Given that the post-canon timeline the staff has established can get a little complex at times (and given how many different guides we have), this thread was written to serve as a general reference to the Star Wars guides. This is pretty much our Table of Contents for making a Star Wars character, and RPing with other players in the Star Wars section.
Character Creation
If you'd like to make a character, this is our Character Application Form. It's pretty straightforward. The different fields all have a sentence or two of description to help you get a feel for what we're looking for, along with links to a couple of guides that I'll reference here as well.
If you'd like to create a brand new type of starship, or just want to detail the ins and outs (quirks, modifications, etc.) of a ship your character owns, this is our Ship Application Form. Like the character application, the ship application contains links and description to guide you through the process. We do ask that any characters with a ship that holds more than two people fill one of these out.
If you'd like to create a brand new faction to use in our Star Wars section, this is our Faction Application Form. This form also has a little direction to help you out for reference's sake.
Canon
We've pored over the existing canon to do the best to try and create a unique environment where all of the most popular factions can exist in a way that allows you to make use of them, while still making sense with a natural progression of events.
With that in mind, you're going to want to have a look at the Star Wars: The Story So Far thread. In it, you'll find three important posts - One with a brief introduction to the current state of the Galaxy, one with a more in-depth timeline of the events that have led to the current day, and one with a color-coded map that shows a general view of the Galaxy and which factions control which areas.
Canon Factions
For those of you looking to make characters affiliated with a specific faction, below you'll find a link to each of the individual canon factions we're using in the lore here. It should be noted that while most of the canon factions are assumed to exist in some capacity or another, these are the ones with the most control over the galaxy. Other major factions that we don't have guides for, such as the Yuuzhan Vong, are either treated as no longer existing, don't yet exist, or otherwise aren't relevant to the current point in the timeline. Inside these guides you'll find a summary of the faction and what it stands for, as well as an overview of the type of ships they utilize. The ship breakdown is modeled after the Anaxes War College system, with the addition of the carrier class of ship and a section for their Strikecraft and Transports. Furthermore, these ships types are only the most common ones utilized by the faction, and are not to be taken as the end-all decisions on what ships members of a faction are limited to. There are hundreds of ships in star wars canon and legends, and even more fan creations, most of which will be perfectly acceptable if used in a reasonable manner.
