PLAYBACK BEGINS
"SSgt Williams appears to be quite the stable SPARTAN, she is able to keep her cool under pressure, as evidented by the simulations we've put her through. Outside of combat, she is hard on the troops, but not to the point of unkindness. She knows when to stop, and how much someone can take. Williams can be a little naive at times, and wanting her own way most of the times, but she's understood Chain of Command. Perhaps this UNSC Eternal gig is for the best."
END TRANSMISSION
Emily Williams' parents were not of military stock, unlike a great deal of SPARTANs. Her mother and father were dentists. Strangely enough, she was deemed as a worthy subject for the SPARTAN-V Project. Her parents, not being of military stock, had no idea what the SPARTAN-V project was about, they were simply told that she would be a soldier trained from a young age. Her parents, somewhat intrigued by the thought of her daughter being a soldier, let the UNSC take her.
Unfortunately, she had no idea what would happen in the program, the intense and rigorous mental and physical training, and eventually the augmentation process. Emily had quite the shock when the training started proper. It took her some time to adjust to the packed schedule, but she eventually got used to it. Once she was adjusted to the training, she saw some use in it, not just loathing it, she actually enjoyed the challenge. And eventually she started to challenge her superiors. Nothing major, she'd just purposefully take her time on things.
Eventually, the training was finished, and the augmentation process began. It was excruciating, no amount of training could have prepared her for the augmentations. At the end of the operation, she was given adequate time to relax, and for her to adjust to the implants. Emily adjusted to them fairly normally, after training for the use of her implants. After adequate training, she was sent on a mission.
Covenant Forces stationed on a back end planet. Too many for a marine squad, too little for a veteran SPARTAN squad. Command thought it would be a good test for the newest battle-ready SPARTAN trainees. This team consisted of Emily Williams and 9 other successful SPARTANs. Originally, their mission was to perform reconnaissance on the covenant, and once HIGHCOM thought they had performed sufficient recon, their mission changed to destroy them.
The 10 SPARTANs stealthily infiltrated the base, and set charges around the facility. Once they had exfiltrated, the charges were blown, and the base was gone. All 10 SPARTANs, were formally inducted into the UNSC Marine Corps. Emily was assigned to the UNSC Autumn's Revenge, an Autumn-class cruiser. The Autumn's Revenge was only a defense vessel, it stayed in orbit around a colony, most of the time, and she hardly saw action there. The only time she did was if an Insurrectionist force popped up, the colony was of no importance to the Covenant, so Innies were the only thing to shoot at.
