The town-turned-bazaar of Canterbury Commons was as welcoming a place as any to wanderers and vagrants, and even turn-coats and deserters. It had always been that way, even back before the Brotherhood of Steel asserted dominance in the region, the city had a band of traders that travelled as far as Tenpenny Tower, while the common wanderer would spread the word of the city to many others. People flocked there, and though few stayed, in time the place grew to heights unimagined. Of the ten buildings standing in the small ruined town, only three had been inhabited thirteen years ago. Now, many had been gutted out and renovated, with new stores, common houses, and general developments notable. Along with the increased sum of traders, of weapons, medical supplies, apparel, and even purified water from the Potomac, not to mention robot wardens under the control of the mysterious Mechanist figure, the city was something to truly gawk at.
But, like much of the Capital Wasteland, its positives were easily outweighed by its one, looming negative. The Brotherhood of Steel. Their iron fist had fallen hard upon the commons, and though the two operated mutually, with the caps and coins of Canterbury being swapped for the steel and lasers of the Brotherhood, it still proved something imposing. The average scribe or aspirant was one thing, but when Knights and Paladins could be seen, scanning the streets for signs of technological wonders, ransacking the traders for the oft carried valuables from foreign regions, it just proved as terrifying as if the Enclave had assumed control. Worst of all was when you wandered into town carrying something shiny on your back, inviting the tin-can army to round on you, pull you out of town, and undo everything you'd worked for.
Canterbury Commons. The hub, the home, the hell.

Man, I hope that was all right. I don't wanna dip my toe into things I'm not allowed to.
In any case, this is going to become a bit of a campaign (a word I only thought of thanks to Vladical, thank you), with a series of events and adventures all revolving around, you guessed it, Canterbury Commons. Over the course of the campaign we'll drift as far as perhaps the Grisly Diner, the Corvega Factory, and maybe even the Regulator HQ. Of course, for this starting thread, we'll be sticking to Canterbury Commons and perhaps the Robot Repair Centre (I don't know much of its status in this RP, if it's super off limits we of course wont touch it).
This RP is, obviously, set within the Fallout Universe, and in our timeline, and all that jazz. The general 'plot' of this campaign is going to be tied in with the Brotherhood of Steel, the Lyons Sympathisers, and the New/Pride Outcasts. Others of course can tie into this, anythings possible in this game, but the major focus is going to be on these forces. This is also going to serve as the first thread for Daniel (once he's approved), and his minor goals of repairing and setting up the KX-B8-11 relay tower, as well as properly aligning with the Sympathisers and Outcasts, are going to play roles in this RP most likely. Of course, people can take this any direction they want to, but for the overall campaign I'd like to stick to the western regions of the Capital Wasteland, within the ring of Brotherhood and trader influence.
This thread will be updated over time. If you're keen, please comment with any ideas or proposals, questions or concerns, or just let me know you're interested.
