Mr. O'malley
Character Name: Cormac O'malley
Nickname(s): The Irish Ghoul, O.
Race: Ghoul

Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland
Height: 5'9
Weight: Nine pounds. You lose weight when all your flesh falls off..

Hair Color: Light brown
Hair Style: Shaggy... it often falls off.
Facial Hair: N/A.
Skin Color: Burnt. Red. Orange. Ghoulified.

Distinguishing Features: O'malley tries to cover himself due to his decaying flesh from being a really old ghoul.
Profession: Before the War, O'malley was an engineer. Now he is a member of The Curators, a knowledge gatherer.
Skills: O'malley is very good at setting up traps and barricades... and if that fails, he has had 200 years of experience to learn how to use an automatic rifle. If anything, he is very good at staying alive.
Training: Educated pre-war, trained in engineering.
Other Abilities: O'malley is good with technology to an extent... though probably a "novice" level of experience.

Religious Belief: After seeing the world fall before his eyes, O'malley is atheist.
Sexual Preference: Was Heterosexual, now Aesexual.
Relationship Status: Widower.
Personality: O'malley is what you'd expect for an over 200-year old Ghoul whose wife recently died.
In nature, O'malley is a kind man. He has a heart of gold, which is ironic for his Irish origins back before the war. His old age and recent death of his wife, however, has made him seem harsh in nature, spartan in attitude and uncaring to those who do not do what he tells them to do. But in reality, he just wishes for the best for everyone around him- always putting himself in harms way to do so.
Most would call him lucky for staying alive this long...
History:
Born in 2045 in Dublin, Ireland, Cormac O'malley was well-educated and trained to be an engineer, like his father. He wasn't a scientist, but the machines that the scientists used, the generator shells, the suits of power armour... O'malley was an expert in his field of repair and creation. When robots failed, he was the one who either repaired the robot or did the robots job.
It was around the 2050's where he met Grace, the love of his life, his childhood sweetheart. They grew up together and worked together when things were tough. In the 2060's, when they came of age, they married and became Mr. and Mrs. O'malley.
Cormac and Grace O'malley moved to America in 2072, wishing to both live the "American Dream" and get better jobs in advanced technology. They first lived in Boston before moving to Washington DC in 2076.
In 2077, however... the unexpected happened. When the bombs fell, Grace and Cormac were having an argument aboard a metro. After the initial shock (and pain) from slowly becoming ghouls, watching their flesh fall off and others around them slowly turn feral, they quickly learnt to survive and explored the ruined DC to find hope of survival... to which, they found very little.
Together, they collected what they could- food (at this point, they didn't know they didn't need it), scraps, weapons, books... anything from their home, personal possessions- they then began their journey to find a new home since their current one was missing a roof and the local pond turned green.
They set out into the ruins of DC...
Grace and Cormac were, oddly, not driven to insanity. Over 200 years, they often went outside looking for something new. They watched the world develop around them (Rivet City interested them greatly when it was founded), trading and telling tales, often repairing items like Pip-Boys and desk fans. But together they lived quite comfortably inside an underground library in the Georgetown Public Library, near the ruins of the White House. Together they learnt to fight, play cards, collect books, pre-war items... anything that they thought would rebuild the world back to the pre-war days.
This dream, they quickly realized, was just a fantasy... because sooner of later, problems arose. Violence came. Raiders, Super Mutants, radioactive bugs... the horrors that Mr. and Mrs. O'malley had to overcome to stay alive. They began making traps around the Library of Congress, constantly set up barricades, destroyed the elevators, anything that showed the Library may still be used to hide away. They stopped going out eventually, keeping themselves amused by old films and books within the library...
..But ultimately- they had eachother.
In 2285, three rather unsuspected strangers wondered into the Georgetown Public Library and triggered the traps- one of them, a brown haired girl, was shot by one said trap. Having both been altered by the sound of a gunshot (and the interest of visitors), the two O'malleys rushed to the scene where they found the wounded woman. They quickly took the trio into the underground library, their home, and patched up the girl's knee the best they could... but they were no doctors.
This is where they met Lucy (the woman who was shot by a trap), Corvus Blackwater and Jessica Rose- possibly the kindest and most misunderstood people they had met since the bombs fell. After guaranteeing them they won't do anymore harm and that the traps were up to keep ferals, mutants and beasts away, the five quickly became friends.
Over the span of two days, the O'malleys got to know these three better... though Grace and Cormac had to explain some pre-war information to them, as they seemed ultimately interested.
Jessica explained that she wanted to teach The Wasteland lost knowledge, Lucy explained she just wanted to learn and Corvus explained her lost wife's interest in collecting pre-war items. The O'malleys, of course, explained their own history and connection to the pre-war world... and their dream to also educate the Capital Wasteland and hopefully beyond.
It was on this day The Curators were formed, Grace and Cormac as two of the founders.
Between 2285 - 2288, Mr. and Mrs. O'malley set out into the outside world to bring information back to Lucy (The Librarian) in their home which they had been self-trapped in for just over 200 years. The two actually bought in interesting information to The Curators, having been able to enter The Underworld with ease and understand most of the old pre-war information. They added information to The Archive from before the war the best they could.
In 2288, a man called Gary Gotham came to The Capital Wasteland from The Commonwealth. The man was quickly found by The Curators and bought to The Librarian's and The O'malleys attention. He explained his situation that he was "escaping the Commonwealth" and then told them all he knew about The Commonwealth.
Amazed by this news and, having lived in Boston for 4 years, Mr. and Mrs. O'malley set up an expedition to enter The Commonwealth with The Curators approval.
They left for Boston with 12 people... but when they got there, they only had 7.
2289 changed everything for Cormac O'malley. When they arrived in the Commonwealth, they were attacked by a group of Raiders who would never stop hunting them. For a time, they managed to get rid of them- but they always found a way to somehow keep up. Unexpectedly, during mid-conversation heading north to Boston, Grace O'malley was shot in the back of the head and killed.
With his wife dead, Mr. O'malley swore he wouldn't let another person die out of the 6 Curator's left. He told them to hide- and "dealt" with the Raiders, expecting death- but he didn't die. Instead, his burning fury made the deaths of the Raider's so brutal, it made O'malley wonder if he was going feral.
From that moment on, O'malley was never the same. His lover was dead and all he had for the memory of her was her scarf.
In current day, Cormac and the other six Curators are in The Commonwealth, gathering all the information they can so that they can eventually send it back to The Archive and head home... but Cormac's realization of how harsh The Commonwealth is compared to The Capital Wasteland's more... predictable nature isn't making it easy.
