Coruscant System, Perlemian Trade Route, aboard the Ghost of Solitude. . .
_______________________________
"With the removal and branding of the Jedi Order as traitors and terrorists, civilian riots have increased substantially, with many protestors claiming the Empire has returned. Despite the proof provided by Colonel Solo, many protestors seem to continue their accusations, and the GAG has been deployed to round up the most unruly rioters-" Tower flipped the switch on the holo-news, silencing the female reporter. He'd heard it all before, and he took a drink of his Ardees Tea, trying not to listen to his comrades political discussion. With the civil war, it was hard to hear anything but politics lately. The Mandalore had not summoned everyone to fight just yet, and most of the Mandalorian ships protecting Corellia were just mercenaries.
Angel was in a heated argument about whether the Ghost of Solitude should be in that lineup as well. Temperance refused to agree with her.
"How can it not feel wrong to you? After the Yuuzhan Vong, it finally felt like there was a purpose to our fighting. Something more then just creds and a reputation. Now we're just willing to slink back into the shadows?" Angel crossed her arms and leaned back, her feet propped up on the table. Her blonde hair fell in curves down to her shoulders, and Tower had to admit she was prettier then most Mandalorians. That had never been a strong teaching point for him as a youth though, as Mandalorians valued more useful skills.
Temperance shook her head, her black hair waving by her own shoulders. Her face was marred with several scars, and as she leaned forward on the table with her drink pushed aside untouched, she looked as dangerous as she truly was. Every one of those scars had a story, and he was sure there were a hundred like it below her armor if he were ever to see her without her second skin. "This doesn't concern us. The Vong bastards wanted to wipe out all of us, not just the other nations. If Mandalorians decided to start a war, no one would be able to stop us. Not even the Corellians or the Empire. We'd conquer the universe, but we don't need that. The Vong war showed us what we've really become. Guardians."
"Then shouldn't we keep the peace? If this Solo really is another Darth Vader or Palpatine. . . ."
"Then the Jedi will deal with it. The farther away from those force using bastards, the better if you ask me."
Tower coughed forcibly and crossed his arms, giving them both a stern look.
"What? What did.... Oh. You know I didn't mean anything by it. Shadow is more of a Mandalorian then he ever was a Jedi."
Tower grumped, then twirled his helmet around on the table. "Yes well, I'll agree as soon as he becomes a Mandalorian. Until then he's still a rogue Jedi, and a force using one at that."
Temperance looked slightly abashed, while Angel could only grin. Tower finished his tea, then grinned back. "If we do fight, all of us, then it'll be soon, and I expect we'll be fighting with the Jedi. This civil war is moving a lot faster then anyone could've expected. But it's plain the Galactic Alliance is making more mistakes then anything else. Perhaps you've forgotten there's a reason we're flying away from Coruscant, not towards it."
Temperance nodded, pushing around her untouched drink idly. If there was one thing they all did, it was trust the triumvirate of the Ghost Syndicate with their lives. As if the ship had read his mind, the speakers across the ship sounded alarm, and their team leader Emperor walked into the bar.
"Everyone suit up and get to the false hold by the docking airlock. Some Corvette pirate ship has mistaken us for a freighter, and we've 'surrendered' to them. We'll let them dock and then storm their ship before they can open their guns on us. Might make some good money if they've got a good haul, and we'll probably sell the ship to the Corellians to help the other mercs defend the planet. Let's make it clean people."
Tower nodded and slipped on his helmet, running with Angel and Temperance to the airlock. There was about to be a fight, and the adrenaline was already pumping.

Aboard the Grey Blaze, a lone Jedi sat in a darkened room. He was sat on his knees, with his feet tucked under his backside. His hands placed on his thighs and his torso upright and still. His low breathing wasn’t audible, so all he could hear was the sound of the engines. He listened to them as he meditated, a moment of peace before another raid. He then heard it, the slowing of the engines, brought the peace to an end. Several of the pirate crew rushed past quickly. Split into four teams of four, the pirate assault squads readied themselves throughout the ship. Jax counted them, as they past, two of those squads would be part of the assault team, the other eight would sabotage the ship, and then the raid would be completed.
With a sigh, Jax got to his feet, keeping his hands in front of him. He knew any act of defiance would result in a slave harmed. There were currently thirty aboard, down in one of the hidden holds by the engines. In times of a raid, there were fewer guards on the slaves, but then, none of them wanted to get caught in the crossfire, so they were behaved… Well sometimes. There would be two guards in the room.
The presence of the ship’s doctor and the captain were the strongest Jax felt across the whole ship. None of them were force sensitive, but over the years he had gotten to know them quite well. He knew where they were at any one time. The captain was currently on the bridge, calmly giving orders out to his crew, and the doctor was… right outside his door. The door opened and there he was, stood with a blade against his hips. Jax glanced at it for a moment. The doctor, a human like himself, was barely a doctor at all. Jax was sure he knew more about torture than healing. In fact, the doctor was barely a healer at all. “To the bridge with you, we require your services.”
Jax didn’t need to be told twice. He started moving, only giving the doctor a brief nod of the head. He then walked his way to the bridge, like he’d done hundreds of times over the past ten years.
Once he was up to the bridge, the captain gave him a nod towards the platform Jax used, and then when back to monitoring the situation. Jax silently moved over, and got back to the meditative position.
“I will be aiding the assault teams, correct?” Jax asked, but he only got a wave of affirmation from the captain.”
Down below in the armoury, the pirates picked up their guns and headed to the airlock. Though the freighter had surrendered, the pirates never took chances. A notification came across their radios, informing them of Jax’s actions and then they knew they were ready to go. As the ships docked, the pirates pulled out some stun grenades. “When these go off, get yourselves moving. Shoot to stun, if they get rowdy, blow them away,” said the assault leader, and the others nodded in understanding. The air lock doors opened and in went the grenades.

Valentin Serav: intelligence agent, saboteur, pirate, infiltrator extraordinaire, today a prison guard. He'd been 'lucky' enough to draw a shift guarding a group of thirty slaves towards the aft of the Grey Blaze, along with another pirate, during what was to be another raid. Just him, another pirate, and thirty potentially angry slaves. Not to mention the ridiculously large rotary blaster cannon in his hands, and the couple of flashbangs in a pocket, to dispose of the slaves if they decided to try anything. But those would be more useful in a different, if somewhat-related fashion, later.
Truthfully, Val hadn't gotten much of a leash since he'd negotiated his way into crewmanship aboard the Grey Blaze six months ago. No major assignments, no bridge duty; just guarding during down time and being first out of the airlock during the raids he participated in. He'd been , trying to gather information on any potential allies, any evidence pointing to any kind of crime ring, before either he sabotaged the ship or called in a Galactic Alliance cruiser to do some cleanup. This group of slaves complicated things somewhat, however: Val could have just killed life support in the middle of shipboard 'night', been off in an escape pod, and happily been on his way.
Collateral damage, he pondered as the general sounds of the pirates arming up reverberated through the ship, wasn't exactly something he sought out. Fortunately he'd gotten his handler - anonymous and code-named Rough to avoid potential information leaks; even if these were just pirates, that kind of information in the wrong hands could have disastrous effects - to agree on that point, at least.
He put such thoughts out of his head for the time being. It was raiding time; and, having come up with little in the way of pirate association and having a good grasp on their tactics, that meant it was about to be kill-everyone-still-aboard-and-flush-the-airlocks time. Not that Val's plan was any more advanced than "shoot guard, leave prisoners, storm bridge, kill pirates" at this point, but he was well aware that Rough was getting impatient. He knew there was also a Jedi aboard, another prisoner being used for his abilities or something. Val would have to be careful trying not to kill him when he stormed the bridge, now that he thought of it.
A little help from any of the prisoners would have been nice, too. But what spare weapons there would be--three blaster pistols and one carbine--weren't exactly going to keep a bunch of probably-untrained civilians from getting mown down. Not that Val was especially interested in getting shot in the back over a misunderstanding about what he was here for. No, it was definitely better to leave the prisoners here, reassure them of his intentions, and then go storm the bridge alone - surprise would help more than numbers. Nobody could get in his way that way.
He started sidling over to his companion. He'd have to do this without blasters and without screams to avoid the noise.
Val managed to look fairly restless and not at all intending to do violence, from the first step, to the aimed stumble, right up until he dropped the blaster cannon and buried a knife in the guard's throat as he caught himself.
Val retrieved his knife, grabbed the man's blaster carbine and pistol. He slung the carbine at his shoulder, sheathed the vibroknife at the small of his back, dropped the pistol and rotary cannon between himself and the prisoners. That'd probably be enough to stave off anyone who decided to come in. "I'm with Galactic Alliance Intelligence; you can trust me. Stay here until I come back. And kill any pirates who come in." And if nothing else, his cover was irreversibly blown now. He ran for the door, hearing some action spark up behind him - footsteps, speech. Hopefully they'd listen at least for a little bit, and hopefully there weren't any monitoring devices in the hold. He hadn't seen anything to indicate such was the case, but pirates could be as sneaky as spies when they wanted to.

It had been almost a week since Huggle illegally acquired his new ship, Supplies are beginning to run low given that the ship can only hold a week worth of rations.
"UMU, record, it is time at last for my final run...I hope, although it is perhaps possible that I will get sucked back into this business but I certainly hope not, but this will likely be one of the greatest runs I have ever had, transporting, the notorious narcotic: Glitterstim-"
Huggle, mind began to race, as he began rubbing his chin, and then continued to speak once more as he walked.
"unfortunately I am delivering to an equally notorious group of pirates, I sincerely hope I am not being set up for an ambush, though I feel it may be present in my future."
The tall Zabraki relaxed in his seat the K-wing's cockpit was split with Huggle sitting in one half and UMU in the other.
" The money I earn from this run should be enough to get me out of this system at the very least...End transmission UMU"
"Roger, Roger."
Huggle looked out the window at UMU in the other cockpit, and gave him a nod, and then began staring blankly, out of the window of the cockpit, the emptiness of space was no longer so empty and to figures lay in the distance, Huggle squinted his eyes and pointed out the glass.
"Are those the pirates we are delivering to?
"Roger, Roger."
As the ship slowly began to approach the vessel, Huggle noticed that there were indeed two ships within proximity of each other, Huggle decided it best to divert their course to a near bye asteroid, the droid UMU slowly landed onto the dark and dusty surface of the rock.
"just keep the ship down here UMY" Huggle said commandingly.
The ship was in view of the two ships, Huggle made sure that he had an eye on the vessels.

As the grenades went off, the airlock seemed clear, with not a single person or droid in the hallway beyond. Tower watched the pirates from a video feed in his HUD, and was pleased when the pirates did not advance as a group, but rather half of them came forward. When they'd reached the end of the hall, a signal to the second team came up, and Tower tensed.
Things happened quickly, and it wasn't the Syndicates first use of the trick. Once the second team of pirates had stepped through to the Ghost of Solitude's airlock, the doors on both sides had slammed shut, and neuro-gas had begun flooding the room. A few gulps of air, and the whole group would be out for awhile. As the doors to the airlock shut, fake portions of the hallway wall opened inward, with stun grenades rolling out under the first groups feet. As the grenades went off, eight Mandalorians in black Beskar armor and a black robed, hooded man sprung from three different sections of the wall, surrounding the dazed pirates. Without even a word of warning, the force ripped weapons free of the most coherent of the pirates while the Mandalorians fired darts from their neural inhibitors into the group, quickly sending the assault team into unconsciousness.
Emperors voice came over Towers comm-link, and he holstered his neural inhibitor. "Good work team. Now get through that airlock and secure the ship. Teams of three, you know the drill. The recon droids will catch up to you soon."
Tower opened up the airlock, smirking as he looked over the unconscious pirates. One of them had an explosive out, and looked like he'd been trying to arm it before he'd went cold. Behind them, a second team arrived, led by Angel, who began securing the downed pirates, with three recon droids zooming over their heads and into the ship as Tower, Shadow, and the hacker Livewire broke away from the others and down a hall towards the bridge, with one of the recon droids leading the way and checking for threats.

As the teams went down Jax’s face screwed up in confusion as he ‘lost’ contact with the pirates. “Something’s… Wrong…” he breathed, opening his eyes. “I’ve lost them… They aren’t dead but…”
The captain of the Grey Blaze smirked a little. “It would seem our victims are anything but. Charge the ships weapons and open fire on the enemy ship, break us free. Jedi, use your powers on our bridge personnel. If they want a fight, we’ll give them one.”
Jax nodded slowly in understanding. An alarm broke out across the ship, alerting Tower and the rest, just as Jax focused his meditation from the strike teams to the bridge personnel. Immediately blast doors began closing on the ship, turrets came out of their hiding places along the route to the bridge, opening fire on recon droid in front of Tower and the rest, blowing it to smithereens
The Grey Blaze’s turbo-lasers too turned on the enemy ship and let out a barrage on towards the enemy bridge. The airlock, which had been connected to the enemy vessel, was too shutting its blast doors, ready to abandon the pirates, and rip itself away.
The slaves watched as Val took out the only other guard that watched over them. For a moment they seemed mistrusting before three of the slaves, a male Twi’lek, an Ithorian, and a female Chiss got to their feet, and nodded. The Ithorian waited for a moment, before a muffled scream broke the restraints around it’s neck in a sudden movement. “It feels good to breathe…” it rasped in it’s own loanguage, before turning to the others and began freeing them too. “We… are not just going to sit here. If the pirate ship is under attack… we cannot remain here. Quickly locate the escape pods… Try and get to the nearest habitable planet and send a distress signal. I will cause as much damage to the ship as I can before I fall. Find your families.” The Ithorian moved out calmly. The Twi’lek and the Chiss looked at each other for a while, before quickly rushing off after the Ithorian.

Val hadn't gotten far before he noted a small squad of individuals boarding the ship - Mandalorians, if he remembered rightly. Well, that was a pleasant surprise. He ducked into an alcove, clicking his back teeth to activate the comlink implanted in his head. Blast comm silence; he had to know if Rough knew there were Mandalorians here.
The comlink buzzed to life uncomfortably against Val's jawbone. "Go, Barbarian," a smooth voice reverberated through his head.
"Rough, there's a squad of Mandalorians here. Just boarded the ship, look to be on their way to taking the bridge. Unsure if there are more of them. Please advise."
He checked his weapons as he awaited a response. Val was glad that he had: the carbine he'd taken off the first pirate he'd killed back in the prison hold had been set to stun. That wasn't exactly what he would have wanted to fight a fully-armored squad of Mandos, not that a carbine set to kill would do much better. "Try and work with them, if they'll let you," the reply came down. "If not, don't let them kill you."
Hm. How helpful. Val took a breath before he turned the corner, approaching the Mandalorians with his carbine in a rest position: ready, but lowered. If they started shooting, he wanted to be ready, but there was no sense in being threatening when heavily outnumbered and outgunned.
"Hey!" he called as he jogged closer, fluidly doing his best at dropping the accent and stiff-shouldered stance of a military man - Val was just an escaped slave now, here to get revenge. "You guys are here to take the ship, right? Want a hand?"

Captain Corun Dernsorl stood at the bridge, hands clasped behind his back as he stared at the stars.
The young man was dressed as a Captain in the Imperial Navy, currently wearing an Olive drab officers uniform, standard issue for Imperial Officers. He look tired, but alert, expecting trouble at any moment. The young man looked too young to be a captain, until you looked closely into his eyes which showed the cool calculations of an Imperial officer many years his senior. Corun's eyes closed for a minute, thinking over the damage his ship had taken.
The Agitator. An Imperial Star Destroyer, a source of pride for whoever commanded it. Corun had taken command after the last Captain suffered a tragic death in a trash compactor after a disastrous battle. Their already slim resources were even slimmer, to the point where, although he had a full crew, he only had around five hundred soldiers that could be used in ground operations, or to prevent boarding. Enough to deal with some petty pirates perhaps, but if any -actual- enemies got past their lethal quad turbo lasers and concussion missiles-
Stop that. He snapped at himself mentally. The men will see your worry on your face, you cannot allow that to happen. You may only have a couple hundred troopers, but you forget that 80 of them are Stormtroopers. You also forget that you have two AT-AT's, and a few AT-ST's. You have enough power to obliterate a colony. Be grateful for what you have, and make up for what you lack with your crew's skill.
Coruns musings and star gazing were interrupted by some of the bridge crew shouting, "Captain! Two ships spotted!"
Corun whirled around to glance at the man, polished boots clicking on the floor.
"Elaborate. What sort of ships, and what do they appear to be doing that's causing alarm? You seem to forget we're on a trade route, they could be merely going along."
"Sir! One's a Corellian Corvette, the other's a Freighter. They appear to be locked together. Could be some sort of deal going on between traders and some of those Confederate dogs."
The Captains lips pursed together, and he stared out the viewport again. Ah yes...there they are...
"Hail the two vess- No. Belay that order!" He then spoke to the rest of the crew, voice going throughout the whole ship due to intercoms-
"All hands, prepare for combat. Lieutenant Paxter, prepare your platoon of stormtrooper to recieve our new guests. Tractor Beam, fix on the corvette and fire on my command-"
A few seconds ticked by, sweat beginning to form on his brow as he stared at the two ships.
"Tractor beam- Fire!" The green beams of energy shot out, attempting to snag the corvette and freighter. If successfull, the two ships would begin to be pulled up towards the bays of the Star Destroyer, where a team of soldiers would board them. Sneaky Imps are Sneaky.

It's hard to keep track of time in space, minutes could have gone by...hell it could have been days, watching a two ships at idle is is like watch paint dry...
Huggle began to grow impatient, he was unwilling to the two ships, seeing has he had no idea who was docking the pirates, huggles head began to fall, he caught himself before he sunk any further into his chair, as more time passed he began fogging up the window of the cockpit with his breath and then writing obscenities on the glass.
If boredom had a sound it was Tap, Tap, Tap the very same noise being created by huggles finger on the arm rest of his seat, huggle sighed and began to speak "uh this is insufferable, UMU has anything occurred between the ships?"
"Danger, Danger" UMU began shaking his head frantically as the words spilled out of his voice modulator.
"What is it? What has gotten you so riled"
The robot began wildly waving his hands in the crampt cockpit it clutched its head and then began pointing out the window at the imperial ship. "Danger, Danger"
Huggle gave the automaton a queer look "what has gotten into you mechanical man? Huggle squinted his eyes, peering out the window when he spotted the star destroyer, his mouth opened whide, he was momentarily left speechless other than a less than audible gasp.
Huggle broke the silence with gaping eyes, as he spoke "As I live and breath!" He turned towards the pilot droid, and spoke "UMU, while you were busy dancing in your cockpit an imperial start destroyed came into view! prepare the ship for an emergency take off, quickly UMU!"
The droid slammed it's head against the glass, and then began turning the ships engines on "Roger, Roger"
Huggle gained a vigilant look, his gaze would not leave the ship UMU, on my mark, get us away from this forsaken rock..."

A Mandalorian in jet black armor sat idly in the Captains chair on the bridge of the Ghost of Solitude, watching several monitors displaying the events unfolding on the monitor. Weapons fire from the pirate vessel rocked the ship before glancing off the deflector shield that surrounded the false freighter. As it began to move, the Mandalorian have a signal, and the airlock detached, separating the two vessels.
"Another vessel just jumped in. Looks to be Imperial...."
The helmeted Mandalorian nodded, waving a hand as one of the pilots fingers zoomed across a console. "It's Imperial all right. Captained by... a Corun Dernsorl, according to records. We've just been hit by a tractor beam. No attempt to hail us yet."
The Mandalorian nodded once more, pressing a few buttons on the Captains Chair, hailing the Imperial ship. The Mandalorian did not rise from the chair, putting one leg over the arm rest in a relaxed manner as the holo projection was sent across, with an accompanied filtered voice.
"Captain Corun Dernsorl, this is the mercenary vessel Ghost of Solitude, under contract of the Galactic Alliance Guard. We are currently engaged in a capture scenario with the pirate vessel Gray Blaze. I will.... Overlook your misuse of Galactic Law in this sector under your agreement to assist in transportation and imprisonment of the pirate vessel and it's subdued occupants once we've finished detaining all pirates on board. To avoid further incident, you have my permission to dock my vessel with your ship. I expect your full hospitality. And by the way, there's a small ship hiding in the asteroids that jumped in at the beginning of our engagement. You may want to ready another tractor beam. Ghost of Solitude out." With the press of a button, the Mandalorian severed the transmission, and leaned back in the chair with hands slipped behind the head, with a steady eye on the ships monitors.
-----------------------------------------------------
"Seems smaller then I expected," Liverwire mentioned, as Tower checked the hallway ahead.
"Probably has thick armor. Bet a couple of these walls have hollows in them for smuggling." Tower moved down the hallway, motioning Livewire to do the same. Shadow was doing what his name implied, keeping a guard on their rear while they moved through the ship. The turrets that had open fired had went down quickly, losing their surprise on the drone. Shadow had made short work of it with some force technique that Tower wished he could see.
The blast door ahead had a console nearby, but it would take Livewire time to hack it, and Tower didn't much feel like setting off explosives if they didn't need to.
"Hey! You guys are here to take the ship right? Want a hand?"
Tower spun on a dime and had to catch himself from open firing on the man, when he saw that Shadow had slunk up behind the stranger and had his lightsaber at the ready. With a frown, he waved his hand, and Shadow walked past the stranger before heading down another path to check for threats.
Tower refrained from lowering his gun, unsure of the mans disposition. "Maybe. Not sure I'd want you running around behind me with that blaster though. So much for loyalty to your captain. You get this blast door open without us having to waste time, we might not relieve you of more then just your weapon."

The Captain of the Grey Blaze was unaware of Val’s betrayal. Let alone his true role on the ship. The captain was too busy focusing on the defence of the ship against the Mandos to know what had happened in the slave pens. As for the escaped slaves, namely the Ithorian, Twi’lek and Chiss, they too were practically invisible. As the captain got to his feet, he looked over at Jax and calmly sighed. “You have proven yourself over the years, do not fail me now Jedi.”
“Captain, another ship has entered the system. It’s… an Imperial Star Destroyer.” Said the pirate at the communications console.
“What?!” the Captain said. “Mandalorians AND the Imperials?!” his voice showed his irritation. “Hail the Imperials, we have a few people in the slaves they might be interested in… Perhaps we can offer them for assistance.” The captain continued, just as the tractor beam hit the ship. The captain sighed, he knew now there was no negotiating. “Arm yourselves. We’ll fight our way to the escape pods; we’ll blow the ship and ride them off in the shockwave. Get ready to blow the engines.” The pirates ran to the lockers nearby and began pulling their armour on and equipping themselves with anything they could find. By now all the blast doors around the cockpit were closed firmly.
Little did the captain know the two escape slaves had broken into the store room and had freed the rest of the slaves. Once the slaves were freed, they were let into the stores and told to grab anything they could. Some took food, some took valuables. Once they had as much as they could carry, they were led to the escape pods, through the access tunnels that ran parallel to the main corridor. As luck would have it, the Pirate captain had ordered the escape pods readied, and thus, the slaves found the pods unlocked. Once they were inside, the doors were shut. In total, the slaves took five of the eight escape pods, and waited to be jettisoned. The Chiss female and the Twi’Lek male had agreed to rescue the Ithorian together, and take one of the escape pods for themselves, so once the other slaves were secure they began crawling back through the access tunnels.
The Ithorian had been busy, very busy. He was stood amongst the bloodied corpses of the pirates in the engine room; several of the wall panels had been crushed inwards and torn in places. The Ithorian was tapping at the controls. One by one the security systems fell until the self-destruct mechanism was engaged. Having already hacked into the communications array, the Ithorian opened the communications channel and started to talk. “This is the Bounty Hunter known as The Gardener, aboard the Corellian Corvette known as the Grey Blaze. To the freighter currently docked with this pirate vessel, I warn you to recall your troops. I have rigged the engines to blow and I intend on destroying these pirates and their vessel. Do not attempt to stop me. You have less than five minutes to recall your troops. To the Imperial Star Destroyer, I advise you disengage your tractor beam immediately to save the risk of damaging your vessel. I apologise for the inconvenience.” With that the Ithorian closed the channel.
Meanwhile in the bridge, the captain snapped at his fellow pirates in anger. He’d heard the Ithorian’s warning and had just lost it. The Ithorian had done exactly what the captain had planned to do, before they had even had a chance to initiate it. Jax smirked to himself before looking over at the door to the escape hatches. He looked around calmly, knowing that every pirate’s attention was elsewhere. No one noticed as Jax stopped meditating and subtly open the hatch with the force. Ever so quietly it opened, and then finally came to lie against the wall. He breathed a sigh as none of the pirates noticed. Patiently, he looked up at the lights, and breathed out. He only had one shot. He aimed at the lights with his hands with the force. He knew he’d have all of ten seconds to get into the hatch, before the emergency lights came on. Once the emergency lights were on, the pirates would begin to fire. Jax sighed ever so slightly, and force pushed up at the lights above him as strongly as he could. The lights exploded in sparks and drew temporary darkness over the cockpit. Sure enough, ten seconds later, the emergency lights were on and Jax was gone.

Val smiled tensely as the leader waved off one of his lackeys. Addressing the Mandalorians hadn't gone quite as planned--he certainly hadn't been shot--but neither had he imagined they would assume he was a pirate in the process of betraying his crew, logical answer though that might have been. He gave a nod as the leader suggested he open up the blast door, slinging his weapon and moving towards the console quickly. "I'm one of the hostages they'd locked in an aft cargo bay, actually," he corrected a few seconds later as he started tapping keys on the console. He was locked out; that was a bad sign.
But, he'd been around long enough to have learned the override code. Long though it was, he'd more or less been ordered to commit it to memory. "Just ended my tenure with GA Intelligence. I was on my way home to my wife when, well..." Val trailed off nervously as he entered the code, gesturing around with one hand. Hopefully that would be enough explanation for the Mandalorians. It was difficult enough for him to construct backgrounds and personalities and lie like that; it was even harder to do it convincingly, and the less he said, the better.
He continued pressing keys just long enough to make it look more like he was trying to hack the console than spitting out an at-this-point-memorized code. "You're right about one thing, though, Mandalorian. I don't feel very close to this particular captain." Another second and he had the blast door opening, slow though it was. "But as for you worrying about me - I'm not even sure if this thing--" Val gestured to the carbine on his back, "--has enough power to punch through that armor of yours." Unsure as he was of the Mandos' intentions, he kept his hand a good distance away from the carbine. It sounded like they had wanted him to drop his weapons; but he was loath to just up and do so in a combat zone without being told to.
Besides which, then Val risked looking stupid in front of hardened soldier mercenary types. And that just wasn't allowed.

Coruns cool, calm, exterior cracked for a moment, revealing his anger. He growled, his fingers curling into a fist.
And then he heard Gardener's voice, and tilted his head back and laughed.
"Disable the Tractor beams on the two ships, now! Focus it on the small one trying to leave the Asteroid."
"Sir! The Corvette has launched escape pods!"
Corun could not physically see the small escape pods and the puffs of energy from their release from the Corvette, bu he could certainly imagine it.
"Take them as well, and keep monitoring for any other Escape Pods. I don't want anyone leaving this that's not on that Freighter."
Captain Dernsorls cool had returned at this point, and he took deep breaths to steady himself. Things would be alright, yes, yes they would.
Those were his thoughts as the tractorbeams on the Corvette and Freighter ceased, and then focused on the escape pods and (butters) small ship.

"Mark!" Huggle yelled UMU jumped into action replying:
"Roger, Roger" The droid, flipped some switches and the ship began to ascend from he asteroid, Huggle stared at the gauges in his cockpit, and bit his lip at the sight of the fuel gauge, in an instant the ship lurched to a halt panic could be seen on Huggle's face as he began sweating profusely he looked over to UMU's cockpit, not even needing to say a word before UMU shouted "Danger, Danger!"
Huggle gazed into - not so - empty space, the two ships previously in the grips of the star destroyer were now no longer slowly ascending towards it, Huggle was now in the place of the bounty hunters and the pilots being slowly lifted towards the ship, his K-wing was incapable of escaping the clutches of the imperial flag ship.
Huggle slowly awaited his fate as he continued sailing towards the star destroyer, as he thought back to the glitterstim stored in his cargo bay.

Tower watched the armed pirate carefully as Livewire sat watching the other path for enemies in a slouched position. Tower could only assume the Mandalorian was annoyed that someone else was doing his job for him. As the pirate began his explanation of being a 'hostage,' Shadow returned from the other path and watched the man carefully. Tower didn't buy much of what the man was selling, and a silent shake of the head from Shadow when the 'hostage' finished his explanation.
"Well, I didn't buy any of that, so you'll have to try harder."
Livewire tapped him on the shoulder, and Tower looked over, keeping his gun trained on the 'hostage.' "What?"
"He's got some kind of tech on him. Comm system of some kind. Military grade by my guess."
"Well, well." Tower flicked his wrist and gun in a motion at the open doors that led to the escape pods, making a tsk-ing noise. "Better come up with a better story by the time we leave this ship. For now, you can go first."
As they moved towards the escape pods, a transmission came over the radio from Magician's Team. "Tower and Temperance, this is Magician. Multiple escape pods are missing, possible pirates might be gone.
Temperance a voice also then came over his headset. "Negative that Magician, there was a large group of hostages being held. We have a console up, got life signs in the bridge and engine room. Escape pods must've been the hostages. We're moving to the engine room now."
"Copy that. We'll be assaulting the bridge in a moment from a service tunnel."
A tap on towers shoulder again, this time from Shadow, had him turning to see the sign for Force User and Bridge and in a quick motion, and Tower nodded in understanding, pressing a hand to his helmet to activate his own mike. "This is Tower squad, approaching the escape pods now, have a man here claiming to be a hostage. We'll keep an eye on the escape pods make sure no one else escapes. Watch yourself on the bridge Magician, you've got a force user in there."
"Copy that Tower. Thanks for the warning."
Tower felt a sneaking suspicion that Magician already knew, but silence from Temperance had him worried. As Temperances squad entered the room, they were just in time to catch the Ithorian and his friends setting the ship to explode. Emperors voice came booming over all their headsets and alarms went up across the corvette.
"You all get to the escape pods now! That ships going to blow and we've got a mother-fuckin imperial star destroyer on our ass! Forget about the pirates, just get out of there now."
Temperance stepped out into the open where the Ithorian could see her, and shook her head, keeping her gun down. "Dammit, did you have to set the thing to self-destruct? We could've made a lot of this pull. So you're the Gardener huh? Well come on, we've got the escape pods secured. Our ships already detached." Temperance waved at one of her squad in frustration when the Mandalorian didn't lower his weapon, but then waved them all to follow her as she began sprinting to the escape pods, hating how quickly this mission had went south. She was definitely going to give the Gardener a talking to if they survived this mess.
Meanwhile, Magicians squad had moved up the shaft and was preparing to assault the bridge when the message came over comms, and the black cloaked Mandalorian punched the wall and pulled out his lightsaber before turning to his squad. "Dammit, fall back. So much for getting a full works pay for this mess."
As the force user came into the shaft, Magician nearly sliced him in half spinning around with his lightsaber, cursing to himself that he hadn't kept up his force stealth for this mission. Since no other pirates seemed to be with him, the Mandalorian sheathed his lightsaber and turned to his squadmates. "It's the force user. We're leaving Jedi, and I suggest you come with us if you want to make it out of here alive....
Back at the escape pods, Tower was throwing out a slew of curses, ordering Livewire to guard the hallway to the bridge while beginning to explain things to his 'prisoner.' "Goddamn Ithorian blowing up the Goddamn.... And Imperials... the fuck is...son of a bitch. We're leaving in an escape pod, soon as our squads get here. Better come up with a better story before we launch friend, or I might feed you to the Imperials when they pick us up..."
