So GuardsGhost and I were thinking about actually starting a Star Wars RP. So this is definitely a "hey guys, let's do Star Wars" kind of thread. We're not worried about canon here outside of what is already established and relevant to the time frame; if you end up destroying the galaxy, whatever. It's a freeform thread.
But we would like some input on timeframe and plot. We have a couple of options as far as that goes.
First off, the Star Wars: The Old Republic kind of era. The Republic is at war with a resurgent Sith Empire, and we'd probably end up confining characters to a single planet or space station or something just for simplicity's sake. Lot of options here, most of them war-related.
The Clone Wars are also an option, but this would be harder to do. You've got a bunch of identical-except-for-name-and-personality clones, a bunch of identical-except-for-number-and-maybe-model droids, some Jedi, and a couple of Dark Jedi and Sith types, plus some regular dudes I forgot about too. Could be fun, but it's something that I'd see as a bit of a weaker storyline as far as freeform RP goes.
Next up, we could do something during the Galactic Civil War - the original trilogy era. You've got the Empire, you've got the Rebellion, you don't have many notable Force-users on either side - and the ones that are still alive, are generally in higher-up command roles like Palpatine and Vader. This would also probably be rather war-related, but opens the door for less Jedi-y characters to take a front seat.
And lastly, we have the post-series era. We could set this like 500 years in the future, far enough that we don't have to worry about anything and can really go whatever direction we want. Maybe the Sith have taken over the galaxy. Maybe the Yuuzhan Vong have grown stronger and taken over the galaxy again. I dunno. It's kind of up to you guys.
So, anyone interested in anything in particular?
