Bonnie was born in the well protected Vault 35 to two parents settling down after leaving their ranch in Wyoming to find a better life. His father was a security guard while his mom was the school teacher for the children living in the vault. As a young child he easily made friends in his youth with another resident by the name of Daniel Clyde.
Together as they grew older they began pestering the other residents like pulling pranks on the Overseer or hiding the mechanic's tools giving them a reputation as the outlaws of Vault 35. Sometimes they would even rob the cooks of a slice of bread in a stickup. Despite their naughty behavior people found pleasure in calling the roving outlaws Bonnie and Clyde.
However, as they matured and became of age to start contributing to the vault their motives and days of fun were over. Bonnie started working with Vault Security, recording all who entered and their motives, while Clyde landed himself a job in the maintenance department keeping the reactor working and fixing anything that broke down. Although everything was about to change.
While Clyde was doing a scheduled repair on the reactor an accidental reactor leak was sprung causing the large automatic doors to lock down the radioactive area trapping him inside the reactor level. Quickly he shut down the override control to the reactor but it was only enough to save his life. For weeks Bonnie watched his life long best friend suffer from severe radiation poisoning until finally Clyde had reached the point of becoming a ghoul.
In the night Clyde slipped out under the noses of the vault dwellers, heading out into the wastes ashamed of his new being leaving Bonnie behind to live in the peaceful vault. Despite his attempt he failed. Once bonnie noticed Clyde's disappearance he also left to track down his friend. They have been selling themselves off as mercs ever since.
