w/ Focus Optics upgrade & 650nm wavelength ruby laser
Like many Brotherhood initiates, Brain found the AER9 a challenge to master. The weapon was front heavy, and it's lack of iron sights or any aiming aid was disheartening. It soon became obvious, however, that Brian was the most gifted among his group with the weapon. Tasked with breaking them down and rebuilding them daily due to the weapon's high maintenance requirements, he understood the weapon in and out. The diverter, manufactured by General Atomics International, worked as well as the day it was manufactured. Brian quickly grew to love the weapon. A paladin commented on his marksmanship with the laser weapon one day, and the young man realized he may have found something that was useful and he enjoyed doing.
With little other options and borderline antisocial behavior, the initiate trained daily, and by night he found ways to get lost in the computers. As his skills in combat training grew steadily, so did his mastery of all things RobCo. He was fortunate that ninety percent off all tech was touched in some way by the industrial giant, because once Brian Wolfe had understood the company's programming and protocols, his technological touch proved to be the young man's second calling.

{Spoiler}{ - 2276: The Birth of the Outcasts }
Brian and the other Brotherhood renegades left the Citadel with crates of equipment and technology to set up operations out of Fort Independence. They were led by Henry Casdin, who Brian felt shared his ideals and his faith in the East Coast Brotherhood. From that day forward, Brian Wolfe was marked as a traitor and an enemy by his former brothers. His group would soon be labeled of "Outcasts" by his former family, and the name would be embraced.
As the group reached Fort Independence, they were engaged in a firefight. Raiders had claimed the ruins, but the Outcasts eliminated the threat, suffering no causalities and minimal damage.
The Outcasts soon decided on a way that would distinguish them from their soft-hearted brethren. They painted their armor black and red. They soldiers began to set new plans in the Capital Wasteland, an agenda that did not include helping defenseless wasters from raiders parties.
The beginning was difficult, and the Outcasts were forced to focus on scavenging robots increase numbers.
