((RE-SUB)
Name: Shady
AKA: Asshole Shady, AKA: Shadow AKA: Crazy Shady (He never quite got that one)
Race: Human, Caucasian, small amount of African American
Gender: Male
Age: 44
Profession: Retired bandit, now just scavenges, treasure hunts and survives where he can. Usually the treasure hunting and surviving doesn't collide very well.
Theme: Heart Of Gold
Appearance: Shady's head started balding before the age of twenty-five, for unknown reasons, people think it might have been a few too many irradiated mole rat sandwiches, though if he were to have hair, it would be dark-brown almost black. The stress of Shady's life can be seen through the deep wrinkles around his eyes, and a lack around the edge of his mouth. He has a very muscular build, he tries his best to keep his body in as good condition as he can. The entire upper part of his left arm is scarred from extreme burns

His armor is unique, he made it from an assortment of different tough materials he found, one shoulder is a half a tire, while the other is the fender from an old motorcycle. The chest piece was taken from standard combat armor (minus the shoulders) and the boots he bought from a vendor in Columbus city. Faded red Shemagh, silver chained crucifix necklace, Military spec goggles, Broken portable radio, rucksack, Bandages, Old book: The Ruler of the Bands,
Personality: Shady was sometimes referred to as the big guy with the big heart. If he sees you as a good person he'll gladly jump in front of a bullet for you. However, he is very loyal to anyone he is travelling and will defend them first, always. Shady gets uncomfortable when someone asks him about his past and even more so if something gets dug up from it.
History: Shady's memory of his child hood is long forgotten, only remembering small bits of his mother, none of his father. One memory, however is very clear in his mind, etched into it, like someone meant for it to never be forgotten. The memory is flashes from a house from his childhood burning, he remembers the heat and the pain of the burning log that pinned him to the ground for some time, burning and scarring his left arm. His full memory starts in a town with a crucifix necklace when he was about ten years old, alone in the scum filled city of Columbus, long before the man named Mr. Fairfax took control of the city. He met another boy there, another orphan, his name was David. David and Shadow, the name that David gave the boy as he did not remember his own after the burning house. (The name would later shorten to Shady,) both of them helped eachother survive, David worked more as the brains, as he was just a toothpick of a thing, and Shady acted as the muscle, being naturally tough. They would steal from sales stands and sometimes sneak into raider camps if they were desperate. Later, when both of the boys turned to an older age, they grouped up with a group of bandits, thankfully due to Shady's large stature, it was an easy ticket in.
Shady was always one with a conscience, and would usually step in when one of the other bandits got a little rowdy or violent with a business owner they were shaking down, or a caravan they were sticking up. The other bandits disliked how Shady would do this and would give him the nickname: Asshole Shady. Shady never cared, none of them ever tried to slit his throat in his sleep, (though he was always cautious.) Shady and David spent years in this group of bandits, who later named themselves The Unbreakables. Members of this group came and gone but it only got larger. At one point, there was a specially crazy man that entered their ranks. He would always get things out of hand, trying to make his way with female caravaneers and the such, and Shady would always stop him from doing so. This man didn't take too kindly to Shady after doing this and when the large man was caught off guard, the psycho pulled a gun on him. Before he could react, David stepped between the two, by the time Shady drew his pistol, the savage man shot David, some of the bullets went right through him and into Shadow. He was able to gun the man down before collapsing himself.
David didn't survive that encounter and there was never enough time for a burial. Shady would never be the same after the death of his best friend. It wasn't long before more and more psychos like the last joined the group. Shady decided that he would do one last job before he left the Unbreakables for good, but plans change. On this job a few of the mercs got out of control and murdered two wastelanders, unfortunately Shady was not able to stop them in time. After the bandits searched the house the couple were in they found three young children hiding in the floor boards, instead of killing them, the bandits figured they could use them to their benefit. They sold the youngest into slavery, which Shady had highly objected to, but was ignored. While the other two the bandits decided to keep and raise them into their group, hoping they would be great additions to their force. Though Shady couldn't stop them from killing the children's parents, he wasn't gonna leave them in the hands of a bunch of heartless mercs. He stayed with the bandits, or rather, the children. He tried to raise them as good people, but it was hard, the younger one, Craig, was highly influenced by the Unbreakables, Shady feared he couldn't be untainted. The older brother however, listened to Shady, he knew just how bad these mercs were and wished only vengeance for his parents.
On their first job, Benjamin had told Shady of his plans on killing all of the mercs that killed his parents, so Shady, knowing that Ben couldn't do it alone, went along with the job too, so he may assist the child with his vengeance. But what came next, Shady didn't expect, as Ben began to open fire on the murderers, Craig shot his own brother dead, not shedding a single tear afterwards. Shady wanted to finish what Ben started, but knew he couldn't without having to kill Craig, and even if his heart was consumed by a cold blizzard, he still looked to him as a son. Shady left then, never went back with the mercs, he just shook his head to Craig and turned away before he started to walk away.
