After finishing the game "Papers, Please," I got to thinking that it would be interesting to get into an RP set in the same universe, what with the variety of oppressive and/or corrupt nations reeling after a war and Arstotzka on the brink of revolution. I'm debating on what the exact time period would be and how it would work--something to be talked through with the people who join. The way I see it, there are three options. One, we look the situation that would have led up to everything, probably the war between Kolechia and Arstotzka. I'm not particularly keen on this one, but it could be interesting. Two, we RP during the 31 days of the game with all of the wild events and unrest beginning to rock the nation. This one could be interesting, as it provides flexibility with us playing as members of EZIC, as Arstotzkan loyalists, as terrorists/dissidents within Arstotzka (probably with ties to Kolechia), or as normal Joe's just trying to survive all the madness. And then, we could play what happens afterwards. The third would be post-game dealings, perhaps where EZIC has torn down the wall, and now Arstotzka is thrown into civil war, though the crack-downs brought from EZIC falling at the end of The Inspector's tenure would be interesting too, especially for EZIC survivors. The only real issue about this is that we'd have to decide what the Inspector's actions were, what his name is, and where he went. The three most likely situations would be 1) he helped EZIC knock down the wall and joined them as an agent (thus civil war has begun), 2) he refuses to help EZIC and protects the wall (leading to crack-downs) and continues working the border, or 3) Helps EZIC then runs for the Obristan border (Same as 1, just no risk of dealing with him or worrying about coming up with a name for him).
Obviously this would take some planning and some discussion, such as what the various nations are like and such, but I would prefer to probe into if anyone would be interested before getting too deep into it.

Holy crow, I literally JUST played that game, myself. Small world!
I'm definitely interested in getting involved. Personally, I think a good path for an RP to follow is after the Inspector passes his audit, and is cleared of suspicion. He comes back to work on January 1st, like in Endless Mode, only now the Grestin Checkpoint has been expanded, and there are now two Inspectors. This allows interaction between the Inspection and the New Guy, allows the EZIC a new route to try and attack the Arstozkan government, and can make an interesting story as too whether the old Inspector gets corrupted by the new Inspector, or if there becomes a conflict between them.
Just a thought. But I'd definitely be interested in helping.
Glory to Arstotzka.

Hah! It seems that the game is finally getting around.
And I like that idea a lot, my only concern is about how we would go about it if we get more people on board. But then again, I suppose there's always need for guards. And I like the idea of these two becoming rivals and/or friends while all this is going on. So yeah, let's wait for a little bit (a day or two perhaps) to see if anyone else wants in and, if so, what their thoughts on the matter are.

I love Papers, Please. I'd be interested, if you had a spot for me.

I'm a fan of the game, though I'm unsure if it would make good RP material.

So is there still an interest to do this? Cause I've been giving some plot to a story line. Basically what I said earlier, but without the original Inspector, who was now arrested. I kinda thought it'd be best if we didn't use the original Inspector, only because he is a Canon character, and it'd just be better to go on without him. We can either have it so he was arrested or that he ran away from Arstotzka. So, the RP would follow at least three characters: A new IInspector - A corrupt Inspector - and a person from the EZIC. The New Inspector has more options and can either become corrupt or stay a loyal worker of Arstotzka. The Corrupt Inspector is, obviously, already corrupt, accepting bribes and favors to gain entry. They were also selected by the Labor Lottery, but they have connections in government and can avoid citations.
Neither Inpsector would immediately be an EZIC operative, but the person playing as the EZIC would quickly dispatch members of their cause to contact the Inspectors and attempt to secure their loyalty. The ideal storyline, in my opinion, is the New Inspector remains loyal to Arstotzka, while the Corrupt Inspector starts to help Arstotzka because they offer them bribes and escape routes should things go wrong. The story follows the rift between the Inspectors and eventually goes into a conflict as new terrorist activities and EZIC attacks go.
Personally, I'd like to play the role as the New Inspector, but we can discuss that.
Is anyone still interested in this?
