It's Nice to Go Trav'ling

Spencer glared at Lily and followed Sierra out the door.

"Wait, wait, don't go!" He shouted, grabbing her shoulder and turning her around. "I don't know what that bitch it talking about! Listen, she hasn't said two words to me since she got here! And besides- I'm a changed man! You changed me. I love you, and I would never hurt you. And besides, you can't go to Vegas all by yourself. It's a dangerous road, raiders from one way and deathclaws from the other. We gotta stick together if we want to survive. So whaddya say? Will you trust me? I just don't want you to get killed," he said calmly.

He walked back to the ranch and found Lily lying in her bed. He grabbed her and picked her up, pinning her against the wall.

"What the fuck was that back there? You could have gotten me killed," he snarled. He shoved her go. "Listen, I don't care if you don't want to fuck me, just don't ruin my life because you won't put out."

Spencer collapsed to the floor and stared back up at Sierra, who was now pointing a gun at him.

"Jesus Christ," he shouted, "Put the gun down! I'm just trying to find out why this dame would lie to you about me! You can understand why I would be upset, can't you?!"

He stood up and brushed himself off. "We're leaving. I don't care what personal stuff we all have going on, we're not stopping for this fucking drama."

Spencer angrily packed his bags and purposefully walked ahead of the two women. When Sierra caught up to him, he slowed down and listened to what she had to say.

"I love you to, baby. Nothing will ever make me stop loving you. But we can make this work. Nothing even happened.Come on, just think of our date in Vegas. That'll keep us going."

Several hours later, they could see their destination- Red Rock Canyon.

"Let's be careful around here. Khans can be jumpy, so keep your weapons at a distance unless it is absolutely necessary."

Spencer sensed something was wrong with Sierra, so he moved closer and put his arm around her.

"It's gonna be all right. Everything is fine. We won't stay here long, I promise."

He moved forward, ignoring Lily altogether. He made his way to the drug lab, and suddenly he began shaking.

Jack was lying on the lounge chairs when he saw them approach. He squinted, and then stood up and greeted Spencer with open arms.

"Hey, I haven't seen your sorry ass here in years? What's happening, slick? Here for some old memories, or did you finally fall off the wagon."

"Keep your voice down," Spencer said shakily. "I'm working on important business and no one can know it's me. Now I need some information." All traces of charisma and confidence had left Spencer.

"Were there any... uh... any caravan guards here recently?" he said faintly.

"Uh, yes. In fact, I think they're still here. Hey, you sure you don't want any samples? I can hook you up, man."

"No!" Spencer shouted, immediately covering his mouth. "No, I don't. Where are they?"

"Oh, they're in one of the tents around here. Most of them are still passed out, so you might have to wait a while."

"Thank you. I need to leave."

Before he could walk away, Jack pulled Spencer back by the arm.

"Say, who's that mousy red head you got with you? You've had that already right? Could I get a go at her?"

Spencer wiped his forhead and looked at Jack.

"Actually, you might want to stay away. She's quite... frigid," he said quietly. "Now I need to leave."

Spencer quickly walked away and located the tent that they were in. He looked at his companions and sighed.

"We need to get them out of here. I can't stay here long. I hate this place."

He paced around for a moment before noticing a large cart nearby. He had an idea and heaved a few of them on at a time and wheeled them out of camp, covered in a blanket. He got a few stares, but no one really said anything. He did this until they were all outside the camp looked at them.

"We need to tie them up. They'll have rope in the camp. Sierra, come with me. Lily, you stay here. Oh and- please take these," Spencer said, handing her their guns. "We shouldn't need these."

They walked into camp and Spencer noticed a Khan eyeing Sierra suspiciously.

They got the rope and were heading out when the Khan stopped them.

"Hey, you're first recon! I recognize you from bitter springs! You killed my sister you bitch!" He shouted at them. Suddenly all the heads in the camp turned toward them.

"Look, I think you have her mistaken," Spencer said nervously. "We paid for this rope and we need to leave. Thank you."

Spencer kept Sierra close and quickly made their way out of the canyon, followed by the glares of the Khans. Sierra went off to be by herself and Spencer sighed and got to work. Although Lily was there, he ignored her and worked by himself, tying the guards together against the support beams of a destroyed house. He lit a cigarette and waited for them to wake up. An hour later, one of them began to sir and screamed. Spencer move over to him and gagged him with a rag.

"Hey. Calm down. Now if you give me what I want, I'll make sure no one gets hurt."

Suddenly the guard recognized Spencer and started struggling in his bonds.

"Sorry buddy, you aren't getting out of this. Now, who's your boss? Why did he drop me off in the middle of nowhere? I'm gonna take off the gag and I need to to answer me. Screaming won't help, all right?"

He untied the rag and the man spit on him.

"You're not gonna make this easy, are you?"

Several others woke up during the display and opened their mouths to scream.

"I wouldn't do that," Spencer said. "She's having a bad day."


"All right, I'll talk!" the youngest one shouted. "Jake Lawrence did it! Payed us 1000 caps to do it!"

Spencer walked closer to the young man.

"Why did he keep me alive? And why dump me so close to Vegas?"

The man stayed silent for a moment. "How should I know? He just payed us," he said sheepishly.

"I know why," the leader of the caravan said.

Spencer made his way to the man speaking.

"Why is that, then?"

"He mentioned a plan for you when you came back to Vegas."

The color flushed from Spencer's face.

"Of course I know him, but how did you hear of him?" Spencer asked coldly. He was still worried about what the guard had said. What plan could he mean?

Spencer slowly stood up and dusted himself off.

"Come on, let's get out of here. We need to get to Vegas."

Suddenly the youngest member of the guards leaped up, having apparently apparently cut through the ropes that bound him, and in one swift motion removed a gun tucked into his pants and shot Spencer in his gut. Spencer staggered back and and pressed his hand to his wound. He slowly brought his newly bloody hand to his eyes and collapsed on the dirt.
