Ling wants to build her own little dynasty in the Wolves, making a permanent mark on them. She does not abide by uselessness and stupidity; in fact one could say she has intolerance to it. She doesn’t believe a woman should be limited, like the wolves usually believe, to her children when they are born, however she has made the best of a bad situation. Instead of allowing her children to be taught by another soldier of the wolves, Ling has taken it upon herself to train all her children personally, possibly adding to their sheer skill. Ling wants to be respected by those around her, and usually gets it. She can be hot tempered, and aggressive, though once people find out her history, they usually understand.

Sometime in her early life at around the age of eleven, Ling was offered to her first husband to be, as some kind of payment. For what, Ling didn’t know, but she knew it was bad so she never asked. Throughout her marriage, she was abused in various ways, but her husband was all she knew, she knew nothing of the world outside beyond what she could see. She could see nothing but a desolate wasteland for miles and miles, so she had no choice but to survive and be the good housewife, hoping for an eventual rescue in whatever form it came. Years went by, and her first son, Feng, was born. She cared for the boy, who was her once solace in a life of hell. Her husband, fearing he would be over thrown, made sure to keep Feng weak, even as a child.
By the time Feng was nearing his teen years, Ling was in her late twenties, and hope finally came. The hope came in the form of a wolf, or Wolves to be exact. Darwin’s Wolves had been making their way across the country, when they came across and unimportant farm owned by Ling’s husband. Fearing for his life, the husband decided to offer Ling and her son to the men, in return for his freedom, and had been about to force them out of the door, when Ling pulled a kitchen knife on him and thrust it into his lower spine. Having taken her chance, she surrendered herself and her son to the wolves. Though her immediate time with the wolves was hell, as is most people’s first experiences with them, Ling eventually ended up with the man who would be her second husband. Though he was a mean son of a bitch, he treated her better than her first husband, so she learned to live with him and his attitude. She swore to the Wolves on her life that her son would not be useless, and convinced her husband to train him and her in their ways. Though he was reluctant at first, he eventually did train the two and two years later, both Ling and Feng were seen on patrols.
Eventually Ling fell pregnant again with her second child, another boy, whom she named Tai. Years past, the Wolves settled in the Banks, and Ling became known as “Mama”, her second husband dead, her sons had become Wolves. Feng was now a veteran warrior, having a family of his own. Tai was also trying to make his own pack. Ling had five more kids in her time, even after she lost her second husband. She taught every one of them personally. Feng and Tai were joined by Micah, Han, Cade, Grey and Chang.
Now aged fifty eight, Ling is past her prime. She’s getting old and she knows she has ten, maybe twenty years left. She spends her time with her useless son, Chang, trying her best to make him useful, though she has failed thus far.
