Reminder Poster for the Purge
Alright, so here's the RP based of the movie "The Purge". Here's a website for the movie that has all the information I'm getting. Use it if it will help you.
www.newfoundersamerica.org/
Let me tell you more about the "New America" that this RP will take place in.
The NFA (New Founders of America) has become the dominant political party of the United States, and, presumably, controls the government, and the President might be from their party as well.
The current year in the RP will be 2022. Though the NFA didn't take control of the Government until 2019, the Purge was created by their influence in 2017, with the passing of the 28th Amendment (which I will show you later). In 2018, the Blue Baptisia was declared the "National Flower of the Purge" and people are encouraged to wear or display one on their person during the Purge (trivial, but worth mentioning). In 2021, the American Historical Act was passed, legally mandating that children receive an education on the Purge and the "Pre-Purge" woes of the world that make the Purge valid. Essentially, it's Pro-Purge Propoganda in the form of innocent education.
Here is the 28th Amendment:
28TH AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION
SECTION 1:
The Annual Purge shall begin each year on March 22nd (the website will say June 7th, cause that's when the movie is scheduled to be released) at sunset, officially starting at 7PM, and ending at sunrise, March 23rd, at 7AM.
SECTION 2:
During the time of The Purge, any and all crime, up to and including murder, will be legal for 12 continuous hours. Police, fire and hospital aid will be unavailable until The Purge concludes.
SECTION 3:
The following weapons cannot be used during The Purge: weapons of mass destruction, fragment-producing explosives higher than a hazard class HC/D 1.4 and viral contagion projectiles.
SECTION 4:
Government officials of ranking 5 and higher have been granted immunity from The Purge and shall not be harmed. (I have no idea what this means, so to be safe, you can't play as someone from the Government).
SECTION 5:
Non-compliance with any of the aforementioned rules will result in death by hanging.
Now, where is this RP gonna take place? New York City. (What better place to go crazy than the Rad...I mean the Big Apple!)
Here's the actual story of the RP. I have a faction, led by my character. This group, during the Purge, hunts people that they have selected to kill. This is sort of like that story "The Most Dangerous Game". The people that this faction hunts have been arbitrarily chosen (i.e stabbing their finger on a random page of the New York City phone book), so there's no personal agenda against their victims. You all will be the victims that have been picked to be hunted. You goal is to survive the 12-hours. And you won't just have my faction to contend with. There will be thugs, gangsters, pissed off road ragers, postal mail men, etc. You will be traveling through hell, my friends.
So...who has the guts to survive The Purge? Will you work together? Or will you try to kill one another?
The character template is the same as it was in the Zombie RP. I'll talk a bit more about my character's gang after I introduce her. And no, you can't make a character that's in the gang.
And introducing, my character that I'm recycling to use here cause she's my favorite psychopath: Mandy Stark. ladies and gentlemen!
Name - Mandy Stark
Age- 26
Gender - Female
Attire - Mandy and her gang wear black Riot S.W.A.T Body Armor. Mandy has a Blue Baptisia flower in her hair.
Training - Mandy, as an avid "Purger", has knowledge of many guns. Five years of participating in the Purge, Mandy has gained a lot of experience with tracking, fighting, and shooting her targets.
Weaponry - Mandy's primary weapon is a G36C Assault Rifle. Her second weapon is a Glock Pistol on one side of her hip, and a large hunting dagger on the other.
Other Equipment - Each member of her gang has a walkie talkie and headset to avoid people overhearing their conversations. They also have pocket flashlights (for hunting in the dark).
Personality - Mandy's mindset is similar to that of General Zaroff, from the Most Dangerous Game. Her favorite activity during the Purge is hunting people that her team has randomly picked. She is calm under fire, cunning, and a fair shot, as well as being mostly indifferent to the fate of both or her victims and teammates. However, Mandy is not sadistic (a stark [HA!] difference from her other incarnations). She views the whole affair as something like a game, and therefore, does not care for "outside interference" (i.e, someone else trying to kill her team's targets) and will actually defend her own victims. After defending them, she will often give them a headstart to restart the hunt.
Interestingly, Mandy outside of the Purge appears as a rather normal person. She works as an Overnight Manager at a grocery store, and is rather pleasant, being kind and helpful to customers, and liked by her fellow employees
History -
Mandy grew up in New York, and has lived their her whole life. Her childhood was nothing really spectacular. She was an average student, had her own friends growing up, and when she turned sixteen, she started working at a grocery store as a stocker. When she was seventeen, she was placed on the Overnight team. When she was twenty one, the year the Purge was put into place, she was made the manager of the Overnight team, the previous one being fired for disregarding direction from the Store Manager.
When the Purge was started by the NFA, Mandy's family took action, not wanting to be a "up a creek without a paddle" when the first annual Purge began. Her father signed his family up for gun and weapon training, and purchased rifles for his daughter and his wife. They trained for months, and by the time March 22nd rolled around, they were decent with their weapons.
The first Purge Mandy went through was not that exciting. She and her family stayed in their house to avoid being attacked by the chaos around them. But, in vain, of course, as a group of people broke into their house to loot and kill. Mandy and her family managed to kill every intruder that came into their home, and when 7AM came, there were 19 dead people on the Stark family's porch. These were deposited to the designated deposit zones, and the bodies were used for medical science.
Exhilarated by the sense of adventure the Purge brought, Mandy made some calls to her friends. Some of them had been killed during the Purge, but the rest had survived, and many of them had had quite a time. She got them together and discussed making a team with them to go out on next year's Purge. They all agreed.
Mandy moved into New York City, the following year, being transferred into a store into the city. She and her friends pooled their resourced together to prepare for the next Purge. Body armor was purchased, weapons too, and one of them even chipped in with a fancy walkie talkie system for them to stay connected during the affair.
There was a discussion as how to pick the people they were going to hunt, as they didn't know how to choose. The group eventually settled on using a phone book, and flipping through the pages rapidly, and then point at a name on the list without looking. This continues to be the method of selection. When the list of people is made, the team searches for leads on the person, where they live, who they are, what kind of car they drive...
Mandy and her team have been responsible for the murder of over fifty people.
Here are some of rules Mandy and her team follows:
1. The people they hunt have to live in New York.
2. The people they hunt have to be over the age of eighteen and under the age of 45.
3. The people they hunt must not have any disabilities.
4. Anyone on the list who manages to survive, gets an invitation to join the team. If they decline, they stay on the list throughout the Purges until they are killed. (This means you can have a character who has been hunted by Mandy and the group previously).
5. Friendly fire is strictly forbidden.
6. No member is responsible for the safety of another member.
7. If the "prey" the team is hunting is killed by an outsider of the group, that person becomes the "fill in" and must be killed. Members of the team will protect their "prey" from "outside interference" and will grant a 15 minute headstart to their "prey".
8. Each member is responsible for bringing their own supplies.
9. No member can "drop out" of the team's mission during the Purge.
10. All members of the team must stop any attempts to kill the "prey" at 7AM. All members must have a watch that will chime at that time.
There are 20 people in Mandy's group. All of them are in their twenties. Here are some of them.
Megan Porter - A nerd girl with an Uzi and a tazer. She is a good shot, but physically weak. She has night vision goggles too (the only one in the team with this). She is smart, friendly, and socially awkward.
Randall Stevens - A very big guy with a 12-Guage and a crowbar. He is slow, but powerful, and sort of stupid.
Kent Williams - A cocky young man, he likes to dual wield pistols. He is agile and fast, and can climb over walls and jump across roofs.
Sarah Hanlon - As a woman who wanted to be a kick ass ninja girl, Sarah is stealthy, owns a silenced pistol, throwing stars, and a katana. Despite her aspirations, her star throwing skills are only adequate, but she did get a black belt
Mike Bishop - A wannabe anarchist who hates almost all kinds of authority (just cause he likes to be rebellious, cause it's super cool), Mike has Burst M14A1 Assault Rifle, and a pack of Molotov Cocktails and grenades.
Sean Bacon - Holder of a semi-automatic M1 Carbine, Sean demands that he be called "Bacon" only because he thinks its funny. While not grossly overweight, he is the fattest and most out of shape one in the group.
Jennifer Patterson - A survivor of Mandy's gang of the 2020 Purge, Jennifer, in order to escape being hunted again, decided to join up. She is armed with MP5 Submachine Gun, and is quiet and cold to others.
