Baldur Ackman, a man born in the Brotherhood of Steel. His Father was a Paladin, as was the Father of his Father. Baldur strives to become a Paladin himself, but he has not gotten nearly there yet. His Mother on the other hand was a Scribe, working on the Technology rather than fighting. It could be said that Baldur pulled his combat skills from his Father, and his brains from his Mother, but became the master of none. Baldur's father, sadly, died in the Wastes, but he died a warrior's death. On the day he died, he sworn to honor his late Father's namesake and become a Paladin like there was never before, or die trying.
His early days of training went by fast, he was like a sponge, taking in any and every information that reached his ears. He showed potential, that's what mattered. He was by no means the "Biggest Badass" in the Chapter, but he was cut above the average.
After finally being accepted as a Warrior of the Brotherhood, he went over the line, pushing past the limits of his body which resulted in him getting bed-ridden for days onwards, and his actions were criticized by his superiors. He did learn his lesson, however, while training with a fellow member of the Brotherhood, whom showed him that brute strength was not all that mattered in battle. From that day onwards, he had gained a bit more perception about how things were.
He was eventually sent to the outside world, and on his first day he experienced pain. He got in the line of fire belonging to a seasoned Paladin, the man ceased fire as soon as he saw Baldur coming into sight, but it was too late. The damage had been done, and his right ear had quite a chunk melted off of it. Baldur made a quick recovery, but the missing piece will be a grim reminder of the outside world, to remind him every day he looks into the mirror, that the world is not safe. It never was.
But that was months ago. Today is the day Baldur receives his Power Armor training. And he is ready to finally become a true member of the Brotherhood of Steel.
