Birthplace: Shady Sands
Height: 5'4
Weight: 120lbs
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color: Black

Distinguishing Features: Her sharp eyes combined with a resting expression of annoyance makes her look angry to people who don't know her well.
Profession: Follower of the Apocalypse
Skills: Craftmanship, subterfuge, hand-to-hand
Training: Riley spent a lot of time learning how to maintain caravan equipment from her parents. In her spare time she would take things apart and put them back together to find out how they worked, this included locks. For hacking, she read what ever books she could find on the matter, then would practice on a beat up computer she found. Some of the caravaneers in her family's small fleet got together to teach her and a couple other kids how to make a punch count.
Other Abilities: Can handle a pistol competently, can sing although she doesn't do it often.
Apparel: Riley prefers not to wear the standard Followers medical coat, choosing a patched up brown jacket instead. Of course the symbol is still there, sewed onto the sleeve of the jacket. A grey t-shirt hides under it and a pair of blue jeans tucked into dark brown boots complete the look of someone who should be wandering the wastes. Leather, fingerless gloves provide her some protection while still letting her make fine adjustments. Sometimes a tool belt sits around her hips when she's working on something.
Weaponry: 9mm pistol, combat knife, on occasion whatever tool is in her hand
Other Equipment: 2 bottles of dirty water, some food (changes depending on what she can find. She tries to stay away from potentially irradiated foods), various tools, bobby pins, 2 stimpacks, lighter
Affiliation: Followers of the Apocalypse, Shady Sands
Religious Belief: Atheist
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: Riley is a curious young woman, always willing to learn and find out how things work. She believes everyone should be given a fair chance if they deserve it, whether they're human, ghoul, or super-mutant. That being said she has been known to move around rules to provide a stimpack or some caps to someone she thinks deserves it. Her charity only goes so far however. While she's willing to give people a helping hand, she has no tolerance for those who abuse it and on occasion this can bring out her hotheadedness. She does fairly well keeping it under control but she's not afraid to throw punches to protect herself or people she cares about
Riley is the daughter of two small time caravan fleet owners, Olivia and Nathan Anderson. What started as a business venture between friends eventually developed into a partnership in business and life. Being from Shady Sands most of their exports were food and water, and as the need arised in smaller communities, so did Anderson Caravans. Riley was born February 18th, 2264, the company's 3rd successful year. She is the couple's only child as her parents had trouble conceiving another before and after her birth.
Her first 5 years were spent on the road primarily until her parents decided to stay back and run things from home. However, she still got to travel the wastes when one of them went to check on supplies and deliveries. Riley became well known by the people working in the fleet and they started to pass on their knowledge, anything from life advice to how to fix or replace a wheel. Her curiosity made her soak in every bit of information, every lesson given to her.
By 15, she was going out with some of her parents' more trusted caravaneers to get an idea of how the business she'd inherit worked. She was given her first pistol, a 10mm, although she was only allowed to shoot bottles and any small animals or bugs that attacked the caravan. Anything larger and she was told to hide in the cart, much to her annoyance. Two years later, this annoyance got the best of her and she stood up to take a shot at a raider who had disarmed one of the people with her. It missed, hitting the ground beside him, but worked as a distraction long enough for one of the others to knock him out. Worried and furious that their daughter had put herself in the way of danger, they cut her off from traveling and took her pistol, deciding to teach her what they knew from the safety of the offices.
The first few months were agony, she longed to travel again. Learning from books was great but practically was even better. The plus side was she got to tinker with an old computer that was being thrown out, learning how to break past the firewalls that got in her way. It was around this time, just after her 18th birthday, that she met Cecil Faulkner, the son of a stock manager who enjoyed making wagers on games of caravan. When they weren't being taught their parents' professions, they'd break into abandoned buildings for fun and to get supplies for Riley to tinker with (sometimes this lead to fights with squatters), sneak out into the wastes to watch the stars, and take pot shots at radroaches. Anything to break up the monotony of office work. Their parents would've said something if they weren't watching the beginning of their business' decline.
In 2284, Anderson Caravans was sold to the Crimson Caravan Company as they were buying up routes and companies, slowly gaining a monopoly. Without a company to inherit and work in, Riley left Shady Sands with Cecil, now her boyfriend of close to a year and a half. Their destination was New Vegas, a shining beacon of independence and opportunity. Riley picked up odd repairing jobs while Cecil's gambling habits grew with his good luck streak. By the time they got to Vegas they had enough to get past the cap check.
Riley spent the first few days on the strip but grew board quickly and left Cecil to his own devices during the day. It was during her time around Freeside that she ended up at the Old Mormon Fort. With nothing better to do, she offered her services and started helping any way she could, mostly fixing things and picking up/delivering supplies. During this time she learned more about the Followers and their goals to prevent another great war through knowledge. It seemed like a good road to go down, especially since staying with Cecil didn't look promising.
His winning streak had disappeared after their first week there. Over the course of the month, he'd started asking Riley for money to keep up his check. When he lost the money they were using to pay for their hotel room, she made up her mind. She became a single woman, joined the Followers, and used what few caps she now had to get traveling supplies, hoping to get out of Vegas.
