It has been decided today that Intelligent Deathclaws will no longer be allowed for creation. Previously it took around 4-6 months to be held eligible for Deathclaw-Hood following a strict set of rules regarding their creation and play. The Race Guide for Fallout has been updated accordingly.
This means that all previous Deathclaw Characters will need to follow this new rule, and either get a race change or be retired and only used in Non-Canon or Freeform Roleplays. To those whom this effects, I apologise.
Now on with the future!

Tis for the best, really.
I never even tried to make one, because I never understood how I would use one. All the Wastelanders would run or try and kill me. No questions, and without fail each time, I'm sure. No one would trust him, no one would speak to him, and no one would go near him.
How would that work in any roleplay?

A Deathclaw wearing clothes solves all of those issues. It's an anomaly and would naturally, momentarily cause a pause in any sort of hostile actions toward said monster.
If you're intelligent, you can wear pants. If you're not intelligent enough to wear pants, you shouldn't be a character.

Hey if you're remotely intelligent you can patch together some panels of leather, sure it would be a shoddy job and would look like special ed work, but they would be pants.

Shoot if you really want to go the extra mile you could have a pant leg through each leg and wrap each leg in string. Sure it would look like an 8 year old dressed himself but it would make a distinction that there is something different going on up in that noggin.

In all honesty i'm against restricting people to what characters they can RP as far as saying with a flat out "no" that they can't do it without reason as long as there are demands that are met. It just brings me back to Ara, and Dawg knows what I am talking about with the Akilae (no one else will get the reference sorry). Some things should just be restricted to advanced and trusted rpers and they should be allowed to play these difficult roles simply because for them it's fun and challenges their creativity and writing.
Then again you need a criteria to filter such people. After all, just because you are strong and have a huge advantage over almost everything around you does not mean you have no weakness and that you cannot die at any given moment.

Take it from me, Dizzy. The only active person on here with a deathclaw. They aren't a challenge, they're downright impossible to play. It's so very easy to overpower other characters, taking away their creative freedom. Hell, I used Nero to scare away another person in a thread. Not proud of it, but it happened so easily. Deathclaws are overpowered, extremely restrictive, and are a waste of time, in my opinion.
