History
Mr. Sherman comes from the Capital Wasteland, and was present when The Lone Wanderer started being known. He hails from Little Lamplight, where he was made fun of for his overbearing kindness to everyone, even adults. When he turned sixteen, the kids were glad to send him on his way to Big Town, where he quickly found the place to be miserable. Taking up his trusty twelve gauge, he left Big Town only a week after arriving.
He knew that he needed someway of making a living for himself, not wanting to turn into some of the beggars who plead for Purified Water. But, he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do, as his 'upbringing' didn't really prepare him for any sort of job. While he was traveling through D.C (carefully, as to avoid the Super Mutants and other such mess), he would often find spare parts, other guns (left from battles or carelessness or whatever), and even, though rare, chems. During a brief stint in Megaton, some of the locals noticed Mr. Sherman lugging around a tool kit that he'd found and offered to pay for it to help with things around his home. Thus, Mr. Sherman realized that he might be able to survive by selling useful things to people.
That is how Mr. Sherman became a scavenger. During his times, he finds all sorts of things, from junky to glorious. He did some selling around Canterbury Commons, where he became known for his pleasant and friendly demeanor. It was here that he got the handle "Good Ol" Mr. Sherman, and became a person who people trusted to buy stuff from, as he was more reliable than some scavengers who tried to swindle you.
After a few years, Mr. Sherman left the Capital Wasteland, finally tiring of the Super Mutants and just the general atmosphere. He hopes to find better places to live in his travels. Whether he will or not...we shall see.
