and the smell of burning flesh didn't permeate the entrance, he decided never to return to the capital wasteland. Why? The temptation to destroy every inch of the place was too strong... So... Vance went to a man he used to work with by the name of Augustus Autumn with the request of a pilot and a vertibird. Augustus agreed only if Vance went to pick up something called the G.E.C.K. This, Vance does, effectively. After leaving the Enclave with the G.E.C.K., Vance hitches a ride on the aircraft.
When asked where he wants to go by the pilot, Vance replies simply with, "Get me lost."
In the Mojave, or on the New Vegas Strip more specifically, Vance refined his style and allure. He continues with his line of work seeing how Vegas "needs more people like" him. Vance grew to adore The Strip as well as the surrounding areas known as Westside and Freeside.
After the war at the Dam and failing to take the Dam and Strip for himself, he finds a strange, weathered protectron standing in his penthouse with a message regarding the state of Vault 101.
