Walter was born in Camelot to Blacksmith parents who raised him until he was ten. He lived a fairly average life up until his tenth birthday, when strange things started to happen., things he couldn't very well control. He was taken as soon as it was noticed by the Magicians, and from then on, his training as a Magician began. Walter did well as a pupil of the wise psykers of his society, learning quickly. By his fifteenth birthday, it became apparent that he had been blessed with a rare ability among the Magicians.
Walter could create fire.
Though he was not powerful in the ability by any means, the fact that he still had access to it made him somewhat of a rarity among the Magicians. An oddball among oddballs. He soon received a gift from his parents, at the age of eighteen, when he had finally stopped growing. His father and mother had been hard at work to create their only son a suit of power armor of his very own, styled in typical Camelot fashion. Though he was never the biggest or strongest lad, he had recieved the training required of a son of Camelot.
Coincidentally, they had inlaid flames licking around the wrist guards, and a single flame was emblazoned on the chest piece.
He wore this armor with pride, and the red cloak that his mother had hand stitched along with it. At this point, he had become an accomplished Magician, his studies and training almost concluded.
Walter at some point acquired a deck of playing cards from his father that had been passed down in the family and were said to bring good luck. People would often find the man shuffling the cards almost mechanically, seeming to almost just be going through the motions. During those times, he'd seem to blank out, focusing on the cards.
Walter often tends to play cards to preoccupy himself, a hobby he's developed especially since being assigned to accompany a fellow Magician and a team of Paladins to meet with the outsiders who inhabit the surrounding areas.
