Personality: Fendryn isn't one to make his presence known, but it always is. He's somewhat self centred, and if he feels compelled to assist someone else there is often something he wants from them. But he has helped people gratis before. He likes to keep to himself, get his business over and concluded, and go back to his studies.
Born in Blacklight a few years after the conclusion of the Great War, Fendryn was the first of his line to have shown magical talent, or magical talent enough to harness and train. His father was a Redoran Guard, and his mother ran a tavern, quite a busy one at that. Fendryn, who had shown his talent at a young age, was tutored by a family friend. A mage that Fendryn's father had helped decades ago. Ralomir, half Nord, half Dunmer, took charge in training the young Fendryn.
When Fendryn was six, he had acquired both a brother and a sister, Tarvyn and Vivyne. Both displayed magical talent, too, and so they trained alongside Fendryn. Fendryn was always a bit ahead of his siblings, both in natural, and trained ability. After a few years, it was clear who had the most power. Fendryn quite a bit ahead, Tarvyn in the middle, always lusting to get stronger, and Vivyne, who was quite content to progress at a slower pace, mastering everything slower and cautiously.
After an argument between Fendryn and his father, Fendryn left home for the Synod. He decided that the next logical thing to do in his life was to go to a proper institution, and that was how he ended up at the doorstep of the Blacklight Synod chapter. He spent six months at Blacklight, furthering his study of magic. That was until he became a full-fledged Synod member, and left Morrowind for Cyrodiil. The Arcane University was the capital of the Synod, and that was where he would perfect his magic. This would also be the location upon where he would find his knack for Alchemy. He'd often take walks late at night, after supper, collecting various plants and ingredients from around the City.
When Fendryn was in his mid twenties, he had received a letter from his father, the only communication since he had left home. Tarvyn had been acting strangely, and then both him and Vivyne had disappeared. They needed Fendryn's help. After sleeping on it, he had walked down to the docks, and booked a ship back to Blacklight. He started searching immediately. After days of searching, he came up with nothing. Until the thought came to him. He had learned a spell he assumed was useless, Clairvoyance. He focused in on his brother, and cast the spell. Images of a wrecked Imperial fort some distance from Blacklight flooded his mind. Fendryn took a horse, and galloped away.
Fendryn arrived just on dusk, he tied his horse up to a pole nearby, and headed into the fort. After an eerily silent walk, he arrived at the main chamber, and what he saw disgusted him. His brother had sacrificed Vivyne for power. Tarvyn heard Fendryn, and looked at him, just in time for a fireball to slam him in the chest. The impact slammed Tarvyn across the room, and he was heavily burned. He attempted to heal himself and get back up, and Fendryn was on him. Fendryn wrapped his left hand around Tarvyn's neck in a frenzied rage, and his right was pressed against Tarvyn's chest. Although not visible, Fendryn was casting a spell, a low level shock spell. Tarvyn's body began to seize, but Fen did not let go. After what seemed like an eternity, Tarvyn's eyes had a blank expression, and Fendryn stopped casting the spell, and let go of his neck. Tarvyn's body was limp.
Fendryn set Tarvyn's corpse ablaze, but wrapped his sister's up, and carried her back outside, to his horse. He rode back to Blacklight, and his father awaited his children's return. He broke down, and fell to his knees. A few days later, at Vivyne's funeral, Fendryn watched from the back. Fendryn's father, in grief, started accusing Fendryn of failing to bring them both home. Fendryn walked out, and none heard from him again.
Fendryn left Blacklight, left Morrowind. He didn't return to the Arcane University, instead he traveled. He wandered from Morrowind, through Skyrim, to High Rock, down through Hammerfell. Along the way, he had spent time at the College of Winterhold, assisted court wizards, and worked various jobs, ranging from mining, to bounty hunting, to farming.
