The Eternal Fleet
The tale of the Eternal Fleet is a long one, spanning millennia back to the era of the Old Republic. With the death of Tenebrae, the Eternal Empire fell into chaos, with the Outlander taking control of the Eternal Throne, and eventually creating the Eternal Alliance. This too, and the fleet itself, was destroyed during the fight against the hijacked Gravestone, as the fleet was annihilated by its former flagship's Omnicannon.
This was not to be the end of the Eternal Empire, for as Tenebrae had perished before, so too had he planned for the eventuality again. With the most loyal of his followers Tenebrae prophesied his own eventual demise. Upon the death of his current host, known to most as Valkorion, his prophets began to set in motion the plans for his eventual return. Continuing to serve under Arcann during his campaign over the Old Republic and Sith Empires, the prophets found the device which Tenebrae had ordered them to reclaim - The Infinite Engine. Having originally been obtained by the Imperial Reclamation Service, the Prophets of Tenebrae recovered the Infinite Engine, and with the destruction of the Eternal Fleet by the Gravestone, the prophets of Tenebrae retreated to the Tyus Cluster in hiding from the galaxy.
What Tenebrae did not anticipate however is how weak his defeat in the mind of the Outlander would make him, and how long it would take for the galaxy to see another war bloody enough to return his strength. And so the prophets continued their mission without guidance while Tenebrae's essence hibernated. Feeding their dead to the Infinite Engine, over the passing millennia the Infinite Engine would eventually grow into the source from it was born - A Star Forge. With the Star Forge at their disposal, the Eternal Empire began the reconstruction of the Eternal Fleet.
Meanwhile, The Dark Prophets of Tenebrae returned to the rest of the galaxy to search for the return of their master, however without any galactic wars to fuel his return, the search of the dark prophets was lost over time, instead leading to schemes that would eventually create the reborn Sith Empire.
It was not until the return of Tenebrae as the Supreme Prophet Merilen of the Sith Empire that the rebuilt Eternal Empire returned to the service of their master, bringing with them the Eternal Fleet and the Star Forge, incorporating themselves into the Sith Empire, with the Eternal Fleet serving directly under the control of Sith Emperor Merilen, who controls the fleet from aboard the Star Forge and uses the majority of its power as the Star Forges defensive fleet to ensure none can hope to challenge him.
While the Eternal Fleet and those brought with them praise Sith Emperor Merilen as Tenebrae returned, they are largely seen as fanatics by the rest of the Sith Empire for their beliefs. This has created friction between the Eternal Empire and the Sith Empire, as while both serve the Sith Emperor, they view one another as lesser, and squabbling is often seen between the two groups as who is superior, with Sith Lords from either faction battling against one another for power. Sith Emperor Merilen of course encourages this behavior, believing strongly that the strongest will rise, and the weak will fall.
