General Information
Name: Eldramach
Nicknames/Aliases: Eldy, Eldra, Scumbag, Asshole, Sleemo, Stoopa, Borg, Can of corrosion, Kung, laserbrain, nerfherder, Nerve Burner, One-eyed egg-sucking son of slime-devils, Peedunky, Ship-rat, Son of a (insert terrible thing here), pretty much any insult under the galaxy he’s probably been called it at some point.
Species: Human cyborg
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Homeworld: Kessel
Appearance
Height: 5’ 11”
Weight: 150lbs
Eye Color: His left eye is green, whilst his other eye is cybernetic, and thus has no colour.
Hair Style: combed black hair, medium in length
Hair Color: black
Facial Hair: Permanent five o’clock shadow
Skin Color: Reddish-brown,
Build: Tall and thin
Distinguishing Features: His cybernetic eye is quite the distinguishing feature, not being able to really cover it up unless he’s wearing a helmet of some kind.
Apparel: Whilst on duty he’ll have to wear a rebel flight suit, though on down time, he’ll opt for a more ‘scoundrel’ appearance, going for jackets, boots, a gun holster.
Weaponry: DL-44 Blaster Pistol
Equipment: He’ll usually carry a F-187 fusion cutter on his person, and some spare parts, particularly when readying for a flight. He’ll usually carry food and some credits as a precautionary measure. He has several implants on his body and those are as follows:
Ear Implant – A surgically implanted device, providing a higher sense of sound, whilst originally for the deaf or hard of hearing, it has been altered to increase Eldramach’s too, allowing him to hear conversations across a large room, even at a whisper. This does however, ‘cause Eldramach problems in places of loud noise, such as factories or mines.
Cybernetic eyes mod III Upgraded – A slight upgrade to the previous model, though quite a bit more intrusive. It was developed by a scientist working for Eldramach’s slave master. It gives the user an increase in visual acuity and recognition, as well as low/no-light vision, though continued use of this is taxing on the user, causing headaches. It is clearly visible, with quite a lot of metal covering the eye and covering much of the skin around it.
Neural Interface Device – Whilst initially developed to allow a pilot to directly plug into their ship, this ultimately overwhelmed pilots by the stimuli and was abandoned. It eventually made it into the hands of Eldra’s owner, whose scientist tweaked with the design, to allow for communication only. This allows Eldra to plug into a computer and communicate with it to find out problems with the device, much like an astromech. This would make repair jobs quicker when dealing with computers. Whilst it can be used to issue demands to a ship, it will always overwhelm anyone who uses it, as such it can only really be used for two minutes at a time, and really only useful in emergency situations. Continued use can cause a loss of consciousness, physical and mental pain in the form of stress, and it has been rumoured to potentially cause death.
Slave Tracking Device - Modified slightly so that the distance he's able to travel is increased, though the New Republic can track him all the time.
Other Details
Profession: Fighter pilot
Skills: Extensive Ship repair/maintenance, computer slicing, piloting both in combat and navigation, droid communication, good shot with a blaster (thanks to the implant mostly). He's also able to speak Ryl and Huttese.
Force-Sensitive: No
Training: Trained by other worker slaves in mining vehicle maintenance and operation, which eventually spread into droid maintenance, but that was never a real focus for him. When he became a pirate, his skills transferred to ship maintenance, and with his implants it allowed his ‘training’ to really come into its own. Since he was also one of few people on the ship, he would often find himself in the pilot’s chair, and very occasionally would be set to pilot the ship’s fighters. As a result he’s become quite good as a pilot.
Vehicle: N/A
Starship: Currently flies an x-wing, due to it being assigned to him when he became part of the squadron, though that might change if he gets the choice.
Other Possessions: Currently owns no possessions besides his civil clothes, everything he has access to is owned by the New Republic, including him.
Companions: Was assigned an R3-I6, he refers to as Reid. Eldramach says that it’s temperamental, though in all likelihood it just finds him rude as all hell.
Personal Information
Factional Affiliation: Currently affiliated with the New Republic in penial servitude, Maverick Squad.
Rank: Flight Officer
Sexual Preference: bisexual, though he aint about to jump into bed with anyone.
Relationship Status: single
Personality: Eldramach is an asshole. No matter who you ask, that’ll always be the first thing that comes to mind, even if you ask Eldramach himself. He is very pessimistic, aggressive, sarcastic and downright confrontational. Whilst he is intelligent himself, he lacks a lot of information about other races, history and other such things. Due to his ignorance of certain topics, he can come across as racist, or stereotypical, and while he might play to this to make a joke, he doesn’t necessarily mean anything malicious in it. As a social person, Eldramach isn’t very nice, even to those he does think fondly of. He can be manipulative in his social life, and will find anything to annoy them, either through pranks, false opinions or nicknames. The fonder he is of a person, the more he’ll look for ways to annoy them. He would not be above hacking into a computer just to make it play music as loud as possible. Sometimes his pranks will be extravagant, whilst others will be small. Either way, it’s reasonable to assume that he’s up to something.
In combat, Eldramach is lethal, both as a pilot and on foot. He’ll shoot to kill always, regardless of who he’s against. He will not risk his own safety for anything. He sees everything as him verses them. Whilst he is lethal in his aggression, he is in by no means a sadist. He does not find pleasure in pain, in fact he’s out rightly opposed to that. ‘If you’re going to kill someone, do it quick’. He’s never too fussed about killing, and will do so if ordered or paid to.
Personally, Eldramach dislikes himself. He dislikes how angry and pessimistic he is, but he doesn’t really know how to be anything else. He keeps people at arms-length because he knows he isn’t going to be around for very long. He never feels settled, and will often find ways to separate himself from whatever community he’s in. Loyalty is a relatively new concept to him, and whilst he doesn’t feel it himself, he does at least acknowledge and respect it. Romantically however, Eldramach is more than useless. He’d never admit it, but he’s never been involved in a relationship of any kind. In fact, he wouldn’t even know where to start with it. He’s pretty much assured himself that if it ever did happen it would be disastrous from the very beginning, so in his opinion, why even try? This has been further enforced by his cybernetic implants, which have caused him a great deal of social problems over the years, with many treating him below a slave. As a result, he doesn’t necessarily believe someone could find him attractive… though how much he really cares about this is uncertain. He probably doesn’t even know for certain, since it’s never really been a possibility.
History
Eldra as he was named back then was born on Kessel, between two human slaves who worked the spice mines. Since a child couldn’t really be raised in the mines, Eldra was barely six hours old when he was removed from his mother’s care. He was then immediately given to the mine’s nanny droids, which began looking after him amongst many other children born to the slaves in the mines. The children were raised until they could work, which began immediately at four. They were then assigned various tasks, though most insisted of menial labour, since none of them had the strength to do anything bigger. Eldra was one of those children, growing up picking up rocks and tossing them into big bins that would then go elsewhere. Eldra never really found out where.
Years later, now old enough to be taught, Eldra was assigned to the mining vehicle maintenance teams. It was here that Eldra learned the basics of fixing vehicles. His small hands would allow him to fix more intricate circuits, and he would be able to get into places his tutors wouldn’t be able to. Eldra quickly became decently skilled, having adapted to his situation.
It was around this time that the Imperials left Kessel, retreating back to elsewhere in the galaxy, Eldra, now nine years old, seemed to believe life would get easier for them like many of the other slaves, but unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. Not that Eldra knew it, but the mine had just changed hands and every slave had just been acquired by some Hutt, bought from the Imperials with something that didn’t matter to him. The Hutts were harsher masters that the imps, with the Imperial storm troopers being replaced with unintelligent Gammoreans and other hideous aliens. Threatening orders were replaced with whips that enforced their activity. Eldra found out the hard way to obey after disobeying an order and receiving his first scars. Ten lashes were considered lenient for a child, but Eldra still wears the scars of his childhood.
Things got worse as the Hutt civil war entered it’s peak, the Hutt in charge became desperate for profits and wore many of their slaves into the ground they were mining. A fifteen year old Eldra, now fully trained was in charge of his own mining vehicle and the maintenance of it. He had also been sent droids to aid in his work, as many of the slaves had died out due to the pressure of the work. Soon enough, he saw the next generation of children working the mines like he had all those years before. As he turned seventeen, Eldra decided to act, hoping to start off an uprising in the mines against their Hutt overlords.
When one of the Hutts was visiting the mine, Eldra decided to throw his vehicle into overdrive and ram the Hutt down. As he started moving the vehicle towards the hut however, one of the newly arrived security droids fired at the vehicle. The vehicle exploded as Eldra made an effort to jump out, throwing shrapnel in every direction. Eldra took the worst of it, with his right eye being hit. Covered in cuts, and unconscious from the pain, Eldra was captured by the Hutt’s men. Whilst it would’ve been normal for a slave to be killed, it seemed the Hutt had other plans.
Eldra awoke in a lab. His arms strapped down, and an aging scientist leaning over him. He was no longer in pain, but something didn’t feel right. Soon he became fully aware that he was only able to close one eye. The scientist was doing something with the other one, but he wasn’t entirely sure why. All the while the scientist was silent. Then suddenly whatever he was doing was finished, and as he walked away, Eldra’s right eye became functional and it was clear. His eye had been replaced with a cybernetic implant, but that wasn’t the only thing he noticed. He could hear something coming, and as he watched the scientists as he waited by the door, he could tell it was a Hutt. He could hear the Hutt talking with someone. He stared for a long while, not knowing what was going on. The doors opened and sure enough, in came the Hutt with it’s entourage. They stopped once they entered the lab, and they spoke. Eldra listened to the conversation, though only understanding part of the conversation. From what he could gather, his body had received implants allowing him to see and hear better, along with something else. Something called a neural interface device, not that Eldra had any real idea on what that was. As the conversation continued, they spoke of yet another implant, a slave tracking device. They were going to enforce his submission or blow him up as punishment. Eldra grimaced at the thought, would he ever be free? They continued to ignore him all the while they talked, and his price was continuously brought up. He was to be sold immediately.
The conversation was brought to a long close; he laid there on the table. The Hutt then slithered over to him, looked him over and laughed triumphantly into his face. The Hutt laughed all the way out of the room. Eldra could’ve sworn he was still laughing as the scientist explained to him what was going to happen. Eldra had been sold off to another Hutt to serve aboard one of their ships and that he had been ‘augmented’ to fulfil that role as well as any droid. The scientist gave a smirk as he informed Eldra that his new name was Eldramach. The mach had been added as a shortened form of machine, a permanent reminder that his actions had consequences. It was also clear that he wasn’t a slave anymore. He was lower than a slave, a droid essentially.
Soon enough, Eldramach had been transported aboard the ship and was working in the maintenance bay. He had been there only a few months when the ship was assaulted by a pirate force whilst patrolling around the edges of Hutt Space. As Eldramach fixed what he could, the battle went on on the outside and soon enough the ship was boarded. The battle droids fell when pirates flooded the corridors, and captured anybody living. It seemed that the Hutt captain had a bounty on his head, and the pirates had come to collect him. Eldramach was thrown to the feet of the pirate captain along with many of the other living crewmen, much of them slaves like him. The pirate then offered them a choice, join him as part of his crew, or die like a slave. Eldramach knew the obvious answer and agreed before all others. When the rest fell in line, the captain then introduced himself as Duvnar Lund. The pirates with the help of the slaves then scuttled the Hutt Ship, sending it crashing into a nearby asteroid and fled the system, taking with them the Hutt and any cargo they could find.
Life aboard the pirate ship was actually rather good in comparison than anything he had experienced before. He had his own cot, and a storage locker. He even had a gun. For the first time in a long time, he felt free. He was able to take what he wanted, kill who he wanted, and cause absolute chaos. That wasn’t to say it wasn’t without it’s dangers. Every day they were hunted, and within the first day, they had been caught short after meeting with their client to hand off the Hutt. The ship had come under attack from their bounty’s men, who had pursued them after the kidnapping. Though inexperienced, Eldramach was forced to man a gun when the gunner died after a nearby display exploded over him. Eldramach gained his first kill after firing into a squadron, and it wouldn’t be his last of the day. There was at least two more, but beyond that he had no real idea. Much to his surprise, he didn’t feel bad about it. He realised it felt like dealing with a threat and as such, there was no negativity. The battle however, turned against them as more fighters got through their defences and so Eldramach had no choice but to link in with the ship. When he did so, he took control over every turret aboard. The ensuing volley allowed them to fight off the squadron, but it was ultimately too taxing on Eldramach, who lost consciousness and they were forced to jump to hyperspace.
After that incident, Eldramach became a trusted member of the pirate crew. Dunvar took a liking to him, though as Eldramach would learn eventually, it was more of affection for a weapon or an object, than a person. Dunvar would make him link with the ship multiple times in the next few years, enabling them to get through a lot of issues. Each time Eldramach would lose consciousness and end up in the medical room. As the years went on, Eldramach would participate in raids, on and off the ship. He was taught to use a pistol, though many of the others claimed he would cheat in competitions due to his implants allowing him to instantly judge distance accurately. He also learned to fly a fighter too, manning a headhunter. He never once plugged into it however, through risk of falling unconscious and killing himself as a result. Nonetheless however, he found that he was actually more naturally skilled with a fighter than sat in a turret on the ship. After that point, Eldramach found himself leaving the ship more and more, dogfighting with whatever came their way. Every now and then he’d have to board a ship and kill or capture the people on board. All in all his life was good. He got in more fights than he cares to remember and his body ended up littered with scars. He used to remind himself that he never claimed to be a good fighter, but one who survives.
Through the years, Eldramach would begin to hate the lifestyle, if only for his captain. The man who had given him freedom, had eventually revealed their relationship to just another form of slavery. He would aggressively demand Eldramach to link up with the ship to use his implants. When he refused, he would issue Eldramach a beating, and force him to do it. One such event happened when the ship came under fire from a New Republic patrol when Eldramach was twenty-five. Instead of sending him out in a fighter, Dunvar ordered him to stay behind as a precautionary measure. Sure enough, when the battle turned in the New Republic’s favour, Dunvar ordered Eldramach to link with the ship and get them out of there immediately. When he refused, the captain went to beat him into submission, but Eldramach pulled a gun and shot his captain dead. Immediately chaos ensued, several of the pirates jumped towards the captain’s chair and all pulled out their guns. Eldramach wasn’t entirely sure what happened next, but suddenly everyone started firing at each other. Eldramach knew the only thing he could do was to escape. Fighting his way to a pod, he got in and jettisoned himself out, hoping to land on the planet and escape. He didn’t even make a stop at his locker, and just got out. As his pod was ejected and flew into space, his former home exploded before his eyes. It has seemed the Republic had decided to end the fighting, and an end it did bring.
Eldramach thought he had got away, but when his pod was hit with a tractor beam, he had no choice but to await capture. Not knowing what the Republic would do with him, he stood by the door with his hands against the roof of the pod. He remembered being furious at the galaxy for landing him in another terrible situation, not allowing him even an hour of absolute freedom. Ultimately, Eldramach was captured by the Republic, and held in the brig, along with any other survivors of the pirate vessel, not that there were many.
Once his trial was done, Eldramach was swiftly moved to a Republic jail, where he would serve his time in relative comfort for an extensive amount of days. His crimes were numerous, and he was sure he’d never get out…
It was then a light came, at the end of the hall way. Eldramach had been lying on the bed at the time, but his hearing picked up the unusual sounds of approaching footsteps. Were they there for him?
It turned out they were. Only several months into his stay at the Republic’s pleasure, he was to be transferred. It seemed they had recovered the flight recorder from his ship and had found out the details of his tenure under the pirates. Having decided he was worth a chance, he was given the chance to work off his debt to society by becoming a reserve pilot for a squadron named Maverick. They made a decision to reactivate his slave tracking device, with some minor modifications to allow him some mobility, but just enough rope to keep him from running. They then sent him to Hakawa, where his training began to shape him into better material for the Republic to work with. So far it’s been an uphill battle for everyone in charge… and that’s not going to change any time soon.
