Born into the Brotherhood of Steel between a Paladin and Scribe. The names of Jak's parents will not be reported in this file. Jak's mother died at childbirth and the father soon after died on the field to a group of super mutants that ambushed their squad. The child was then taken under the my wing and I acted as a sit in mother for the boy. Jak grew close to my daughter Chloe quickly and they even plan to become Scribes together in the future.

Jak started his training at a earlier age then most hoping to achieve the technical prowess that his mother had, but he did not have the skill. But what he did have was the will to fight for the technology his mother studied. Seeing this Chloe chose to follow him in becoming a squire. They trained hard for the next years. Eventually Jak had become a Paladin, and Chloe a Knight. They were placed in the same squad where they were ordered their designations. Chloe went under the name of Iron and Jak was placed under the name Shadow.

The formation of Iron Shadow was to form a scouting party to reach the outer edges of the Capital Wasteland. Where some odd flashes in the sky were seen and word of rare technology had spread. Chloe being the head of the group and the rank of Knight Sergeant after her training would lead their group into territory the Brotherhood had barely touched none the less taken a good solid look at.

A week had passed and Iron Shadow had finally made their movement to the outer edges of the Capital Wasteland. There had been no initial sites of the technology. But the group would not give up on one simple scan of the area. They ventured north but what they found was a massive city. Jak being the sentinel of the party was ordered to climb into the near barn and see if his scope could see anything. Jak had done his duties finding nothing out of the ordinary besides the area was bordered with debris from the city.

Upon the inspection they moved forward hoping that the city held the technology they were looking for. When entering the city it was quiet. Too quiet for comfort, but then again it was a vacant area of the Wasteland. Chloe and her squad moved in setting up a camp for the night within the city within a damaged building. In the middle of the night Claymore, the close quarters tactical member of the squad left to use the restroom. But had not returned for about thirty minutes. Chloe getting worried sent Jak to go see what happened or if John needed assistance. What Jak found when he got to the area was horrific. A Deathclaw had been feasting on John's body and using the night vision function of his Sniper T-45d Power Armor he had found out that the city was infested with the beasts.

When finding this out Jak had quietly made his way back taking his steps slowly and carefully hoping to keep in the shadows like he had before. When he made his way back to camp he heard screaming and yelling. Before lazers had shot of the camp site. It was apparent that Deathclaws had taken an offense. Jak rushed in seeing Chloe, and Carter cornered by a Deathclaw Alpha. The Deathclaw had been injured with plasma burns. Singed power armor of the Technical member of the squad Holly was laying at it's feet. It was clear she had used her belt of Plasma grenades to take her own life in attempt to save Chloe and Carter.

Jak rushed into action taking his Sniper rifle out from his holster upon the back of his armor. He took aim at the center of the beasts torso over the spine and shot, the shot had missed the spine by a few inches. The beast enraged turned and charged Jak ramming him with the horns upon his head. The power armor blocked the horns from piercing the mans ribs but it did hit him with enough force to knock him out.

When waking up Jak reported that Carter and Chloe had dragged him to safety but Carter was injured. Jak had said that Chloe and Carter both fought off the weakened and injured Alpha and had slowly made their way through the city to the outskirts. With their Tech Member, and Close Quarters Member dead they were to head back. Carter refused to leave John and Holly's bodies behind and Chloe agreed. They were to stay and wait for an opening to enter the city once more. It was nearly morning when they found that the Deathclaws had become slower and most of them had started to rest even.

At that moment Jak stood and looked down at the injured Carter and Chloe who was shaken to see how her first mission could be this bad. Jak's words were "I'm going in and you two are going to stay and relax. It was my fault for not following John in the first place so I could report that there were Deathclaws in the area." Being the member of the squad that specialized in sneaking and recon he was equipped to make his way in and out without being noticed. He then walked off into the city. Several hours passed before Jak came back with two holotags clutched in his hands. The group had retrieved their fallen comrades. Atleast what they could take back.

After the objective of retrieving the holotags was finished they had started their trek home. A long march along the wasteland's river. But their trip was cut short when Carter fell due to blood loss. Their Tech support was their medic. It was hard to treat his wounds. Jak took Med-X out of his satchel and injected it into Carter. Chloe ordered Jak to go scout out some Stimpaks since their med-kits were abandoned at the city. Jak did so and scouted out to Canterbury Commons. There he had seen robots and some man who seemed to be leading them called the Mechanist. He had sought out the help he needed in obtaining Stimpaks and started his way back to Chloe and Carter.

When he returned Carter had already passed and Chloe had been sobbing over him with her helmet off. Jak soothed her as much as he could in the current time before eventually convincing her to stand and return to their home after taking Carter's holotag. Several days have passed and they were almost home. But one wrong step left them down and out. Chloe had taken a step onto rubble in attempt to get the higher ground to see if the path ahead was safe even taking off her helmet to get a better view. Jak keeping an eye out at the bottom of the pile. What he heard horrified him. A gunshot sounded and blood had covered his power armor and vizor. When he wiped the blood away so he could see he saw a headless Chloe who fell limp and rolled down the rubble. Jak fell to his knees and wrapped his arms around the body.

He sat there motionless for several seconds before taking out his silenced 10mm pistol. He scouted out whoever did this. When he found the Raider on the top of a gas station building with the sniper in hand he flanked him climbing up the ladder to the top. When he poked his head over the edge the butt of the raider's sniper rifle met the Paladin's forehead and Jak fell to the ground with a loud thud. The raider would jump down in attempt to bash Jak's head in with the butt of his rifle like he attempted to before. Rolling over he avoided the strike. He was now unarmed due to dropping his pistol when he fell. The battle was tense as the winds blew past the two parties.

The raider took up his rifle and aimed for the armored man's left shoulder. Jak took off into a sprint forward before taking his knife out as a shot fired off. Out of the smoke the sight of the sentinel who had taken a bullet to the shoulder driving his knife into the raider's throat. The Raider must have lost his mind or just been insane enough to try and attack the two in attempts to snag their weapons. Injured and mentally broken Jak made his way home with Chloe's unarmored body over his shoulder. When he got back to the outpost of the Capital Wasteland's Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel he collapsed.

He woke up several hours later where I was sitting next him holding his hand with tears in my eyes for the loss of my daughter. It was then where I reported that Chloe and Jak had formed a relationship and were planning on marrying after their mission. I took Jak's report and filed it into the archives after running it through the Elder and several Squires for mapping and filing. Later on it was discovered that the city they wandered into was Old Olney that the squad had wandered into. Then was when the Holotags were taken from Jak except for Chloe's.

Soon after the events of this mission Jak had left the Brotherhood of Steel and started to wander the Capital Wasteland avoiding the Brotherhood at all costs. I think it was because of the guilt he carried from losing his squad and his first love in battle. I thought of coming with him, but my duties lay with the Brotherhood.
