Daniel's parents were Enclave Soldiers, they fled the NCR, and spent their days in a bunker in Oregon, where the small group they had all considered themselves family of Daniel. His parent's partners were all fleeing the NCR. Early on, he was parted from education, to military. The soldiers in the group all passed on tips and advice, and he took a liking to his Father's training, heavy weapons.
His father passed on at the age of 53, when Daniel was 24, and he inherited his father's armor. Over the next 4 years, the rest of the group would die, and their bodies all buried in the cave which houses the bunker. After all this death, Daniel didn't know what to do with himself, so he became a farmer for a village within 20 km of the bunker.
He was accepted well there, and he worked hard. He did however, join the rebellion against the NCR, and he was skilled with the weapons, even though they weren't energy weapons, the ones he was trained with, but he adapted his technique to the new, bullet weapons.
The area that he now resides in, is the same place the Rebels live, with it being in walking distance of the bunker, it is logical for him to live here, as he can return to the bunker every once in a while to maintain things there. The area has NCR roads along the great plains, and even though it seems flat, there are many small mounds that make great ambush places.
Daniel himself lives quite modestly, with a small, makeshift shack being his home.
