Australia - New South Wasteland
Australia can be a hard place to live in, even Pre-War, so imagine how worse the Great War made it. Imagine death, everywhere. The nuclear fallout dried out most of the land, turning even the lushest forests into dying, or dead forests. The ground turned to cracked dirt. It may only rain three or four times a year. And even that is minimal. The temperature is a constant 35-50 degrees celcius, depending where you are.
This is a guide for the region of Australia known as New South Wasteland. Pre-War it was the state of New South Wales, the central hub of Australia, more or less.
Geography
New South Wasteland was fairly diverse before the nuclear fallout. It had rainforests towards the north, lush hills and forests dotted the landscape, and swampland was fairly common along the coast. As previously stated, the war affected the biosphere a lot. There is now no longer any rainforests, as there is no rain. The forests have all burned out, and the swamp has simply dried up.
Inland, beyond the coast, is a barren no-mans land. Only the desperate and the terminally psychotic live off the coast. Completely barren, the desert that has seized this land is unrelenting. Get caught in a sandstorm without shelter, and you can expect your flesh to be sandblasted. Those that live in this inhospitable terrain are true survivalists.
