One night in Shelter Island, 2247, a baby was brought into this world by Richard and Tessa Tartarus. They named their son, Reginald. Richard Tartarus was an officer in the Guards, the rank of Captain. He advised the Lieutenant Colonel on many things, but retired from his post to look after his son, as Tess wished to remain in the Guards' Military. She was given leave for a few weeks, but left for combat as soon as it ended. Tess was a Lieutenant. Tess was killed before Reginald's first birthday, in combat against the Riverhead Confederacy. Richard was in denial for a long time, and cared for Reginald more then normal to compensate for his mother's loss. One time, when another child was picking on him, Reginald snapped, and beat the child up with the self defense techniques Richard taught him.
Reginald joined the Guards at the turn of his sixteenth birthday. He had a great deal of expectancy, what with his father's rank. They expected him to do great things, and thought he'd either be an officer, like his father, or a Color Guard, which Reginald preferred. Being a Color Guard was what Reginald wanted to be. Reginald's father taught him quite a lot about what was expected of a Guard, how to succeed as a Guard. This information helped him quite a lot, and he still values it to this day. He was able to be effective when combating the Riverhead Confederacy, the mutants from Montauk, the people from the Port and the Flanders Bay Pirates.
In 2270, when Reginald was twenty three, the Color Guards had chosen to evaluate Reginald Tartarus for the Color Guards. This was his dream, he couldn't screw this up. His test was to be effective in assisting a the Color Guards in fighting a large band of Riverhead Confederacy bandits. The battle was long, and Reginald probably would have died if not for Richard's advice. There were no casualties on the Guards' side, and all of the bandits were killed. The Color Guards were pleased with Reginald's skill in combating the Confederacy, and accepted him into their ranks. And with the advancement into Color Guards, came power armor, and advanced weapons. He chose the Minigun as his weapon of choice, and was given T-45d power armor.
The perks of being a Color Guard were plenty, he gained a great deal of respect from his peers, conscripted, and regulars alike. His friends before he became a Color Guard were happy with his advancement, showing if you work hard, you can get what you aspire to be. Reginald couldn't have been happier. He'd achieved his dream. Even in the Color Guards, he didn't stop working hard. He'd worked hard to get this far, there was no reason to stop. Reginald was once on a patrol, when they were attacked by Riverhead bandits, and started combat without thinking twice. He began shooting in the direction of the bandits, and while some ducked into cover, seven of the bandits were killed by his minigun. The other eight were taken out by his comrade's grenade, and fire. This proved that Reginald could effectively lay down cover fire while his comrades eliminated the enemy.
Over the next few years, Reginald was shaped into a great soldier, one basked in combat. His father, in his elderly age, had no reason to hang on to life, his son was one of the most well known Guards of the current age, and he had lived a prestigious life, gave in to his Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, a form of cancer. Many attended his funeral, and his eulogy, delivered by Reginald was one that brought tears to everyone in attendance. Richard was finally able to join his wife in Heaven, his dream. Reginald was not sad of his father's death, as he knew his father would not want him to be sad that he was gone, but be happy that he lived a great life.
Reginald did however, take solace in a dog that he had adopted. The dog in question, a male bloodhound by the name of Hades, which he found from the Greek Mythology he had read of. Tartarus, his last name, was a prison in the underworld, which Hades ruled over. And Tartarus had a great weakness for his dog, so it seemed that Hades ruled over Tartarus.
Reginald owns a house on Shelter Island, it isn't too fancy, one bedroom, one bathroom, small living room, one story with an attic. It has a basement where Reginald stores his weapons and armor, Reginald does however, store his clothing in his wardrobe in his bedroom. He likes to keep the house clean, and really only uses it to relax.
