Natalia strolled through the bustling streets of Manhattan, her squad lagging behind her. They were dressed in civilian attire, pistols tucked into their jackets. Much to Natalia's luck, one of her squad members was Australian, allowing him to carry a backpack and pass off as a tourist. Natalia's dress shoes and navy blue pants lay in the Australian's backpack, as well as an additional pistol, for anybody in the squad. While Natalia didn't blend in as well as her squad members, as she was sporting her usual uniform, she could easily pass as some sort of 'official'.
Natalia reached her destination, taking a minute to prepare herself. Natalia glanced to the sky, the large 30-story building stretching further than seemed needed. Her squad knew the drill; wait outside. They executed this plan more than they would of liked, but in such a crowded environment, bashing down the door with pistols in hand wouldn't get them very far. Natalia made sure her uniform was tidy, straightening her skirt and uniform top. She flicked an insignificant piece of dirt from her shoulder, home to an elevated patch of a slightly lighter blue, complete with two golden stars on each shoulder. Her short blonde hair was in place, as was her ponytail-bun hybrid she managed to grow. Her black heels were polished enough they reflected the sun, creating a satisfying shining effect. Her black stockings crawled up her slender legs, stopping out of site, under her skirt. She made sure her white dress shirt's collar was in place, doing the same with her uniform's collar shortly after. She took a short moment to inspect the gold designs riddled across her uniform's collar, brushing a lining of dust from it. Both and American and Ukrainian flag were sewn on her right shoulder, not a spec of dirt soiling them. Finally, she fiddled with her black tie. Satisfied her uniform was fine, she glanced around for something to make a taser of.
Luck was on Natalia's side, as the building had a small amount of pot-plants strewn around the front. She took a handful of dirt, and after putting some thought to it, was now holding a small projectile taser in her hands. Her eyes beamed a bright red for a split-second, an irritating side effect of her power. Once again, she clumped a small amount of dirt in her hand, and was quickly holding a stun-gun. She had previously received a report from her superiors that a mutant worked at the towering building in-front of her. Although it wouldn't be easy pin-pointing the mutants location, Natalia now had the chance to corner whomever it was she would be facing. She had no intention of killing her target, however, causing her to opt for two stun-weapons. If she managed it, she would be able to subdue her target in close range with the stun-gun, and if that failed, she still had her taser. If it didn't go well, she did have a real pistol, tucked into her uniform top.
Natalia calmly entered the building, preparing her badge. It felt more like she was apart of the FBI, rather than the military. She approached the front desk, greeting the lady standing awkwardly behind it. She took out her badge and showed it to her, beginning to speak. "I'm going to need to take a look around. It's nothing too serious, we're just looking for someone." Natalia was firm, but tried not to be too intimidating. Her light Ukrainian accent shone through her words. The lady behind the desk nodded to her, after checking the badge, and deciding it looked 'official' enough for her to write it off. Natalia approached the elevator, entering without a fuss. A young girl already occupied the elevator, and figuring now was a good as time as ever, Natalia opened her mouth to speak. They exchanged greetings, and Natalia continued. "Would you mind if I asked you a couple of questions?" She gave the girl a soothing smile, looking towards her."Umm, yeah, sure" The girl replied awkwardly, obviously uncomfortable. Her nervous eyes darted to the gleaming elevator floor and the mechanical door in front of them, before she returned her gaze to Natalia.
Natalia begun, starting with a basic question. "Would you happen to have noticed any... odd things happen around the office? Anything that comes to mind would be a great help." Natalia could see the girl was somewhat uneasy, but her information could prove vital, so she continued. "Not really, but everyone is usually too busy working to do anything 'strange'. Although I can't be sure about any of the floors above me, I don't have access to them." She shuffled her feet awkwardly, her pupils flickering around at a faster pace. Natalia turned her head to the blank wall on her right, whispering an apology due to how nervous the girl was. Natalia returned her vision to the young woman, speaking up once again. "Have you noticed any things such as... sudden damages to things in the office? Or strange objects? Even the coffee machine breaking could help, so please, anything that comes to mind."
"Well, umm, err." The woman replied, still extremely uneasy. The elevator made a distinctive dinging noise, as the two pieces of metal that managed to form a door slid apart. "Sorry, this is my floor, I have to go" The woman darted out the door, getting the jump on Natalia. She managed to grip the door on both sides and force it wider, allowing her to slip out, even as it started to close.
Natalia gave chase, shouting to the woman in-front of her. "Please, stop, come easily and you won't be hurt!" She made herself far too audible, however it got the point across comfortably. The way the woman almost sprinted away, and how instantaneously she had left, she was far too suspicious to be innocent. The young woman rounded a corner. Natalia apologised as she sprinted through groups of people, desperately attempting to catch up with the young woman. Her high heels had fallen off at the elevator, Natalia now moving through the spacious office with nothing but stockings making contact with the carpet. She was met with a maze of cubicles, confused people scattered around it. After a quick glance from side to side, she noticed a rough gap between one of the baffled groups. Natalia dashed through them, making the assumption the divide of people was caused by the young woman moving through them. Her hunch was correct, having now cornered the girl. She let out several shallow breaths, managing to compose herself. "Give up, and you won't be harmed." She ordered the girl, as firm as she could be.
The girl looked around in a hurry, before realizing she was cornered. She quickly scanned the desk to her side, before laying eyes on what she was looking for. She hastily took a small paperweight from the desk, forcing it through the air as hard as she could. The object left an almost unnoticeable dent in the roof, obviously having some weight to it. It sped through the air back towards the ground, leaving Natalia in confusion. Before it finished it's free-fall, it slowed to the point of floating as if it were a feather. The let it fall into her hand, before letting it slip from her hand. This time, it hit the ground with a thud, bouncing slightly before becoming motionless. The woman rose her arms in a defensive position, ready for whatever it is Natalia could throw at her. "I'm sorry, whoever you are, but I spent 10 years in one of your facilities, and I'll be damned if I go back again" The woman was firm, clearly not wanting to give up.
Natalia gritted her teeth and reached for the taser she had tucked near her pistol. She rose her arm to the woman, and although she knew full well the woman in-front of her had almost definitely planned for a weapon to be aimed at her in the position she was in, she wanted to give a final warning. The taser was a collision of bright yellow and weak black, giving off a cheap and plastic feel. It was shaped to a gun, as most were, Natalia laying her finger on the trigger. "Last chance." She commanded. The woman simply stared back at her. Natalia quickly swapped out her taser for a her real pistol, and backed off slightly. She kept her weapon aimed, carefully keeping her head on a swivel. A devastated employee stood on her right - just what she needed. She forcefully took him by the shirt, managing to rip a moderate amount from it. Her eyes beamed a bright red once again, and the small pressure the taser gave off in her uniform top dispersed. Her eyes cooled to their usual colour, a calm blue. Natalia gripped the small metal canister now in her hand, swiftly hurling her pistol the side. She force the pin away from the canister, grey smoke now erupting from it. Natalia heaved it towards the woman with all her might, seeing this as the safest way to do things. She almost instantly closed the gap between her and the woman, revealing her stun-gun and pressing it against the girl's neck.
"Is that all you need, officer?" Natalia asked, as friendly as she could. He nodded and strolled away, mumbling something about government bullshit. Natalia watched as the woman was driven away, the afternoon sun reflecting off the slick black car she was forced into the back of. Explaining everything to the police took longer than Natalia would of hoped, but it wasn't long before she received the proof she needed from her superiors. She ducked under the police tape that had been set a few metres in-front of her, gently pulling the door open of yet another black car. There was still more work to be done in New York, but this was a start. A few of her squad members rested in the car with her, the Australian member behind the wheel. He took them to a nearby hotel their superiors had made arrangements for them at. They didn't talk much during the ride, Natalia lost in her own thoughts. They did discuss the identity of the young woman, however. A Ms. 'Kirra Taylor'. Natalia's thoughts repeatedly turned towards one thing Kirra had said, however. She mentioned that she had spent 10 year sin one of 'their' facilities, and she refused to return. Was it that bad? Natalia tried to stray from such thoughts, but found herself returning to them constantly.
Natalia relaxed in her hotel room, eventually falling asleep after a few hours of thought.
[Feel free to make your posts on this day or the next, or a few days before or anything. Just please state when the post takes place. The general plan is that, for now, Natalia captures you guys and then sees the bad shit they do at the base. Then breaks you out and goes to your side, thus beginning a proper rebellion as Natalia could bring a small number of soldiers with her. Of course some of you may not agree with this, so just talk to me about it and we can easily find an alternative.]
