Service Record
The YT-2660, like some other Corellian Engineering Corps designs, was one that would never see mass production. Only about a dozen prototypes would be constructed during it's development period, and while initial tests were promising, the project was eventually abandoned in favor of what was believed to be a superior design. It was en-route to a deconstruction facility that one of the operational YT-2660's would come into Cadence's possession. She was 19 years old at the time and working with some rather unsavory individuals, an organized criminal outfit specialized in stealing starships. An inside source in the CEC had tipped the leader of the group off about the prototypes, and after getting a hold of the transport schedule, a plan had been set in motion to nab them in transit. After the transport ship had reached the midway point in the relatively short trip to the nearest CEC deconstruction/recycling facility, the gang would set upon them. The half a dozen ships made short work of the transports two escort fighters, and within minutes of beginning the attack, they'd boarded the vessel and secured it.
Little did the gang know however, that by this time Cadence had become rather fed up with their outfit, unfortunately this was the sort of gang you only tended to leave in a box, so the Epicanthix couldn't simply walk away. This job had presented a perfect opportunity however, as it was her job to pilot one of the craft back to their hideout. Instead, after boosting one of the prototypes and getting it off the transport, Cadence would desert the gang and not return to Corellia any time soon, even after swapping out the ship's transponder with a new one. In the five years she's had the ship since, it has performed extremely well for her, retaining the easy-to-modify traits and quality design commonly associated with CEC freighters. Cadence has poured a healthy sum of credits into the vessel to sure it stays in fine running condition, and subsequently it has made her quite a few in return.
