Civilisation Name: The Veiled Supremacy
Civilisation Type: Pirate Empire
U.G.C Standing: Semi-Hostile with the U.G.C, the pirates will shoot UGC ships on sight nearing Supremacy space. They’ll also often raid and sometimes capture UGC vessels.
Other Civilisation/Group Associations:
Though they’re mostly hostile to all civilisations, some do pay protection taxes, and will have Supremacy troops and vessels whenever needed (for a modest fee)
Civilisation
Civilisation Government: Loose dictatorship ruled by the pirate lord T-Rok
T-Rok
Civilisation Overview: The Veiled Supremacy is where you go when you’ve pissed off absolutely everyone and you have nowhere else to go. Criminals, mercenaries, bounty hunters, slavers and all other forms of universal scum reside here in their stolen ships stowed away inside the Supremacy’s space stations. The Supremacy (as it is often shortened to) law system is one based off a similar system to that of the old world pirates.
“Each man will, obey their captain’s word; have an equal share of the loot, with the captains getting slightly more; will not attempt to flee or escape and keep any secret from the captain; not steal from other crewman or the captain; if rescued, swear allegiance to captain of said rescue vessel with expressed consent ; not force a rescued marooned person to swear allegiance to the captain; not assault another crewman aboard the ship; not be intoxicated whilst in the service a captain out of free time; keep maintenance of their own weapons and gear; keep focus during a battle and not cower in the face of danger; not force himself, herself or theirself onto another without their expressed consent.”
Failing to do any of these can and will result in the following; being marooned on a planet (with an atmosphere and no sentient life) with a bottle of water and a single meal, a pistol and a single bolt; immediate submission into the arena; and finally death.
Supremacy space covers a large area, mainly kept within a humongous celestial dust cloud, though asteroid fields and nebulas are also under Supremacy hands. Occupying space stations once left by the previous occupants, the Supremacy now use these places as their homes. Though they have few actual planets under their control, they have many asteroid bases.
Civilisation Technologies: Almost all technology that the Supremacy has is stolen from the other civilisations that inhabit the galaxy. The space stations they inhabit were taken from their previous owners when the first pirate lord, Thalin Kross led an assault which resulted in the sector of space now under the control of the current pirate Lord. Due to their thieving ways, it’s hard to tell what exactly the Supremacy has, only that it could really be anything. They are able to live their lives on space stations, and they do have a working sector-wide entertainment grid in the form of the arena fights, along with gambling and other forms of entertainment. Deflector shielding is also a must for both space stations and ships, given the large asteroid fields they inhabit. Some asteroids have also been placed in geostationary orbits around larger asteroid bases and space stations, allowing for protection and more space. Some asteroids have also been hollowed out by private men and women for their own personal homes and hideaways.
Civilisation Military: though the Supremacy is run by a bunch of pirates they are nonetheless organised pirates. Whilst some members do prefer to go it alone outside of Supremacy space, organised raids led by Supremacy fleets are quite known, led by the biggest ship in the fleet. These raids are never spontaneous and they are always planned, having been put together by the pirate lord’s strategists who organise such attacks whenever the Lord issues an order to have them. Many different types of ships are used in such raids, but the Supremacy largely uses siege ram attacks in which armour plated shunt ships throw themselves at the enemy vessel and imbed their noses into the hull of the vessel. Once in the armour plating is retracted and floods of pirate troops clamber into the enemy vessel. Sometimes they raid said ships, other times they just occupy the vessel and take it back into Supremacy sector space. EMPs are often used as well as small gremlin bots (which are often smuggled onto a vessel in the disguise of cargo or gifts.
The Marauder is the Supremacy’s flagship owned and inhabited by the Pirate Lord himself. Vast in size, the Marauder is almost the size of a moon. It is terribly slow, and armed to the absolute teeth. There are many hangar bays within the spine of the ship, whilst the command bridge is located at the front and the upper portion of the ship. Bellow the Marauder’s bridge there are two large armour plates protecting the vulnerable part of the ship. It has never been seen to open, but as it does it reveals a large anti-planetary cannon. Given its fearsome weapon, it is believed that there was only ever one other version of the Marauder’s type ship made, but it has been lost to history. It is rumoured that the pirate lord is looking for it however; knowing that having two Marauders would come in handy. The Pirate Lord will often use this ship to publically execute people who have angered him or broken his laws. Given the vastness of the ship and its constant submersion in its home gas cloud, only the tip ever pokes out just enough to see the bridge and one of its guns firing out, before returning back into the cloud to remain hidden away.
The Marauder Within the Nomi Expanse
Supremacy land forces are often comprised of bulky warriors in armours that’ve been repurposes for their usage. The tactics that are used by the Supremacy are often to flood the enemy when they are recovering. Shock tactics are often used, although they will not kill needlessly. Those that give up or surrender will often find themselves just marooned on a planet. Those that put up a fight and impress a captain will either find themselves being offered a job, or captured and then returned to their home sectors out of respect. Sometimes the pirates are just after the loot, in which case, vessels suffer minimal loses of life and just lose cargo. Very rarely is an execution order given, but when it is, it is often a bloodbath of epic proportions.
The Supremacy siege ships
Civilisation History: Though piracy is said to be one of the oldest professions in the galaxy, next to prostitution and slave master, it took one man to convert the larger portion of said pirates in an organised empire, when the other empires immerged. This man was named Thalin Kross. Originally from some desolate human colony, Kross quickly grew disenfranchised with his masters after being enrolled into their military. Stealing a ship, Kross fled the colony and vanished into space. Sometime later, Kross was discovered as a captain of his own vessel. The angry militant drop out had become a charismatic leader of men ruling with fear and aggression. Over many years he captured many vessels and took them back to his newfound base within the Nomi Expanse, a dust cloud. Over the years Kross became infamous throughout the galaxy, and his pirate fleet equally so. Over time, his empire grew out of the expanse into the nearby asteroid fields and nebulas. It was then Kross targeted the space stations littered in and around his territory, owned by a race of traders known as the Gorganas. Kross’s war with the Gorganas was almost unprovoked and though Kross held no ill will against the traders, their space stations were of tactical necessity. With habitable planets few and far between in the Nomi Expanse and the area around, it became necessary. Kross ultimately kicked the Gorganas out of the space stations, killing thousands in his wake.
With the space stations under his control, Kross installed station managers whose job was to keep track of the daily goings on, whilst making sure taxes were paid to Kross These managers were given the authority to manage themselves as a kind of tributary state, each with their own individual rules and regulations… although Kross’s pirate laws were still in effect regardless of where a person was. As time went on, and the empire expanded it attracted other versions of galactic scum. Slavers began operating in some of the space stations. Some bought asteroids to set up their own places for storage. Similar things happened with mercenary outfits, rich bounty hunters, political and criminal exiles. Kross’s wealth soon increased too, and that is when the vultures came.
Though there were many others tried their hand at removing Kross from the equation, either physically or in a space battle, none were successful. Behind the scenes however, a master strategist began planning Kross’s demise. T-Rok was a low level pirate when he arrived on the scene. He was ambitious and charismatic. His crew on his tiny vessel were all people he had previously beaten in battle that he had hired. He had been chasing a fabled duo of ships, larger than almost anything he had seen, relics from an old empire hidden away in the darkness of space. Knowing that even if he only found one of these vessels, it would give him the power to overthrow Kross and take control of the pirate empire.
For years T-Rok searched for the vessel, flying across the galaxy, and searching every no inhabited sector. Had he have been an explorer for one of the legitimate empires, T-Rok probably would’ve been classified as a fabled explorer and worshipped by that merit alone. Unfortunately that wasn’t the kind of fame T-Rok wanted. It would eventually take him three decades to find the ship, and when he did he certainly got what he had dreamed of. The vast ship was indeed powerful. Though it was kept in darkness, T-Rok could see the stars being eclipsed as he got closer to the vessel. At first there was no life aboard, and the ship was relatively derelict. It could move, and the guns still worked, but it was far from habitable.
T-Rok spent the next few years repairing the ship with the help of slaves he bought as well as assistance from people Kross had slighted. Once it was up and running properly however, T-Rok engaged the warp drive and sailed it right into the Nomi expanse. Without hesitating, T-Rok brought an end to Kross with a volley from his ship. There were no words spoken between the two, and Kross never knew who killed him. The last thing he saw was a giant vessel coming towards him and firing. Mercilessly, T-Rok assumed power. He renamed the empire to the Veiled Supremacy, took up the mantle of lord and began his campaign against the rest of the galaxy.
Under T-Rok, the pirates became highly organised and a significant threat to the space immediately around the Nomi Expanse. Punishments were handed out aggressively. Though Kross had given order to the chaos, it was T-Rok who made sure it stuck. To pacify his pirate kin, T-Rok created an entertainment network in the expanse. Gambling became quite popular, as did brothels, aggressive sports and racing. The Arena however, was T-Rok’s greatest introduction. The arena became widely popular in the expanse and further out, for those with the capacity to get the signal, as it was something of a blood sport. Brutal as it was in the Roman Empire, the arena was a place where those that broke the pirate code went to settle their debts. Slaves would fight to gain their freedom, and pirates would participate just for the fun of it.
With his empire solidified and his people on his side, T-Rok spends his time governing aboard his ship and maintaining hiss borders. Raids are often sent out of the expanse, at his order, organised by his trusted advisors and strategists. T-Rok’s Supremacy has become a rather large thorn in the side of the Galaxy, and though no move has been made against them, T-Rok is sure it is going to come eventually. In the meantime he will find his ship’s sister to keep the galaxy in line.
Species
The Veiled Supremacy doesn’t have any specific species majority, in fact there are about as many humans here as there are any other species in the galaxy. Any race that is capable of independent thought and act as an individual can be found amongst the population. There is very little racial prejudice or aggression (there is just honest aggression generally). That being said, those races with more of an aggressive stereotypical trait will be found more populous here than those that are generally peaceful. So long as a ship pays taxes to their home station, no one really cares who or what a person is.
Bipeds are arguably a lot more common than those with different forms, though quadrupeds are quite common too. Animals, although uncommon, are a sight on the space stations, though mostly as pets. There is however a black market, and with a black market comes the exotic animal trade, and as such many animals from the entire galaxy can be found in these places. It is not uncommon for pirates to have animals aboard their ships to help with any possible infestations that may occur.
Robots are quite common too, though usually in a serving capacity. These robots serve many roles that aren’t filled by slaves, though there are exceptions. Individual robots have been known to be successful pirates and have proved to be quite intimidating and so some are utilised in the pirate fleet it. There are some traders who work for the Supremacy who in fact smuggle small droids disguised as other objects onto ships the Supremacy has targeted. Though these droids are in essence non-sentient, they have excellent programming that helps them in their role as saboteurs.

Inhabiting Species: Most of the species from the Supremacy live here as it is the capital and a highly valued port.
System Overview/History: The first station to be taken from the Gorganas, Royal station is the capital of the Supremacy territory (that isn’t the Marauder). Located just outside the Nomi gas cloud, it is sitting out in the open with it’s solar panel arms armed at it’s sun and locked in geostationary orbit. Many ships reside in this station, and there is a constant stream of traffic in and out of the system. Though there isn’t a manager at Royal station, it is governed by T-Rok himself, who resides in the Marauder. The Marauder, Royal Station’s protector, is constantly hidden within the Nomi expanse dust cloud, along with the standing pirate fleet.
The system itself sits at the top of the Supremacy territory and is furthest away from the galactic core. There are no planets in this system, though there are a couple of captured asteroids, which provide the only landmass in the system. The Nomi Expanse is vast, reaching almost to the edge of the system. The cloud is made up of hydrogen and dust particles normally associated with planets such as silica, carbon and iron.
