Recently, communications with the Malkenan system (located in the Segmentum Tempestus sector) have gone dark. While many of the planets in the system are uninhabitable, the Hive World on Malkenan IV has become a very popular place for Imperial Governors in the surrounding systems to store there off-planet wealth. As such it is up to you, a fragment of the 404th Cadian Regiment. A single ship, the 'Pyre of Divinity' (better known to the rest of the regiment as the 'Scrub Boat', as it is home to many of the newly conscripted soldiers) has been split off from the main fleet, and has been given an estimate of six days after entering orbit to resolve the issue before returning to the regiment when it moves back past the system.
And you are unlucky enough to be on-board.
The Pyre of Divinity is currently operated by 300 men and women (including staff and crew, servitors excluded) and 2000 Cadian Shock Troopers, organized into 300 platoons of 60 troops, and 3 command platoons.
You have been assigned to the 404th Cadian Regiment 18th Company 78th Infantry Platoon Bravo Squad.
So yeah, this thread again. For the moment we're trying to stay strictly Imperial, preferably without an SPEHSS MEHREEENS. Ask around if you need any 40K lore, and if you need anything about this regiment's history feel free to ask. I'll let you know if there's anything outrageous about the characters. That is all for now.

Rank: Sergeant.
Assigned Squad: 404th Cadian Regiment 18th Company 78th Infantry Platoon Bravo Squad.
MOS: SGT.
Basic Training: Lynn has undertaken the standard training for a Cadian Shock Trooper, however since her promotion has undertaken officer training as well. She has field experience with both of these.

Sexual Preference: Heterosexual.
Relationship Status: Single.
Personality: Lynn is widely respected by the troops she has served with and over, as while she follows her duties and can be hard on others, she has a deep sense of camaraderie. That being said, she is well aware of the dangers of the battlefield, and tries not to cross the line between comrade and friend, lest she have to bear the consequences. On the battlefield, she is fierce, always one to face her enemies head on rather than cowering behind others. Combining all of these, she makes an effective leader, and has on several occasions been more effective in coercing her comrades to stand their ground than the Commissars, whose methods are less than favourable.
Service Record:
Lynnette was first officially enlisted at the age of eighteen and spent a year in basic training. After completion she was immediately transferred to Cadia, where she would continue to serve for the next four. The first was relatively uneventful, as her unit was not assigned to the front lines, and they were mainly there to pick off any stragglers that managed to reach their position. Minimal casualties were suffered, whilst victory was always easily within their grasp. However, they had only just touched the surface of the struggle that is the war against Chaos.
Lynnette’s next few years on Cadia were much more vicious. She fought in numerous conflicts, and was one of the few survivors of her platoon on several occasions. During her third year, in a particularly gruelling battle against the legions of Chaos, both the Sergeant and Corporal of her squad were cut down when they were suppressed by heavy bolter fire. She took make-shift command of her squad, and the platoon managed to hold out until reinforcements arrived. After the newly arrived Basilisks had softened up their Chaos opposition, she was amongst the first to join in the counter-attack. They won the battle, without any further losses to her squad and only two minor injuries. She was later commended for her bravery, and was later made the new Sergeant of her squad. When her term was up, she transferred off Cadia, deciding she wanted to see before her life ended than the barren earth and fortresses of the planet.
Lynnette joined the 404th Cadian Regiment, and quickly secured the respect of her fellow soldiers aboard the Pyre of Divinity. As the fleet moved, Lynn would serve in many minor conflicts – usually assisting Planetary Governors and their troops suppress Chaos cults and other un-pleasantries. The 404th was held up for another three years when they encountered a planet whose occupants had completely succumbed to the taint of Chaos except for a small handful of loyalists. While not overly well equipped, the Traitors knew their home planet well, and were not going to give up their fortifications easily. Lynnette lost many men and women during those three years, however her willpower never faulted, and she led many assaults against the Traitors. Once the majority of the enemy forces had been crushed, they evacuated the loyalists, then bombed the tainted planet from orbit. There was no saving a place so vile.
The fleet continued down through the Segmentum Tempestus, once more joining in minor conflicts here and there. The 404th was called to the Loki sector to temporarily join up with the 629th and the Space Marines of the Crimson Fists chapter, to annihilate another Ork Waaagh! that had cropped up. The year Lynnette had spent fighting the Orks was on par with her four years on Cadia for levels of brutality. They were forced to abandon the planet of Caligan X to the Orkish invaders, and a counter-attack was planned with haste. Her unit fought heroically during the battle, but was caught in an Ork Blitza-Bomber bombing run. Lynn survived the explosions, however lost her arm and suffered severe injuries over most of the right side of her body. Thankfully, a surviving member of her squad dragged her to a medic, who kept her alive until she could be transported off-planet. When she finally awoke, the planet of Caligan X had been reclaimed by Imperial forces. Her right arm and eye had been replaced with cybernetics, as well as countless bones in her torso and leg. As soon as she was able, she returned to battle in the campaign against the Orks. The war was short-lived, and once again the 404th Cadian Regiment was on its way. A couple of years later, they were forced to return to Caligan X to fend off yet another Orkish invasion, remnants of the one they had previously thought destroyed. The 404th, once more with the assistance of the Crimson Fists, crushed the Ork opposition. Lynnette has yet to take part in any battles since then, as the fleet has slowly made its way further and further into the Tempestus Segmentum.

Weight: 168 lbs
Eye Color: Green.
Hair Color: Between fair and light brown.
Hair Style: Short, often messy.
Facial Hair: Shaven.
Skin Color: Caucasian.
Build: A little on the scrawny side, but surprisingly sturdy.
Distinguishing Features: None.
Rank: Trooper.
Assigned Squad: 404th Cadian Regiment 18th Company 78th Infantry Platoon Bravo Squad.
MOS: Vox Operator.
Basic Training: Jonas has undertaken standard Guardsman training, as well as learnt the intricacies of the Vox system.
Armor: Flak Armour, full Cadian Shock Trooper dress, Cadian Aquilla Pattern Combat Helmet with Vox Mouthpiece.
Weaponry: M36 Kantrael Pattern Lasgun, Autopistol, Combat Knife, Frag Grenades (x2), Krak Grenades (x2)
Other Equipment: 4 Charge Packs, 2 Autopistol Clips, Rebreather, Micro-Bead, Poor Weather Gear, Rucksack, Entrenching Tool, Basic Toolkit, Mess Kit & Water Canteen, 2 weeks' Rations, Blanket & Sleep Bag, Rechargeable Lamp-Pack, Grooming Kit, Dog Tags, Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer, Vox-caster.
Zealousness: Jonas had not originally thought much of the Imperial Faith, however since the taint of Chaos spread to his planet he has slowly found himself more inclined towards it.
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual.
Relationship Status: Single.
Personality: Jon is a surprisingly upbeat and easy-going person considering his occupation. He is almost always in a ‘good’ mood, and looks upon every situation in life with optimism. Jon had always wanted to become a member of the Guardsmen, however it was not because of his faith in the Emperor, but because he had always enjoyed the stories from when he was a kid. Stories of brave heroes fighting off legions of monsters. He had always wanted to be like those heroes, however the unfortunate fate of his planet forced him to become one sooner than he had expected.
Service Record: Jonas enlisted in the planetary Guardsmen force shortly after he turned 16. He had barely completed basic training when disaster struck the planet. The Chaos cults that had been building up their forces in the shadow of the planets cities finally reached the point where they outnumbered the planetary Guardsmen, and shortly after began openly committed their vile deeds. Their infestation began small. Abductions and attempts to sway others to their cause, however it quickly escalated to full-fledged war against the Guardsmen. The planets defences gradually fell to the overwhelming amount of Chaos worshippers, and within months they were pushed back to their last few cities. When all was thought lost, their saviours arrived; The 404th Cadian Regiment.
The planet was thoroughly cleansed of the Cultists, any surviving untainted individuals rescued, and soon after the planet was destroyed from orbit. It was beyond saving.
Jonas joined the 404th Cadian Regiment 18th Company 78th Infantry Platoon Delta Squad, under the command of Sergeant Lynnette Prendaghast, and he fought in the conflict with the Ork Waaagh! on Caligan X. The squad was caught in an Ork bombing run, most of their unit being torn to pieces. Jonas and another man of their unit, Willhelm Brathier managed to escape relatively unharmed, however their Sergeant was not so lucky. Jon tried his best to slow down the bleeding, then personally carried her back to the medics, with Brathier escorting them in case they run into any Ork troops during their retreat.
The two of them returned to duty after their wounds had been treated, then a few weeks later they were re-joined with their Sergeant. All three survived the reclamation of Caligan X, along with the remnants of Theta squad. When the Orks returned two years later, the three fought once more, however Brathier was lost in the final charge. Jonas has since remained with Lynnette, the two now members of Bravo Squad.

Zealousness: Bradley is a Commissar, ‘nuff said.
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual.
Relationship Status: Married to his faith in The Emperor.
Personality: Bradley’s personality is pretty standard for Commissars. That is to say gruff, brooding and scary. He takes his work very seriously, and has no issue informing others when he thinks they are acting out of line. He is not as quick to execute his men for insubordination as many other Commissars have been known to me, but he has no issue causing them pain. He believes that those who ‘stray from the path of The Emperor’ can sometimes be saved, and that’s why he does not draw his weapons upon them until he knows they have no chance for redemption.
Service Record: Bradley was raised by the Schola Progenium, his mother having died during childbirth and his father taking ill soon after. A particularly obedient child, he was eventually recommended to join the Commissarial Cadet program. The harsh training proved too much for many of his fellow cadets-to-be, but a strong few survived through force of will and faith towards The Emperor. Once they came to a suitable age, they were assigned as Commissarial Cadets to a Guardsmen regiment, led by a veteran Commissar.
Over the course of the next 9 years, the regiment was drawn into two bloody campaigns, perfect for the cadets to prove themselves. Several did not survive, but those that did fought with the ferocity and courage that would make most Guardsmen feel ashamed. The Commissar leading the team finally decided that Bradley was worthy of a promotion, and he became a Junior Commissar.
14 Campaigns and a promotion to full Commissar later, Bradley is a highly respected individual serving the 404th Cadian Regiment, and has recently been assigned to the 18th Company 78th Infantry Platoon Bravo Squad to make up for a shortage of available soldiers to join the unit.
And you are unlucky enough to be on-board.
