Goals: The main goal (and the reason why The Curators were created as a group) of this group is to claim lost knowledge and restore it under a massive database and library called "The Archive." Pre-war books, history of the world before and after the war, designs for weapons, technology and vehicles, logs of journals, holotape recordings and games, a bestiary of creatures and threats all over America.
One very notable objective of The Curators is to not produce anything on a mass-scale, only for "experiments." This makes factions such as The Institute different from The Curators. This is not a group of scientists, but a group of like-minded people with a goal to preserve and protect knowledge itself. For example, if given a deceased synth, The Curators would use the body to find out how it works (if they can) and put detailed information about the synth structure into The Archive. They would not recreate a synth. This system applies for weapons and vehicles also.
It is the long-term goal of The Curators to educate. But before The Curators can educate anyone, they must first become teachers by collecting the information in The Archive, which they will protect.
All in all, the main goal of The Curators is to collect knowledge, bring it to The Archive to be added to the stockpile of information and then, in the near future, share the knowledge with the uneducated Capital Wasteland and, maybe in the long-term, beyond.

Beliefs: To get to the ultimate goal of The Curators, they work in secret to protect The Archive. While not violent in nature by any means, The Curators will protect The Archive (their lives works) if it means life or death.
Ultimately, the main belief of this is to collect all types of knowledge in the most discreet way possible. If approved by the Head Archiver, the Curators can actually open up to certain people / groups, but to most, The Curators doesn't exist (yet).

Allegiances and Enemies: Because of The Curators discreet way of working, the relations with other factions haven't actually taken any progress, let alone started. However, this doesn't stop Curators from having an opinion:
Galaxy News Radio, Three Dog - Allies. When Three Dog helped The Curators with the long-range transmitters (see history, 2288), The Curators agreed to help the "good fight" by giving knowledge to the Wasteland. They also got Three Dog's absolute agreement to not tell anyone about them until the time was right. This time... is soon.
Three Dog is the only real ally and known friend of The Curators outside The Curators themselves.
Raiders - Hate. The backside of the new world. They will destroy everything given the chance, disorganized and a mess. There's nothing to like about Raiders.
Outsiders / Scavengers / Settlements - Like. The Curators was founded by oddjobs from Megaton, Bethesda and Little Lamplight. Why wouldn't The Curators like these sorts of people? These are the people The Curators hope to aid one day by educating.
Brotherhood of Steel (east coast) - Wary. It's difficult to predict the Brotherhood, mostly for their gun-ho attitude and codex. When The Curators become ready to teach the world, The Curators hope to have good relations with the BoS and aid them by giving schematics and technology information in exchange for Brotherhood History and data.
The Outcasts - Wary. Understandable that the Brotherhood would have civil debate, especially if one prefers "old ways" to "new ways." The Curators will stand out of Outcasts way.
The Institute - Wary. No one knows anything about The Institute in The Commonwealth. That gives Curators reason to stay extremely wary of them and careful not to judge them for what others say. Gary Gotham gave quite the insight into The Institute life and location, but only one account is simply not enough for The Curators.
The Railroad - Like. They sound very noble in their goal. Gary Gotham gave them a glowing reference and their presence in The Commonwealth and Capital Wasteland, though secret, is known to The Curators who will allow them to do as they wish.
The Enclave - Dislike. While depicted as 'evil', it is hard to see this from The Enclave's side of view. And until that view is found, The Curators cannot decide if they can like The Enclave. However, the issue with The Enclave is how they destroyed quite a lot of The Capital Wasteland's culture with their war against... well, everybody during Project Purity.
Super Mutants - Hate. The creation of evil, created to simply be a plague upon all lands as a destructive force that never stops. There is nothing to like about the Super Mutants. Unless the Mutant is sentient enough to stop and speak out terms, they are to be avoided or exterminated.
Vault Dwellers (in general) - Like. If a Curator meets a Vault-Dweller, the information on Vault-Tec is invaluable, as well as the tale of the Vault-Dweller themselves.
The Pitt Slavers - Hate. Slavers are just as bad as raiders, only slightly more organized.
Talon Company - Dislike. The Merc group has no morals. People with no morals or restrictions will expose The Archive.
Diamond City - Like. A giant city inside a baseball stadium... they allow outsiders in. It's extremely rare to find within places like The Commonwealth to find kindness, even if there is a hidden evil inside of it, it's still hidden. Much like The Curators secret goal.
Regulators - Like. A group devoted to law and order. The Curators can respect that and aid with collected knowledge in time, hopefully.
Littlehorn & Associates - Dislike. Assassin's who murder for caps. A horrible trade. The Curators hope they do not come after any member of The Curators and discover The Archive for whatever reason.
Reilly's Rangers - Wary. While they do have morals, they are still Merc's.
Treeminders - Like. A strange, yet peaceful tribe living out, protecting... trees. If they allow The Curators in one day, the Archive will certainly appreciate their data.
The Outcasts - Wary. Understandable that the Brotherhood would have civil debate, especially if one prefers "old ways" to "new ways." The Curators will stand out of Outcasts way.

Headquarters: The Archive.
"The Archive" is actually the name for an underground library and large database under the Georgetown Public Library in the Capital Wasteland.
(The Georgetown Public Library building, modern day)
(Inside the building itself. Imagine this is now a wreck. Under the building is The Archive)
(Imagine some terminals and more faded wood. This would be The Archive)
The Archive's primary function is to house all collected knowledge in all fields of information by The Curators. The Head Archiver is a person who devotes themselves to The Archive, knowing the layout inside out and being able to look after all the data and books, keeping them from becoming glitchy or decaying.

Locations: There aren't actually any locations The Curators use as a group apart from The Archive. Each Curator is entitled to their own private locations, of course, but they mostly spread themselves out over the Wasteland(s).
Armaments: No set weaponry. Each Curator, however, is given a quill as a token of being a member. A Raven's feather, sharpened into a quill, of course. There's nothing special about the quill, other than it being sentimental.
Armor and Uniform: There is no set uniform.
Vehicles: Theoretically, they could have vehicles if they built them with the schematics, but the chances of such a thing happening is extremely slim. So no, they have no vehicles.
Technology: Aside from the typical holotapes (logs, songs and games) and terminals in The Archive to keep documents of all natures on, The Curators use long range transmitters to communicate with one another. These items, while extremely scarce, are almost The Curator's only real key of communication other than going to meet in person.
Note: Long range transmitters only limit across a single wasteland. No like the Deep Range Transmitter.

Other: The Curators collect many things for The Archive:
-Pre-war books.
-Historical items, pre-war and modern.
-Schematics for buildings, weapons, vehicles, tools, components, technology...anything, really.
-Holotapes of all kinds (logs, recipes, games and songs).
-Information of any kind.
Tales spoken to a Curator is often recorded, either by mouth or written, onto a holotape and later added to The Archive.

Numbers: At least 50 members, some more devoted than others, scattered across the Wasteland and a tiny amount in the Commonwealth, bringing in information from time to time. These people are absolutely devoted to the secret location of all knowledge, The Archive, and believe in the goal.
Imagine how many members there would be if The Curators went public?
Ranks: Ranks? Among scholars? There are no ranks among The Curators, only the joined agreement that The Librarian is the Head Archiver of The Archive. That is the only position- aside from, of course, the five founders.

Symbols:
The Curators use symbols (much like The Railroad in the Commonwealth) to mark different locations.
Symbols and meanings are as follow:
Mark of Interest.
This generally means that the location is of interest. That doesn't mean it has more scrap than anywhere else, it often means The Archive has quite a bit of information on that location and it has significance of some sort.
Danger.
This means the immediate area beyond or around this symbol is a threat.
Curator.
This is often marked on the doorways of Curator member homes. It means any other Curator member is welcome in that area. When questioned by a non-Curator on the mark, the member is often encouraged to make a white-lie to say something like "it is symbolic."
Archive.
There is currently only one of these made as a symbol, and it is marked on the entrance to The Archive.
History:
-In the year 2285, The Curators were formed.
2280:
Lucy was a girl from Little Lamplight who had an obsession with understanding how the cave worked. She didn't quite grasp the idea of living in a cave and always dreamed of growing up and going beyond, into an unknown world. When she finally came of age, after conquering knowledge of many kinds inside Little Lamplight itself and being called "nerd" and "little scholar" a lot by the other children, she left for Big Town. But she never made it. Instead, Lucy began to explore the Capital Wasteland in all it's glory.
Around the same time as this, Corvus Blackwater from Megaton and Jessica Rose from Bethesda met by accident. Corvus was a trader who had an obsession with collecting rare and antique "scrap", being known as Megaton's eccentric for collecting items that even a thief would leave alone due to not understanding what the pieces of paper, little figures or flags meant or represented. Jessica Rose, on the other hand, was quite the same- known as Bethesda's eccentric for collecting pre-war books and holotapes she could get. They met by accident in the nearby Super Duper Mart, both having a hint on an intact magazine that both wanted to get and happened to get to it at the exact same time. From that moment on- they became extremely good friends and often traveled together, trading and collecting new artifacts everyone else found useless.
Mr. O'malley and Mrs. O'malley are ghouls. They had seen what the world was like before the war and compared it to what it is now, staying alive through staying low inside The Georgetown Public Library, skillfully setting up traps over the decades.
2285:
Lucy stumbled upon Corvus and Jessica Rose inside the ruins of the Arlington Library. After it was completely locked down by the Brotherhood of Steel, there wasn't much to get from the library other than the sneaking lessons taught by getting around the Brotherhood themselves who now resided there. The trio managed not to get caught after a long moment of confusion of bumping into eachother in the darkness. When they got out, empty-handed, they discussed and realized the three were there for the same reason and decided to travel together into the big city, hoping to find something with eachother, to have better chances.
When the trio came across the Georgetown Public Library, they thought they had struck gold... that was until Lucy fell into one of the O'malley traps and began bleeding out by getting shot in the knee. The O'malley's, realizing they were not Super Mutants, Raiders, Talon Company or any big men in power armour (BoS), deactivated most of the automated traps to help the wounded bystander.
This is when the trio were introduced to the underground library in which Mr. O'malley and Mrs. O'malley resided in. It was well preserved, but worn with age.
After two days of meeting one another, the five decided to make The Curators, realizing they had similar interests in helping the fallen world.
2288:
After the incident of Lucy being permanently damaged in the knee and unable to travel large distances, she was named "The Librarian" of The Archive, the underground library of The Curators. By this point, the other members were collecting knowledge for The Archive with the end goal of having enough knowledge to share to the world.
Corvus, Jessica and the O'malley couple were the founders of The Curators and gained memberships in secret by friendships with outsiders who also believed in the goal of collecting knowledge.
2288 was an eventful year for The Curators growth. Gary Gotham came into contact with The Curators in this year. Many people in The Capital Wasteland also joined The Curators in this year through word of mouth. Gary was special in the sense that he was from The Commonwealth and came to the Capital Wasteland after the events there. He bought with him information about that wasteland which proved invaluable to The Curators, which encouraged an expedition to The Commonwealth itself. Gary refused to be on this expedition, stating "he escaped for a reason."
He remained in The Capital Wasteland, collecting information personally for himself and The Curators, despite not being a member.
The expedition, led by Mr. and Mrs. O'malley, consisted of 12 people. They arrived in The Commonwealth in the same year, but only with 7 people.
Luckily, The Curators in this year also came across the long-range transmitters through a pact with the famous Three Dog on the Galaxy News Radio. Jessica Rose and Corvus Blackwater had a very large discussion with the radioman about their plans and how they were ultimately inspired by his speeches. Three Dog, convinced The Curators are going to aid in the future in "the good fight", gave The Curators a couple of long-range transmitters that the Brotherhood of Steel gave him access to "back in the day."
The Curators use these transmitters on a regular basis. Three Dog is also The Curators only ally outside The Curators themselves, since they have not yet established themselves among The Capital Wasteland.
2289:
The expedition to The Commonwealth was rather tragic and did not end very well. Upon the death of Mrs. O'malley, one of The Curator founders after getting shot by Raiders, the team was reduced to 4 people. Mr. O'malley, the leader of the group, was extremely disheartened by the death of his over-200 year old lover. He began taking risks, thinking that death would bring him back to his lover, uncaring if he died or not, putting the three other Curators before himself. This, however, actually improved the effectiveness of the group and got them into The Commonwealth and established a rather nice, quaint presence there after reaching Diamond City.
They remain in The Commonwealth today.
More members from The Capital Wasteland joined The Curators through a discreet recruitment program. The program was not public, but it often starts through tests... such as, when someone takes an interest in pre-war books or the symbols The Curators use. When a normal, sane person (non-raider) begins showing intelligence around a Curator member, they are often reported to The Librarian through the long-range transmitter and evaluated through a risk assessment and personality assessment.
If they person doesn't pose that much of a risk and the personality matches that of an open-minded intellectual (or something close to it), the person is often given the chance to become a Curator and will always see The Archive before their duty for collecting knowledge begins.
The Librarian (Lucy) remains in The Archive, comfortable with The Curators work and success.
2290:
The current year.
It is often discussed among The Curators when they will actually open up and begin teaching people, now that the group has become quite large in numbers. The Librarian promises "soon" and encourages individuals to begin their work teaching, but not in the name of The Curators, only themselves- this is so when they announce their presence in The Capital Wasteland, the teachers will already be known.
But The Librarian is still awaiting word from Mr. O'malley in The Commonwealth...
