When not enraged, it would be difficult for one to think of him as a Sith; he has a dry, dark and sarcastic sense of humour and has a charm to him that makes it difficult to not like him even the slightest amount - a fact that he is aware of and uses to his full advantage in order to manipulate people into doing his bidding.
Under all his crafty charm are the characteristics expected of a Sith. He is egotistical, arrogant and has an insatiable lust for power over both people and possessions. When reaching the point of a full-on rage episode, Valhar completely loses what empathy and compassion he has, becoming sadistic and willing to do things that would disturb even the cruellest of characters. This tendency combined with his powerful manipulative abilities makes him an effective interrogator.

History
Grayson Kenhal was born to Larzane and Carnya Kenhal on Level 1997 of the Coruscant underworld. Larzane, his father, was a slythmonger - a competitive and dangerous market that was his downfall. 2 months before Grayson's birth, Larzane was killed by a rival slythmonger. His late father's crippling addictions to the various drugs he was selling led to him becoming deranged and abusive towards Carnya, leaving her emotionally scarred and unstable from her experiences. This abuse was then passed onto Grayson throughout his childhood - Carnya neglected and verbally abused her child up until her suicide when he was 8 years old. The traumatised boy was left to fend for himself alone in the Coruscant underworld, scavenging for food and begging for credits.
After a year, Grayson's constant struggle for survival was finally getting the best of him; he was severely malnourished and emotionally distraught. Had the undercover Sith agent not noticed him curled up on the street, he would've most certainly perished. His connection with the Force was startling, and he was full of unreleased frustration. He was broken; the perfect recruit, easy to manipulate and bend to the will of the Sith. The agent abducted Grayson, who was too weak to contest or question, and the pair left via starship. There were several other children of and around Grayson's age already on board the ship, and all appeared to be just as fearful as he was. Shortly after the ship's journey began, Grayson befriended a Zeltron boy, Bahron Reema, and his sister Dexie. The three were rarely seen without each other and took solace in each other's company, for the most part keeping their distance from the other children. The agent took them from planet to planet for 8 months, sometimes leaving for weeks on end, each time returning with more children. Over the 8 months spent on the ship, Grayson was well fed and well slept (at least compared to what he had become accustomed to) and was soon a fully healthy young boy. He still did not know who the man that had taken him and other children was, but he knew that he had saved his life and that was enough to comfort him.
At least, it was until their arrival on Korriban. The children were herded off the ship and lined up in front of their soon-to-be new teachers, and one-by-one the children were assigned to a teacher. Grayson, Bahron and Dexie's close relationship was quickly noticed by the teachers, and thus began Grayson's descent to the Dark Side. His first lesson was early and brutal: do not form friendships. The teachers gave the three children vibroblades and ordered them to kill one another right there and then. Unaware of the consequences of disobedience, they immediately refused to do so. The three children were struck by Force Lightning, a pain unlike anything Grayson could've possibly comprehended. The eletrocution was merely a few seconds, though it felt like hours had passed when it was over and the order to fight was reissued. This time around there were no qualms; all three children, petrified of further punishment, began to duel. The confrontation was brief. Dexie was the first to strike - a half-hearted swing in Grayson's direction. Grayson responded to this with a fast slash, gutting the Zeltron girl. Left completely in shock by his action, raw instinct guided his follow-up swing that tore through Bahron's throat as he charged forwards in underwhelming rage. The teachers were pleased with Grayson's quick and fluid blade movements and he was quickly claimed and assigned to a class.
Training was intense and painful. Punishments were handed out on a regular basis. The pain of the electrocutions became something that Grayson was used to, but still not something that he could bear. The ruthless teaching methods all but drained any of his former personality out of him and following instructions became as simple as breathing in and out. Grayson excelled at lightsaber combat, standing out as one of the most promising duellists of his age in the academy. Though there was one student in his class who topped him in duelling - a fellow human boy, Ernber Fenrac, who was a late addition to the class. It was no secret to the class that Ernber had been trained by a Sith Lord prior to becoming a student at the academy and this was made apparent by his fighting style - far more brutal and offence-based than the combat styles being taught to them in their classes. For weeks, he watched in awe as the brute-strength tactics Ernber employed left his opponents unsure on how to defend themselves and without much window to strike back, until he finally decided to approach his teacher in order to seek more knowledge on this fighting style. He learnt that it was known as Juyo, and was scarcely taught in classes at the academy due to it's heavily intensive requirements - though this did not ward off Grayson's hunger to learn this Form. His teacher, seeing a perfect opportunity to give Ernber some competition, agreed to give Grayson lessons in Juyo and also provided him with Sith books detailing the use of the Form. Grayson dedicated all of his spare time to learning about and practising Juyo, eager to rid himself of his competition and make himself noticed as the most capable duellist in both his class and the academy itself. Each day, the class would allocate time to duelling one another to measure their progression in their lightsaber skills. Each day, it would come down to Grayson and Ernber, and though each duel came gradually closer to Grayson's favour, Ernber consistently came out on top. This repetitive failure angered Grayson, and this build-up of anger was precisely what Grayson needed to turn the fight in his favour - after two years of constant practise and constant failure, he simply had enough and snapped, quickly overwhelming and disarming Ernber in a momentary blur of fury. His teacher, thrilled with Grayson's dedication and skill, ordered him to strike Ernber down. The order was followed through with no hesitation.
As Grayson's obsession with perfecting his fighting capabilities and eliminating his competition increased, so did the frequency of these moments of rage - though Grayson saw this as a gift rather than a hindrance as they allowed him to harness untapped strength and speed. His complete focus on lightsaber combat saw the standard of his Force abilities fall behind that of the rest of his class, though he cared little; he had a firm grasp of basic abilities and viewed himself as a far superior trainee compared to the rest of his classmates. This egotistical view paved the way for his darkened personality, and as he became more sociable his fellow students began to respect him as well as fear him. But he had learned his lesson on the day of his arrival two years ago, and made sure to never get too close with any of his classmates - a particularly smart idea considering the stakes of the duels was increasing as the students grew older and maturer and executions following disarming opponents became instructed more and more. By the time Grayson turned 12 years old, the class of 30 had dwindled to 16.
This was also the age Grayson was approached by his future master, Lord Zraqa, who agreed to take Grayson under his wing as his apprentice if he could complete three tasks - though Grayson would not know what these tasks were until he had agreed to undertake them. His arrogance got the best of him and he accepted Lord Zraqa's proposal. His first task seemed simple enough - go to the deserts of Korriban. Lord Zraqa presented him with two gifts: a wolf companion, whom Grayson named Snarl, and a vibroblade. Grayson and his new ally left the academy at once, wandering out into the Korriban desert where Lord Zraqa was waiting for him. As suspected, there was a catch to Grayson's task; he had to survive in the desert until Zraqa returned to give him his next task. The difficulty of this task was greatly underestimated by Grayson, who had once again let his ego get the better of him. Within mere days of his trial beginning, the Korriban desert had all but chewed Grayson up and spat him back out. The weather and terrain were brutal and he had no source of food. On the sixth day, he encountered a Tuk'ata whilst aimlessly wandering the unforgiving expanses of dry desert, and his lack of strength and motivation made the encounter a difficult one to win. Though he was roughed up, Grayson managed to kill the Tuk'ata and fed both himself and Snarl with it's meat, making sure to conserve a decent amount of it to take with him. Whenever the pair came across a Tuk'ata, they would work together to take it down and keep themselves going. Grayson formed a bond with his wolf companion, acknowledging that neither would still be alive at this point if it weren't for the other. It took 5 weeks for the pair to be found by Zraqa, who praised Grayson's resourcefulness - he had expected him to of been forced to resort to eating Snarl to keep going.
"Good work. Kill the mutt."
Grayson could not look at the wolf as it let out it's final whimper - a bewildered realisation of betrayal. His first task has been completed, and he had emerged from it tougher than he went into it.
His second task was a welcome change of pace, though was still not a walk in the park - he was tasked with constructing his own personal lightsaber. The first stage of doing so was creating the synthcrystal that would produce the blade, and he was provided access to a geological compressor to do so. Zraqa permitted him to make whatever modifications he wished to make to his synthcrystal and his lightsaber as a whole, though he did not fuss about with the aesthetics of the hilt - the crystal, however, was altered to be orange in colour; Grayson believed that when the time came to battle against the New Republic and the Jedi Order, he would be far more powerful than his fellow Sith, and thus should stand out amongst them. After the lengthy meditation process was completed, Grayson had made a weapon he was proud to wield, one that would serve him well in the years to come. Grayson presented his completed lightsaber to Lord Zraqa, who then gave him his final trial - killing the Sith Lord's current apprentice, a male Twi'lek by the name of Otik Vida.
In the dead of night, Grayson entered Otik's quarters anticipating them to be sound asleep. What he found was the Twi'lek wide awake and awaiting his arrival. He had clearly been informed that an attempt would be made on his life. The two young Sith activated their lightsabers in unison and charged at one another, blades clashing in a furious flurry of attacks. It didn't take long for Grayson's far superior aggressive fighting style to begin to overpower Otik, who then utilised their Force abilities - which were most impressive for somebody so young - to gain the upper hand. The Twi'lek used Force Grip on him, raising him from the ground and bringing him within blades reach. But Otik, much like Grayson, was too cocky for their own good and simply used Shiim on his face, allowing the duel to continue in the hopes of finding another opportunity to antagonise and humiliate their opponent. Otik was unaware of the dire consequences that followed angering Grayson, and quickly found themselves overwhelmed in the powerful unrelenting barrage of strikes that followed. As soon as the opportunity presented itself, Grayson pushed his blade through Otik's gut, dropping him to his knees. With the final decapitating swing, Lord Zraqa revealed his presence; he had been watching the fight in the shadows. Though he was slightly disappointed by the effort wasted on training Otik, he was impressed by Grayson's far greater potential and already existing skill. That night, Zraqa pronounced Grayson as his new apprentice, and from then on his birth name became forgotten and he was known as Valhar.
Valhar left his class at the Sith academy and began full training under his new master. Fairly satisfied with Valhar's lightsaber skills, Lord Zraqa predominantly focused the lessons on enhancing his Force powers, especially his use of Dark Side mind tricks such as Horror and Illusion which were practised on prisoners and academy students that required punishment more severe than the norm. The master and his apprentice would spend hours after training sessions discussing the history of the Sith Order and the wisdom of following the Dark Side, and Valhar grew to strongly dislike Lord Zraqa's unusual modesty and acceptance of the fact that he was weaker than those that had came before him; he had no competitive spirit, no drive. It would be a magnificent day when he could strike him down, though Valhar focused on honing his Force abilities in lessons and his lightsaber skills in his spare time, eager to make that day arrive as soon as possible.
6 years later, when Valhar was 18, the day came. Countless suicide missions and strenuous tests had refined him into a hardened and efficient killing machine, and he finally felt prepared to take on the duties of Lord Zraqa. Just as he had six years ago with the Twi'lek, Valhar waited until nightfall; and just like the Twi'lek, Zraqa was waiting for him. Though he did not ready himself, nor did he flee, as Valhar approached him with his lightsaber activated. He expressed his approval of Valhar's decision, accepting his fate having believed that he had passed on all of the knowledge that he could. This narrow-minded surrender only gave Valhar more reason to put him down. As he retracted his blade from his former master's chest and watched the life drain from his eyes, he felt no remorse - only pride. Valhar's descent into the Dark Side had been completed, and he was truly fit to claim the late Zraqa's title.
After a short period of irritating waiting, Valhar was officially granted the title of Sith Lord for slaying his master, taking command of Zraqa's Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, Deluge, as well as it's personal pilot, a Sullustan named Jov Tarss. Lord Valhar wasted no time in scouting out his first apprentice, spending the next few weeks observing classes at the academy until he found somebody that stood out among the rest. This person was Lyn Lirciti, a 17-year-old female Twi'lek showing promising potential in her duelling abilities. Valhar approached the girl and offered her apprenticeship under him. He spared her of an insane, borderline torturous test; he simply asked that she be willing to obey and persist through the predictably strenuous times that lay ahead. Lyn accepted the offer, and training began immediately. Although Valhar understood that, if all went as it should, the time would come when Lyn would attempt to take his life, he still wanted to delay this for as long as possible by forming a bond with his Twi'lek apprentice. And so, at the end of the first month of training the pair travelled to Corellia. Though lessons continued in the mountains during their 2 week stay, it was far more laid back than the standard on Korriban and most of their time was spent in cantinas. Valhar also visited the planet's black market, where he bought his DE-10 blaster and used his Force mind tricks combined with his natural persuasive charm to trade Deluge in for a Kom'rk-class fighter which he named the Callous Osprey. As Valhar and Lyn were making their way to the hangar storing his new ship, he sensed a powerful connection to the Force nearby and sought it out, finding a young Zabrak boy, Gamon Drotu, orphaned and begging on the street. The child reminded Lord Valhar much of his past self, and this combined with the boy's sensitivity to the Force made him the ideal choice for a second apprentice.
Over the course of the next 9 years, Lord Valhar has dedicated his time towards improving both his and his two apprentice's skills through countless fights and missions mostly involving rooting out ancient Sith artifacts. He is itching to make his presence known, and feared, to the New Jedi Order and the rest of the galaxy.
