Something of a hermit, Thiago is a survivalist living on the outskirts of civilisation. He loves the sea, even with “her” monsters. Thiago thinks of the sea as a woman, and will refer to it in feminine terms, unless he is angry with it. He is a cunning guy, keeping his secrets close at hand, making sure he’s useful to society, but not too useful that he’s dragged into fights that he has no business in. That’s to say he’s not a coward and if a fight shows up at his door, he’ll fight to the death, usually that means a bunch of people get harpoons in various places on their body. Thiago is not one to shirk from gruesome scenes, and will gladly use so called “assholes” as bait for his latest catch.

Thiago was born on a beach somewhere along the Atlantic coast, no one’s sure where specifically. He was born into a group of migrant fishermen, who roam the coast looking for fish and other creatures to hunt for food. They trawl the coasts up and down, whilst teaching their skills to their young. In reality they’re no different to prospectors, only their treasure is food. Thiago was taught the ways of the fishermen from a young age, knowing where all the best meat on anything he comes across. He grew to specialise in mirelurk hunting, and knows the best way to bait them. He keeps his baiting techniques a secret, so that he can remain ahead of the game. Over time he learned how to make traps and modify structures already present to make even larger traps for bigger creatures.
At some point Thiago and the migrant fishermen stumbled down into the region known as Broken Banks. Whilst there, they worked to supply the Wolves, although like with any good migrants, the group soon turned around and moved on. Thiago, however, decided to stay and make a life for himself. With permission of one of the Wolves of Southern Shores, Thiago moved into one of the nearby shipwrecks, which was named ‘Pilar’. The large leisure boat that Thiago moved into was flooded with a few holes in the bottom of it, it took him months to patch up the holes and then remove the water from the bow of the ship. It still wasn’t seaworthy, but it was a home on the beach. Over the months he had sold many a piece of mirelurk and other such creatures, and so he had enough caps to properly set himself up. He bought himself a harpoon gun, a bed, and eventually a workbench… Although the salesman was crafty and made him pay twice as much for moving the actual workbench to the boat. He bought many scraps of metal, and tools to actually take some off the nearby wrecks that no one else wanted. With the tools and the materials, he crafted many traps. Soon enough Thiago’s “territory” if you could call it that was laden with traps big enough to trap a mirelurk or two. With his baiting techniques, Thiago is successful in his business trading in mirelurk meat and eggs. He doesn’t usually go very far from his home, what with living alone and limits his travel as much as he can. In recent times, Thiago has gained the company of a female Carrion Gul, whom he found injured one day. Although the bird had bit him, and taken several chunks out of, the fisherman took pity on it and nursed it back to health. Unfortunately, the bird instantaneously flew off, and didn’t come back for a month, however soon it did. Since then the bird has been a friend and a companion to Thiago, who is otherwise alone. Thiago hasn’t named the bird, and only calls it with a whistle. The two have a mutually beneficial relationship. The gull will often fly around occupied traps, which will highlight where Thiago should go. Thiago feeds the gull as a reward, and it makes his job go just that bit quicker. The gull will also sometimes show him where schools of fish are, or even where mirelurk nesting sites are, due to its taste for mirelurk eggs
The Pilar:
About 30ft in length, it is a large, but rusted, former pleasure craft. In it sits a large cabin, with a metal frame bed and an old mattress to one side, with a trunk and various personal belongings of Thiago. There’s also a workbench and a few lockers, and a single ammo box in another corner. A small kitchen area with a table and a couple of chairs also sits in the cabin. There’s a disused bathroom area down below, but it no longer works as it should, what with the ship being beached. There are various plugged holes that have been welded into place across the floor, stopping any water from flowing in. The portholes are also covered from the inside, allowing them to be opened from inside but not from the outside, to provide Thiago some little privacy and security. Underneath the roof of the helm, sits the nest of Thiago’s pet gull.[/center]
