History
Valerie's grandfather and her father were both overseers of Vault 35, which, happily, was decided to be a control vault by Vault-Tec, allowing the inhabitants to avoid any and all disastrous experiments. Valerie was born and raised in the Vault, receiving an education and living the good "American" life....in a vault. Most of the Vault's history has been that of peace with very little incident. The Dwellers refuse to step out into the wasteland of Montana (the location of Vault 35), afraid of whatever they might find out there and, for a long time, also refused to admit anyone into the Vault. Truthfully, there was really no reason to. There was clean water, food from the atom assembler food dispensers (see Sierra Madre Vending Machine) that were from before the war, and, most importantly, no radiation. It wasn't, much to her despair, until Valerie's term as Overseer that things began to go wrong.
The Water Chip of Vault 35 broke soon after her term began, causing fear and anxiety in the inhabitants (and especially her). With no one brave enough to go outside, all seemed lost. But, then, Miranda Quinn and Neil Parker stumbled upon the Vault. The two of them then offered to help the worried inhabitants and managed to recover a replacement chip for the Vault's water filter, saving the Vault. Soon after this some of the schematics for the technology in the vault was seized by the SteelPlate Society (My custom faction, see thread) for their own purposes. Despite this, the Vault continues to live peacefully, with Valerie still the Overseer. She now admits Miranda and Neil out of gratitude for their services.
