He will always opt for the stun setting, or a none-lethal approach to take down a criminal, despite believing some criminals do deserve death. Despite a greying of the law in his experience often gets the job done, he knows his limits, and as such will never cross them. Alsod lives a regimented lifestyle, a leftover from his old military lifestyle. He spares little time for pleasure and entertainment, though he’ll never refuse a drink with a friend or trusted ally. Occasionally he makes use of the various CSF bars dotted about Coruscant, his favourite being the one on the surface.
History
Born six years before the battle of Yavin to two Duros rebels, the young child was by no means protected from the horrors of war. By the age of four, he lost his mother in an Imperial raid on a base he and his mother lived in on the planet of Dorlo. Alsod was captured in the incident, having been discovered by the Stormtroopers and was spared when they realised his father was missing. The captain of the assault, seeing an opportunity to draw out more Rebels, released Alsod’s picture oer the holonet. The captain labelled Alsod’s parents traitors to the empire and stated that the boy would be transferred into a more ‘loyal’ family to be brought up to be a proper Imperial citizen.
Needless to say, his father was provoked into action, when information of Alsod’s transportation to a prison colony world reached the Rebellion. The four year old Alsod was being transported along with other Imperial prisoners when the convoy came under attack by a rebel fleet. Alsod’s father, a fighter pilot managed to knock out the engines on the ship Alsod was on, just as reinforcements for the empire arrived, springing the trap. Fortunately for the Rebels they had foreseen he trap, and had already called for a second fleet, which arrived shortly after. The ensuing fight caused an Imperial defeat and the eventual capture of the Acclamator-vessel Alsod had been on. Once the prisoners had been transferred to the Rebel vessels, it was scuttled and Alsod was reunited with his father.
Alsod’s father quickly took him away from the fighting, placing him with a Duros family far from the reach of the Imperials.
Eight years later, and after barely seeing his father, Alsod was surprised when his father came with a ship to transport him to the newly liberated Coruscant. After travelling to the galactic capital, Alsod started formal schooling and the New Republic military base, whilst his father went off to be a hero once again.
Six more years would pass until Alsod would join his father in the military. Unlike his father, who spent his years in the Navy, Alsod would opt to join the armed forces. Once his training was complete, Alsod was flown off to Corellian sector, where he would become, for all intents and purposes, a rebel soldier fighting for the freedom of all the planets there. With relatively few resources, due to the New Republic being stretched thinly across the galaxy helping other uprisings, it was of no surprise that the years were long and hard.
More often than not, Alsod found himself working on his own, defending himself against three or more imperial storm troopers who were equally as tired of fighting as he was (by his second year). Being tired didn’t necessarily mean that they wanted to give up. In fact it just made them fight harder, fight deadlier. They wanted it to be over and so they fought with their all. Alsod had fallen during the fight, injured and alone in one of the hangars when storm troopers cornered him. He’d been about to die, when suddenly the ship in the hangar fired a volley into his pursuers killing them all.
Having seen the fighting between the two parties, the captain of the vessel, a small Rodian woman named Irdii had allowed her sympathies to the Duro people to get the better of her. Before she knew it, she had killed some Stormtroopers. Knowing that the heavy blaster burns from her ship would ultimately be traced back to her, she quickly grabbed the much larger Alsod pulled him aboard and took off. She then opted to hide in the shadow of Koli’s second moon at the end of the Duro system, hidden away from Imperial eyes. There she tended to the soldier’s wounds. The two joked that she had given up her life for his and that they should be married because of such devotion. Whilst a joke at the time, it was seemingly the catalyst in their romance, as they soon became interested in each other. It was quickly apparent to Alsod’s fellow rebels, when they finally got back to base. From that point on Irdii was their extract when things got tough. As her ship got more and more banged up, she joked that it was getting to the point where Alsod would have no other choice but to marry her. Alsod agreed that if her ship ever got shot down, they would be wed. Within two months, Irdii’s ship went down above the capital on Duro. When Alsod and his fellow Rebels rescued Irdii from the wreckage, he told her that she had allowed herself to be shot down on purpose in order to trap him. Of course she denied the claim, though she held him to his word and the two were married the following day.
Their marriage, for one that started in war, was rather good. They developed quite the bond both off and on the battlefield. Irdii got herself a new ship from the New Republic, and was fully incorporated by the New Republic. Alsod got a promotion, and was taught Rodese by Irdii during their freetime. Years would pass until the Republic was finally in a position to assault Duro, after many years of resistance forces softening and preparing for the eventual invasion by 17 ABY.
When the invasion commenced, Alsod, Irdii and the rest of the rebel cell was sent after the planetary shield, whilst the fleet above distracted the Imperials. Irdii, ever the professional, got them as close as she possibly could to the planetary shield. Her ‘close’ meant directly in the window, as her ship was scraping the metal walls of the emitter, with the door of her ship pressed against the window she had just blown out. Her actions allowed their insertion to be relatively easy and the command room was soon taken over. Alsod took the job of security whilst some of the others began powering down the planetary shields, though when the Imperial guards realised what they were doing, they decided to destroy the shield, rather than allow it to fall into Republic hands, thus making any invasion virtually impossible. Alsod, seeing the imperials stacking explosives on the shield generators, decided to take two men and deal with the imperial guards. As they descended the structure, Irdii ran interference on the reinforcements heading towards the shield emitter.
Soon enough Alsod and his men were fighting over the generator rooms, having stopped the troopers from fully realising their plan. Unfortunately, the imperials, seeing their impending doom, detonated their explosives in a hope to accomplish their goal and take the rebels with them. What resulted were half a generator being destroyed, a loss in power of the planetary shield allowing the Republic Fleet in, and very minor burns on Alsod and his men. Due to the mistake on the part of the imperial troopers, Duro fell to the Republic and was liberated completely within two weeks.
During the next three years, Alsod fought in conflicts in and around the Corellian sector, namely in the liberations of Sacorria, Goorla and Rydonni Prime. Soon enough Alsod and Irdii became decorated for their actions in the Corellian sector and the two believed it was only a matter of time before they invaded Corellia and helped liberate the planet from the Imperial occupiers. First however, was the Nubia system, which sat on the Corellian Trade Spine making it a staging ground to any assault into the system. In 19 ABY, the Republic invaded Nubia. Though badly beaten due to Republic actions in the sector, they fought gallantly. Ship after ship of the Republic went down. Alsod had been on the surface of Nubia when the comm came through that Irdii had been shot down by an Imperial star destroyer and was about to crash into the planet. Naturally he quickly headed to the scene. By the time he got there, the ship was nothing but wreckage. Though confirmation was yet to come, Alsod knew she had died. After being taken back to base, Alsod had to be ordered to fight for Nubia, for his brothers and for Irdii’s memory.
Fuelled by the loss of his beloved, Alsod led his troops to a relatively quick victory over Nubia’s ground forces. By the end of the fighting above, Alsod had realised he was done fighting in war, submitting his resignation by 20 ABY. It proved to be a coincidence that Corellia threw off the shackles of the Imperials in the same year, thus averting any need for Republic assistance.
Once Alsod’s resignation was accepted, he returned to Coruscant and took up a desk job with the Coruscant Security Forces. He’d initially been stationed in the upper levels of Coruscant, dealing with senate security details, patrols and other such activities. Over the following months, though he grieved, he served with distinction. He was however quickly bored, and as such was given too much time to grieve. Given this wasn’t exactly what he wanted, Alsod transferred to the detective branch of the CSF, and then moved to the lower levels, buying a cheap apartment. He was close enough to the sector headquarters, but far enough away that he had very little worries about the work following him home.
One of Alsod’s first cases involved a brutal murder of an alien in one of the lower levels of the galactic city. The case would lead him to a mercenary gang, which had taken over a nearby warehouse. There was a drawn out firefight, one that eventually brought CSF reinforcements. Having seen how powerful the mercenary’s blaster was, Alsod opted to ‘misplace’ one and keep it for himself. Whilst people were far too aware that the detective had gained himself a new blaster.
Now settled in the underworld, fully broken in with his first case, Alsod began working the underworld of Coruscant. His cases range from anything to explosions, missing people, murders and riots. Despite having been in the underworld for a few years, he’s still a relatively new face, yet to see proper action.
