Personality:
Ruul tends to be suspicious of most people. He is also fairly soft-spoken and quiet, but will sometimes boast to a target once he has caught them. Due to the strange speech patterns of his species, Ruul is often unsure of who is being addressed when pronouns are used. He is usually quietly confident--if a bit skeptical sometimes--but, on occasion, can get slightly cocky. He has never really been good at making friends and may confuse a friendship for a business venture or partnership. His statements and advice tend to be honest, straightforward and blunt, though sometimes he may throw in a hint of unexpected sarcasm (usually at the most inappropriate of times).










Ruul Othisku was born on Nar Shaddaa in 3 BBY. In 9 ABY, Ruul was forced to join the "Personal Army" of Brethro the Hutt. In one of many Nar Shaddaa turf wars, Brethro set his child army upon the enemy. Many--Ruul included--were not even supplied with a weapon. He scrambled around the street turned battlefield, desperate to live. He picked up the pistol from a fallen ally and hunkered down, defending himself from approaching enemies. He remained in Brethro's army until 12 ABY, when he escaped on a cargo freighter to Nal Hutta. Desperate for credits, Ruul heard of a bounty on a Nikto by the name of Vash Reed. He hunted Vash down and collected the bounty, using his money to buy two Aikion R-30017 blaster pistols and an indirect shuttle ticket to Coruscant. 

On the way to Coruscant, he met some shadier people and helped them transport spice along his route. Once there, he was hired by a minor New Republic representative as security for a while. In 21 ABY, Ruul was offered a job to transport some spice from Coruscant to Nar Shaddaa. In his time on Coruscant, he had bought a Z-95 Headhunter from a Rodian junker. He made his way to Nar Shaddaa and delivered the spice; he then began taking bounties on the many gang members and criminals. He also took a few jobs delivering contraband here and there. After a while, he purchased an A280 longblaster for shots at longer range. In 23 ABY, Ruul was pursuing a target through the streets of Nar Shaddaa. As he followed his chase into an alley, a proximity mine of some sort detonated, damaging Othisku's face and right arm. Normally, a Gand is able to regenerate lost limbs, but the extreme damage inflicted upon his arm as well as the surgery to remove shrapnel seemed to have nullified these regenerative abilities. Ruul's right forearm was replaced with a cybernetic limb and his breathing apparatus was extended to conceal and contain the damage done to the right side of his face and eye.

Since early 24 ABY, Ruul has been after a bounty on a Clawdite by the name of Ereys Thraiten. Due to Clawdites' shapeshifting abilities, Thraiten has proven to be Ruul's most challenging job so far. The trail has led Othisku from Nar Shaddaa to the Kessel mining colonies. From there he pursued the target to planets such as Tattooine, Coruscant and Hoth. It would seem Ereys considers this a game. Almost every clue Ruul picks up sounds as if it were deliberate. Things such as the Clawdite using his name in public--even in front of a crowd--and flaunting his shapechanging abilities. Ruul finds this incredibly unsettling; he has, thus far, been unable to find any clues that weren't meant to be found. This has caused him to question his abilities and talent involving the hunt. He now hates Thraiten with a passion and wants nothing more than to riddle him with holes.
