He looks at situations from all angles, before proceeding in anything.
History
Born of Saleucami, Clars grew up in the workshop of the droid factories on the planet with his parents who were in the employ of Baktoid industries. Whilst he had no real responsibilities as a kid, parts would often find their way into his ownership. As a child he would endlessly tinker with them, and while not really understanding anything at first, he eventually figured things out and began helping his father build and maintain the droids at the factory.
As he grew up, his skills with droid mechanics grew, and it soon looked like he would become an engineer, just like his father. Clars was convinced of the case too, when he was given a job alongside his father aiding in constructing the security droids the company decided to start building. He continued in this role until he turned nineteen, and that’s when everything changed.
During 13 ABY, Clars was to meet the newest investor in Baktoid Industries, along with his father and the other engineers. Stood amongst his co-workers, Clars watched as a Hutt slid into the room with his fellow board members. He watched as his father flinched at the feeling of the Hutt’s eyes scanned the crowd, before settling on Clars, who stood proudly, which at the time he didn’t realise might be considered defiantly. He remembered the Hutt laughing loudly, before beckoning him and his father over before greeting them. They talked about the Hutts ideas for a series of battle droids, based on a version of droids they had already been using as security droids. Clars spoke freely, whilst his father was more reserved. The Hutt just smirked, pleased with the conversation and by the end of their meeting requested Clars and his father oversaw the development, with Clars acting as a go-between with the Hutt and the company, seemingly impressed with the boy’s forthright nature. Clars’ father found himself unable to refuse the Hutt’s request, not that he was too put out by the idea of a promotion. Still… he was worried about his son being so close to a Hutt.
Over the next year, Clars and the Hutt, whom he found to be known as Nasrii, had surprisingly little contact beyond a few progress report. The two drank together on a couple of occasions and when the year was over and the droid army was prepared, it was gathered on Saleucami and loaded onto Nasrii’s ships. Nasrii then demanded Clars and his father board his flagship and witness Nasrii’s assault on Nal Hutta. Clars had never seen war before that day, if he was honest, he regretted every moment of it. It left him with a bad taste in his mouth as he watched the battle from the bridge window of Nasrii’s ship. It was even worse on the surface. Burning wreckage was everywhere, and hundreds were dead. All the while, he saw Nasrii laughing as he looked over his conquered lands. It was then he realised the Hutts were something to be feared.
As Nasrii waged his war against the other Hutts, Clars’ father returned to the droid factories to oversee construction of more droids. Nasrii however, had demanded that Clars remain with them, though Clars had no idea why. He’d find out years later, Nasrii had plans for the Twi’lek, not that Clars had any choice in the matter.
Though Clars was kept out of the fighting, he remained in Nasrii’s presence in private; they talked often about many things. More than once, Clars’ curiosity got the better of him, which brought Nasrii’s ire, though it never seemed the Hutt ever wanted to kill him. Over time, Clars had learned much in Nasrii’s presence, and unbeknownst to him, it had an effect on him too. He grew to see people’s weaknesses, and read them like a datapad. He learned strategy and manipulation, and how to use charisma to get what he wanted. Soon enough he didn’t remember what it was like to be some random kid sat in his father’s workshop tinkering with mechanical things. Sometimes he wondered if Nasrii had done this on purpose, having seen something in him back in their first meeting on Saleucami.
All the while, the war raged on, Clars studied through exposure. He was taught how to shoot a blaster, and soon enough knew how to defend himself if the situation ever required it. The war slowly turned in Nasrii’s favour in 19ABY and soon he had won. It was around this time that Clars saw Nasrii for the last time. As the dust settled on Hutt Space, it was clear that Nasrii wasn’t satisfied, but as Clars had found out, when were Hutts ever satisfied? Nasrii had turned his hunger outside of Hutt Space, though Clars had begun to realise this as the war drew to a close. Nasrii’s knew that if he wanted to expand, he needed eyes higher up in the factions across the galaxy and as a result, decided to send a few of his trusted fellows into key positions. Clars was one such fellow. Knowing better than to refuse Nasrii’s wishes, Clars accepted his new role. Nasrii ordered him to infiltrate the New Republic’s senate and keep an eye on their aims.
Nasrii arranged it so that Clars looked like his life had been threaten by Nasrii, when it became “clear” Clars was trying to manipulate the Hutt into freeing enslaved workers, which in turn lead to Clars’ defection to the New Republic. After arriving in New Republic space, Clars was taken in by a diplomat, who was unaware of Clars’ hidden affiliation. Nasrii’s influence allowed Clars to open doors, further helping him to settle in the New Republic.
Clars began his ascent to political power at that point, though it has been slow. Clars has spent the time, being a representative of other refugees from Hutt expansionism, as well people from other sectors of the galaxy. He’s visited many planets, and gained many new contacts. Covertly however, he’s been gathering data for Nasrii in secret.
With his increase in wealth, he’s been able to outfit himself with his own personal ship, “The Tiseki”, which he uses to travel from place to place. Some still remain suspicious of him in the Republic, but he continues to do his work, both official and unofficial. He’s become known as the “ambassador of exiles” to some.
