Skills:
Craftsmanship - Years in slavery provided Katja an opportunity to develop skills which allowed her to make better use of makeshift tools given to her. Capable of maintaining items easier, repairing fairly complicated systems, and a strong understanding of electronics.

Subterfuge - Years in slavery have allowed many to develop skills in regard to stealth, with Katja being one of those people. She is better accustomed to moving silently, and a slightly better understanding of how locking mechanisms work. 

Hand-to-Hand - In a hostile environment, many of required to develop a way to defend themselves. As a slave, Katja was unable to learn the skills that involved anything more than her fists, a club, or possibly a make-shift knife.

Primary weapon: A damaged .308 bolt-action hunting rifle. The wood is partially warped, the bolt sticks at times, and the sights are rusted, but the primary mechanics work when they need to be used.

Still maintains an innocence in her nature, despite seeing the horrors that the wasteland has to offer. Typically untrusting of many, and borders on the edge of paranoia. Nice and loyal, when someone's well-natured purpose is shown. 





Katja Romanova was born to runaway slaves in 2262 in the former Northwest Commonwealth of America, just a few miles away from the remnants of Seattle. Much of her youth, Katja was raised while constantly traveling, avoiding large populated areas. Her parents, had escaped slavery less than a year before her birth, and knew that it was dangerous for their daughter to fall into Slaver hands. Their nomadic lifestyle took on the nature of following caravans, providing whatever services they could to the travelers and locals of the places they visited.

At age 9, this lifestyle ceased, as the caravan the Romanovs were traveling with was raided by an aggressive, local tribe, and the survivors were sold off. Her and her Father found themselves back in the hands of slavers, where they were committed to hard labor as salvagers in Seattle. Three years passed, and her father had died in an accident, when part of a structure fell that was being salvaged. At this time, Katja was switched from her lighter duties and moved into a position similar to her father's. 

Another six years passed before an opportunity arose for Katja to escape. A vigilante group from Northern California had trekked up to Seattle and liberated the slaves, although at a great cost to all sides. Katja was a survivor, and remained with the group, which provided her clothes, water, and a weapon for her to make her own living with. Many of those who fought to save them were diehard members of the NCR, and a few even former members of it's Rangers. This gave Katja her first insight of where to go, the New California Republic to the south, where she was quickly granted citizenship.
