Personality: Mr. X was designed to have a low level of tact, so that there would be no margin for error in this particular sector (the former human head of the company was seen to be too lenient and not "perfect" enough). Cold and calculating, Mr. X is completely business motivated and has no time for screw-ups, but very (and I mean very) rarely lets people off with a warning. Sometimes seen as a cruel and sadistic, he takes pleasure in the punishment (or "purification" of under-performing or disobedient members of the sector.
The ZAX Model Computer A.I. known as "Mr. X" was launched online in the mid-year of 2068, to serve as a replacement for it's predecessor who had been deemed inadequate. Originally, X would have a coalition leadership with the Commander of the Security Force and did up until 2077, when the bombs fell. From here on out, he ruled alone and above all others with the Security Chief as his subordinate (although the Chief did what X couldn't in terms of retrieval and employee management, etc.). The company went into hiding for the next 70 years under X's orders, occasionally sending out scientists in HAZMAT Suits to monitor the area. Mr. X demonstrated and exemplified his method of leadership quite vividly during this time, with over 300 people executed and many others given horrific punishments (usually being made to visit one of the paranormal objects or beings, such as "Violet" (a Psyker with the ability to project one's worst nightmares into "reality) or X-05 (a mutant found in ruins after the war, able to regenerate it's limbs and body parts at an incredible rate, but also extremely hostile). His autocratic, right-wing rule was also increased by the production of posters with a faceless man with a question mark in place of a face, with the caption
"Work is progress, progress is power". Other slogans and posters were used too, such as a posters with a red line cut through a bible with the caption "The only God here is I, Mr. X". For certain employees, this was good and the unity and uniformity felt good, although to others this was outrageous (but what could they even do?)
Eventually, Mr. X allowed the members of the Violet Sector to leave the confinement of the facility and search the surrounding area. In the years that came, mutants such as Telefrags were captured by their containment team and brought into the facility for testing. Mr. X himself wondered as to the source of these freaks of nature, but had bigger fish to fry. Vault 66, a nearby Vault-Tec vault, interested him. With access to some top secret files databases left over from before the war, Mr. X discovered the Vault's purpose and experiment. The Lost Traveler, specifically, seemed like an almost perfect item for the collection of paranormal specimens within the Violet Sector's facilities. Attempts were made to breach the Vault on the orders of X, but the Vault's inhabitants and the extreme abilities of TLT meant that many of the VS's men died (and those who didn't were severely traumatised). Seeing that there was no viable method of breaching the Vault, X ordered the Security Chief (James Benson at the time) to seize this... for now. In anger, X had Benson executed and his body hung from a burnt out tree.
More time became dedicated to the studying and capturing of the mutated specimens, which X deducted must be failed experiments from an organising similar to his known as the project (which they had had dealing with in the past, pre-war). This went on for several years, until X felt there was enough of them. Now almost out of options, X ordered that the locals (The Port, The Waves, and The Riverhead Tribals) be contacted to see if they possessed items of interest to them. Seeing as they were hostile and clearly denizens, X ordered them to be branded enemies of the agency and several battles between them were fought in the future.
More recently, Mr. X took interest in a new mutant that had arisen from the depths of some secret laboratory, known as the "The Watcher" by some locals. With the ability to control the other mutants found in Long Island, Mr. X made it a priority for him to be captured. Attempts are still ongoing, but due to his excellent connection with the minds of other mutants they have been met with fierce difficulty. The current Security Chief (Elijah Maxis) has been dealt various punishments for his failure to bring X what he wants, but so far he hasn't faltered under the pressure they carry.
The current aim Mr. X has is to capture The Watcher, for use against the Lost Traveler in a bid to gain access to Vault 66. Time will tell if his grand solution will work...
