Circa 2283
Volker sat outside Fiend territory of Vegas, polishing his Plasma Caster. He had recently taken a job to kill every Brotherhood of Steel member in Vault 3. They had recently taken up residence in there. Volker estimated around 40 paladins, 30 knights. Many recruits. Time to get business done. The person he took the job off of told him to wait for a second person to assist him in taking it. Someone called "Spectre". He had hoped this Spectre knew what he was doing.

Spectre came sprinting past Volker in a dead run toward the vaults heavy door. To Spectres amazement the door was open and had no one guarding the front, which he found interesting. This was one tactic that Spectre rarely used, but given the circumstances it played out perfectly in his mind.
He reached the entrance, and he was holding a baseball sized orb in each hand, one for each. As Spectre passed through the portal, he analyzed that the entrance was in fact, guarded. He lit the fuses to the balls and hurled them forward, the objects igniting and sending smoke billowing out in every direction at a rapid pace.
The first man in power armor didn't even know what had happened unfortunately, simply because he was surrounded by a thick layer of smoke. Spectre had gotten on top of him, sliding a 12'' blade up under his helmet into his lower jaw and into his brain.
Spectre then navigated his way to the closest wall and behind cover as his shock and awe tactic began to unravel as bullets began pouring down the entrance of the vault through the smoke.

Volker looked at Spectre as he ran past, and left the rag on the ground, and lifted his plasma caster up.
"Time to go to work."
Volker entered the vault, shooting at anything that moved. He took cover opposite Spectre.
"I take it you're Spectre?"
As soon as there was a break in plasma and laser fire, Volker rotated out of cover and fired at just about everything. Nothing stopped him.

Spectre was a man of few words, and preferred to speak with action, especially with the absence of his sister to stop his decay into madness. The men that were firing at them used weapons that caused their shots fired to glow, and Spectre took full advantage of this.
He rolled out from his position in cover sprinting and began to perform his dance. His movement caused the dense smoke around him in the room to waft about as he took off running. His brown eyes rapidly snapped to the directions that the glowing rounds were flying in, and ducked and took cover when they began to come uncomfortably close.
The first man he tracked down through the nearly impossible to see through smoke met the same fate as the first man Spectre had encountered, only the way it was handled was different.
Spectre came up on the man in low with his knees bent. Spectre threw his right arm up, slamming his palm into the rifle and causing the firing weapon to smash into the mans helmet, and with the same motion, Spectre slipped his hand over the handle of the weapon and forced the man to squeeze the trigger of his own rifle, sending a plasma round through his own head.
As the lifeless body fell to the floor Spectre ripped the weapon from his hands before the body made contact on the concrete and rolled to the right as a stream of illuminated rounds began shifting toward him.
Spectre took shelter behind cover, and showed his disapproval of the incoming fire by sending his own volley of plasma rounds down through the smoke in all directions.

Spectre had a somewhat flamboyant way of handling his enemies. It was effective though, and that was all that mattered in Volker's mind. Volker stepped out of the smoke, full view of the paladins and knights defending against them. It was a sight that lingered in their mind, before Volker swiftly eliminated them.
Volker got behind cover against a wall, there was a somewhat large room, and it had quite a few paladins and two turrets defending against them.
"Don't suppose you have any more of those explosives?"
Volker fought with the sound of plasma, laser and ballistics to send his question to Spectre.

At Volkers question Spectre threw down the plasma rifle and moved himself around behind the cover he was against, pulling his rifle off of his back.
He wanted to see an explosion, Volker just never specified what kind.
Spectre shifted himself to the right side of the cover he was behind, keeping himself low in a crouched position to where the back of his boots were hitting his rear end. He held the rifles grip in his left hand as he raised his right arm upward. He had his right arm bent at the elbow with his right hand against his chest to use his arm as an aiming platform. To his advantage, the smoke was beginning to clear just enough to make out the clear bodies of armored Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. The downside was, they could get a bead on his position as well.
As the the enemies rounds came hitting all around the area Spectre was in, and some of them coming to close for comfort, Spectre took aim and pulled the trigger once. The firing pin hit the .50 caliber round inside the chamber, and the resulting combustion sent an ear deafening boom echoing throughout the room.
As the weapon recoiled, the slug spiraled out of the chamber and slammed into a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin. The round catching the man in the shoulder. As the round made impact it tore the mans arm off at the shoulder joint, and the sheer force of the impact sent him onto the floor grabbing at the now missing limb hile he screamed.
Spectre quickly pulled back on the bolt to his rifle with his firing hand, feeding a new projectile into the chamber before returning his hand to the trigger to pull it again. He sent another round into the leg of another armored soldier, sending him flailing onto the floor yelling through his metal helmet before Spectre took cover from the rounds that were now hitting directly where he was positioned.

Volker had never used a .50 calibre rifle himself, they had a hell of a kick, and were pretty good when you needed to shoot something in your front yard, from your back yard, through your house. The evidence was there, a Paladin was on the ground, flailing with his remaining arm.
Volker sat his caster on the ground and pulled his defender out, and began taking shots at the turrets.

Spectres brown eyes snapped onto a target through the dissipating smoke that was attempting to flank Volker from across the room while Spectre was popping his head out the gather an idea on where bodies were within the vaults interior entrance.
He raised his rifle, pulling the bolt back and feeding the third and final round from the magazine into the chamber. It took only two seconds for him to get a bead, and he pulled the trigger. The force of the slug caused the Knights body to slam against the wall the armored man was near, with a hole now in his chest.
With the last round in the magazine expended, Spectre tucked himself back behind cover, placing the rifle back where it belonged behind him, and while he was reaching in that area of his body his right hand produced another smoke bomb, which he promptly tossed farther down the room.
Spectre looked over at Volker as he picked up the plasma rifle he had previously thrown to the ground as smoke began to once again spurt out into the room. And with a hand movement motioning for Volker to push an advance, Spectre leaned out and began providing suppresive fire consisting of hot rounds of plasma, all the while ducking in and out from behind cover as the same form of projectiles continued to pelt the area near him.

Spectre knew what he was doing with that rifle. Another Knight dead. Volker had already picked up his Plasma Caster by the time Spectre gave the hand signal. Volker began shooting anything that moved. First the turrets. Volker felt bits of his armor heat up from plasma, and of course he felt the bullets hitting his armour, none of it mattered to him. They needed to die. It only took Volker twenty seconds to clear out the room.

The man with the skull stained onto his mask swung himself out from cover with the plasma rifle squeezed against his cheek, and his arms tucked tightly into his sides. As he slowly took each step to prevent his footfalls from making any noise, his gaze shifted from body to body, occasionally his weapons sights would snap onto a man still clinging to life on the floor before Spectre pulled the trigger to send him into darkness.

"And we move onward."
Volker walked into the the corridor leading further down into the Vault, and defenders were already on their way. Volker was met with fairly heavy resistance. There were about 5 paladins, two behind small cover. Cover or no cover, they would soon be dead.
Shots of green illuminated the area.

Spectre darted from cover to cover until he reached his target, a Brotherhood of Steel soldier donned in full power armor. To most it would have been like staring at a symbol of unstoppable power, but to Spectre, a man who used to actively engage the Brotherhood on a regular basis, it was just another series of motions.
He came up behind the armored man, knife drawn. The knife found the gap between the soldiers helmet and shoulder pads, then pushed pushed its way into the soft flesh until it made a metal on metal sound as the tip of the blade hit the other side of the mans neck and connected to the metal on his armor.
The man desperately made grabbing motions at his neck in an attempt to save his own life, even though he was already dead. With Spectres free right hand he reached down and grabbed the mans plasma rifle while he kept the dying man upright with his left hand, knife still embedded in his neck.
The surrounding Paladins and Knights began opening fire on Spectre, the plasma rounds burning into the mans armor in front of him as Spectre hunkered down slightly behind his human shield, sending plasma rounds of his own into the concrete walls around him, as well as the armored hostiles.

Spectre seemingly did his own thing, ignoring the many Knights and Paladins that most likely had a clear shot on him. Volker didn't want his companion to die just yet. He provided cover fire against the Brotherhood.
One of the initiates tried the Spectre way of jumping onto your enemy. He leapt onto Volker, and wrestled him to the ground. The Initiate kept punching Volker's helmet, only for a second, before Volker drove a knife deep into the initiate's stomach. Volker rolled behind cover before the others could fire upon him. He had to reach over and drag his plasma caster behind his cover.
