The Bloody Sands of Hawaii. The Hawaiin Islands. Tropical Paradise. The Aloha State. Jewel of the Pacific. The people of Hawaii would like to welcome you to their wonderous home. Home to many endemic creatures including: the amasing Long Bugs, the delicious Ilio and the ferocious Honu. But don't worry! The Natives of Hawaii are the most welcoming bunch you could imagine! Whether it's the comfort of the Hula Girls or the warmth of the The Island Sons, who only want you over for dinner! You'll love it here. You'll never want to leave. History:Geography:Fauna:Factions:Faction Interactions:Recent History:TWR: NCN Tandi's Relaunch! The New Californian Navy has done it again! After patching up the NCN Tandi and bringing her back to Port Diego, engineers and scientists of the NCR and the Followers have managed to fix her up better than she was before! Several additions have been added to support her on the open seas and a new highly trained staff have been set aboard. Her new journey? Well the NCR are being a bit quiet about that, but official reports are she's going on an exploratory expedition into what used to be the Pacific Ocean. Recent claims of an increased military presence aboard the vessel have been brushed aside as merely security measures while she was docked. Michael's Entry #1: [Music can be heard in the background, the words are faded but the beat is bluesy.]
Hey Lacey! It's Michael. Well, I should say Private Michael Hargreeves! I've ben told by the guys that this is a good idea, talking to you. . . Well, this speaker. . . It's supposed to make missing you a lot less painful. Plus it helps that when we get back to Diego they'll send you all this and you can see I've been fine!
I can't believe it, Lacey, I'm on a boat! Sorry, a ship. The relaunch of the NCN Tandi and I'm part of it! The boys say we're only here to make sure what happened last time won't happen again, we're here to shoot anything that tries to come aboard. We're only expecting Mirelurks, but we've got a couple of Howitzers on board just in case. Oh and the Glasses have managed to get a couple of the Anti-Aircraft guns and other weapons pieces up and running. But they don't expect to have to use them.
Hey, I'm gonna have to go Lacey. Love you!
Michael's Entry #2:
Hi again Lacey, guess who.

Interesting. I like the ironic tone in the inroduction, the "Hula Girls" and The Island Sons, who I assume are prostitutes (slavery) and cannibals respectively. Also, the fact that the NCN Tandi is gearing up for war is rather ominous.
Speaking of which, I'm interested in this boat. How big is it? Battleship/Rivet City big? Or just big enough to get folks across the ocean? And is it only going to be mentioned for this recent history section or will the natives somehow capture it and make it part of their faction armaments? That would make Hawaii a actual player, instead of isolated islands out in the Pacific.

Well the Hula Girls wouldn't call themselves prostitutes... They're more an Amazonian style tribal group that steal men or take them in trade negotiations, use them and send them back with any boys they birth. Or don't send them back, leave them in the jungle (if they only produce boys) or trade them with the Island Sons. So yeah. Not exactly prostitution But this business makes them the most powerful of the groups, simply because Humans and Humans you can mate with are the most valuable resource on these islands and the Hula Girls have that. But their monopoly is maintained by keeping all the girls and raiding other factions and killing their naturally born women. As for NCN Tandi, it's a Rivet City-esque carrier and it's very very valuable. It's one of the only ships the NCN has running and to the Military Remnant factions (of which there will be two on Hawaii, Chinese and American) it's the most important discovery since the world ended. It's a way off this Paradise of Hell. A way back to China/America. It's just the NCR rather wants to keep it themselves and on top of that, the tribals want to eat/keep people on the islands. So yeah. I dunno what'll happen to it yet

When it said "comfort of the Hula Girls", I just sort of assumed we were talking about prostitution. I see, even the "comfort" is ironic because any man that comes across them isn't going to like it very much, at least not for long. But was I on the money with the Island Sons? Do the Hula Girls trade men to them that the Sons later kill and eat?
As for the NCN Tandi, I think it's a interesting idea to have them develop a navy - another small step for the fledgling nation to make to recover itself to pre-war levels of security/normalcy. But this is still Post Apocalyptia - they can't have the proper means to repair many of them and there isn't a threat of a opposing fleet harassing them so there isn't much incentive. Does the navy have much funding at all? Are there exploratory expeditions charted to "rediscover" the world?
As for the faction groups, I like the idea of there being not only American remnants, but Chinese ones as well. Having invaded during the Great War and then stranded there once everything went up in flames. Do they still exist in a state of continuous warfare? What parts of the islands belong to which group? Did only the Chinese invade or did any of their allies join in the assault? I just had a interesting idea of having a Japanese faction in Pearl Harbor, assuming they were allied or even annexed into China.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing the rest of the guide.

Aye you were bang on with the Island Sons and yes the Hula Girls do, when they're not fighting each other over petty squabbles/men/women. The Island Sons also ride giant sea turtles but uh... That's another discussion ^^ The NCN is quite literally just the NCN Tandi. It was a joint effort by the Followers an the NCR (backed by some BoS know-how) to repair this derelict mini-carrier that was left in San Diego Harbour. It wouldn't have been that big a job, just ensuring it was sea worthy and getting the power back up and running. But it's supposed to be an expeditionary vessel, discovering the state of the West Coast and then eventually maybe the world. It's a "look we have a navy and a ship! We're good for you!" gesture. Unfortunately the NCRs prize showboat isn't prepared for what actually inhabits the oceans now. It's already been crashed once because of 'the Sea' with very few survivors on board, on its maiden voyage up to Alaska. Overall it's a sign that the NCR are trying to fill bigger pre-war boots than they currently can and what's going to happen to the NCN Tandi /again/ will probably have the NCN closed down for good As for the Military Remnants, currently debating wether the American Remnants should be on the most easterly of the islands (big ol Hawaii) which was the first idea, or in the smouldering remains of Pearl Harbour/one of the many barracks/airfields on Oahu (mostly in Honolulu county). But the Chinese Remnants are probably gonna be pretty solid over on the western most island, because they weren't an invading force. They were a couple of Chinese ships, probably nuclear bomber carriers, that found themselves smacked against the shores of Hawaii when the war hit home, enemy and them. They're stranded and most just want to go home, but the American Remnant would prefer to kick the 'commie scum' off their islands instead of helping them leave. So they're in an eternal state of warfare. The only thing that's stopped one side from completely destroying the other is the fact that they're both roughly the same size and don't have enough soldiers to overwhelm each other. Oh and that crossing the islands is quite hard. Nasty sea critters. And Island Sons on Turtleback. < Ghosts idea

Okay, glad to see I was right. And it seems like the Hula Girls aren't going to be big players on the island - at least tradewise, and will be more focused on their internal squabbles. And since you mentioned it twice, I'll address the sea turtle thing - are they going to be mutated? Because if they are not mutated, then they might make easy prey for any Mirelurks. But if they are mutated, it would give the Island Sons a advantage combatwise - at least for anyone foolish enough to get too close to the shore.
Speaking of the Sea, you mentioned that NCN Tandi has already crashed once because of the dangers of the Sea. What, exactly, are those dangers? We all know about the Mirelurks, but since you're adding Sea Turtles will there be other mutated sea life in the ocean that can be harmful to a big ship like Tandi?
Lastly, about the Remnants, the idea that a couple of Chinese nuclear submarines crash landing on Hawaii is a very interesting idea, though they would have less numbers than if they were an actual invading force. However, and this may be key, are the bombs still on the carriers? As in, did the ship have some technical failure and that's why they crashed, but does one of them still have nukes on them, able to launch the moment it's repaired? That would be a thing of vast interest to both the American remnant in Hawaii and the NCR.
As for what the American remnant is, I think it would be nice to cover another branch of the military. Not army, like the Enclave or the National Guards, like the Guards in our LI rp, but maybe a different branch like the airforce or the navy. If you pick navy, Pearl Harbor would be a excellent choice since it's one of the most famous navy bases, and might as well be kept under control of American navy remnants after the war, if you won't have something zany like Japanese controlling it. Also, with the NCR making it's first navy, it would be nice for them to bump up against the remnants of the pre-war navy and see the two groups' interactions, especially if they have the Island Sons as a threat with their Sea Turtles.
This rp is setting up to be very ocean centric, which makes sense for Hawaii.
