Service Record
The Dragon’s Tooth was still in the shipyards above Lianna as the Moff council fractured, thus creating a sort of civil war amongst the Imperial remnants around 19 ABY. It didn’t even have a commanding officer at the time, as it wasn’t even flight ready, so it was barely even thought of whilst things happened elsewhere in the galaxy. At the time, the small fleet was being overlooked by the Imperial commander of the shipyard, Stannon Typhe.
Typhe, who heard of the news of the Moff Council’s breakup, then decided to take the fleet being made there and assumed control over the system. He had seen his posting as a personal insult, wanting to fight against the New Republic, so he took advantage and rushed many of the ships being made. He promoted several of his men to senior ranks. Despite a lot of them being promoted before their ‘time’, none said no. The Dragon’s Tooth was no different and was assigned a young, inexperienced trooper named Rica Cardell.
Stannon made his Imperial Star Destroyer II his flagship, and rather ironically went back to overseeing the fleet, waiting for it to be finished. After a month had passed, Stannon’s fleet was fully operational, with his loyal troopers spread out over the various ships. The Dragon’s Tooth was now flight worthy, though it still couldn’t go to hyperspace, as its hyperdrive had some problems, much to the ire of Stannon. The rush jobs of the other vessels had produced numerous problems throughout the other ships too. These problems would persist for several months
During 20 ABY Moff Varks seized control over the council (and over the Imperials as a whole), killing several other Moffs in the process. Stannon was one of many former Imps who were affirmed in their belief that it was better to be out of the former Empire than in. Stannon, unlike many other Imperial commanders, decided to go it alone rather than side with the New Republic. Stannon’s rule would go on for another two years, until Varks sent a force to assault Stannon’s fleet and bring him to heel. As Stannon’s fleet engaged Varks, the Dragon’s Tooth moved towards Stannon’s flagship. Pretending to be acting as a shield for Stannon’s ship, Rica Cardell ordered his men to board Stannon’s vessel. As the other ships in Stannon’s fleet fought against the other Imps, Cardell’s men boarded landing craft and flew onto the Imperial star Destroyer. As the fight erupted on Stannon’s ship, Cardell announced his allegiance to Moff Varks and requested his former allies to stand down. With that said Vark’s ships turned on his allies and destroyed them. Stannon met his end on the bridge of his ship, in what essentially was a firing squad.
Having been battered and bruised by the fight, the Dragon’s Tooth was still functional. Stannon’s ship was cast adrift as Cardell’s men returned back to the Dragon’s Tooth. After some minor repairs, the Dragon’s Tooth was merged into Varks’ force and was then taken back to Imperial Remnant Space. Cardell’s reward was the official captaincy on the Dragon’s Tooth.
Since its liberation at the hands of Varks’ ships, the Dragon’s Tooth has been assigned to the Urce Space Superiority Fleet. Now fully manned, it’s men retrained as space troopers, The Dragon’s Tooth patrols the Imperial/Republic border, being one of the first lines of defence, should the republic ever decide to invade.
