Hello there, and I am ShadowofGhosts, which in fact is a random username that a friend made up. I joined this Forum on the basis on Elder Scrolls and Fallout RP, as Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim were my favorite games, and since Bethesda and Pete Hines are being asses and not releasing Fallout 4, here I am, trying to do some RP related to my two favorite video game franchises. I am a High School Student with quite some radical views on philosophy, politics and economics, and I may incorporate them into characters, or incorporate the exact opposite just because. I also do game (on PC, because Consoles suck), and other games I enjoy include Civilization, Ultimate General Gettysburg (Oh I love destroying the Yankee forces) and GTA, and I am lingering for 2015, when GTA V on PC will come out, and hopefully when Fallout 4 and Destiny for PC are coming out.
I hope to have a great time on this forum.

Welcome to the Nexus brother. I'll get a mod to give you a full run down later, but until then let us take a moment of prayer to the holy lord GabeN.

Greetings, Shadowofghosts. Welcome to the Nexus.
Good to have another enthusiastic gamer join. It seems you share a lot with other members already, so I'm sure you'll find plenty of threads. The chatbox to your left is a great way to talk to whatever members are currently hanging around ( it might be having problems today though.. it is for me... ), and most of them will be happy to answer any basic questions you have. The General board is good if you'd like everyone to read your message or question, but everything you need to know can be found in the various guides and by reading over some of the current threads.
You'll need to read the Rules of Nexus Guide before you get started posting, which can be found here: Rules of Nexus
All the basics will be there. Each major wing of Nexus, ( Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Halo ) have their own guides. Read the one you choose to use first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the canon here in that world. When you're ready to get started, you'll need to make a profile for your first official character in it's respective submission areas:
Flow Example: You are going to make a Fallout character. You would use the Fallout Character Template and post the character's profile in the Fallout Character Submissions.
After two Staff Members review your character and give it the ol' thumbs up, you can then create a thread or join one already in progress. Threads marked OPEN are free for anyone to join, CLOSED or FULL threads are not currently accepting new members into the thread, and PRIVATE or ATJ or ASK marks a thread that you'll need specific permission to join. Those are the basics for now, I think. I will be around later tonight if you have anymore questions. ( It's Thanksgiving, gotta go. ) Just check everything out, read stuff, talk to people, and figure out which direction you want to go first. Or just dive in, either way. Welcome to Nexus, Shadow.

Hey there! Welcome to the Nexus!
I'm the Lost Traveler, and I can definitely relate because I primarily do Fallout and Elder Scrolls roleplay too. As for waiting for Fallout 4, if you haven't you should definitely play Fallout 3 in the meantime. It was a game I played when I was in high school, but it should definitely be fun for modern gamers and not as much as a graphics jump as say - going to Oblivion. Also, if you're doing PC gaming why not try out some of the mods on the Steam Workshop? They can add quite a bit more content to the games or at least make the core content more diverse and interesting.
Either way, I look forward to rping with you in the future!

Personally, I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas first and Fallout 1 and 2 after, but I enjoyed the older ones at the same level, if not more so than the newer titles. I'd personally recommend you play them as well as Fallout 3, which is another great game in the series. On another note, radical views are always something I like in any social medium (philosophical and political especially), so that should go down well...
But, anyway. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay.
